Interesting, how do they calculate the ranks?
They ask people to pay them.
Could you please expand a bit-I am not getting this ranks calculation.
All I know is that they were asking people for money/BTC to get put on the list (of most prominent people). Several prominent bitcoiners asked to be removed from the list of most prominent people when they found out. If they are asking people for money it implies the companies got listed the same way.
They didn't ask us for any payment nor to be added to the list. When the list went up it had 100 companies and projects listed already. They tweeted at us saying congrats for #21 on the list.
This is how we found out there was such a list, we simply tweeted it ourselves too. They have yet to contact us for anything else but keep tweeting to us every week mentioning the rank we achieve.
If you read carefully anyone can add themselves to the list, their admins get back to you after a week if you are approved or not. If they ask for money at that stage we don't know.
This is our side of the story.
And this is how the ranking works according to their page:
Our Blockchain list is an automatic algorithm based on social media influence, Klout scores and a secret recipe. We take into account various metrics from Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, Youtube, LinkedIn and Instagram. The list is determined by Artificial Intelligence using Machine Learning and gets updated each Monday. If you believe your organisations can arise a creative impulse in people (or you know a business that can), you can add organisations by clicking the ‘join’ button below. All entries are considered by our admins, and Richtopia reserves the right to accept or forbid organisations from the list as it deems fit.
Our first tweet is also featured on the page and we will keep retweeting if and when they do.
