Are there ways to earn this coin without mining, maybe by writing or sharing links?

Hello FinShaggy,

Thank you for your question.  Yes you can earn FastCoin's many way's, users throughout this forum trade Fastcoin's among one another for goods and services.  We have also noticed a recent rise with online gamers particularly in the younger groups where they place bets with one another during game-play and payout the winners with FastCoins. etc.

You can also buy FastCoin's outright via the exchanges.  You will require Bitcoin's however if you want to purchase FastCoin's via the exchange, one company in Canada that has done a wonderful job in making Bitcoin purchases as easy as possible is....

https://www.tinkercoin.com/

Once you have purchased your Bitcoin's with them you can then purchase FastCoin's from...

https://www.cryptsy.com

We at the FastCoin community are open to suggestions, as we proactively continue to grow the awareness of the coin we welcome any creative idea's you may have to further enhance the usability of the coin.

Thank you again for your post, we look forward to your reply.

Sincerely

Cheetahx

Anyone having problems with their fastcoin client?

I have 2 servers now where fastcoin has become unresponsive. fastcoind getinfo just hangs forever and does not return any results. If I delete the blockchain and all other data in .fastcoin (except for wallet and conf) it takes hours and hours to download block chain and does not solve the problem. While downloading the block chain fastcoind getinfo works until a certain point - near current block height where client becomes unresponsive...

Any suggestions - it is now affecting fastcoin mining on miningpool.co?

I have left the following example for anyone interested to review the results...

http://fst.webboise.com/tx/b8537908c1da08433cc2ff6d5fe9a72810b82c2442ce08ce4f6d0932194ccf22

In that example over 175,000 (175,009.9 to be exact) were successfully transferred from one FST wallet to another.

As you can see in the FST Blockchain example above it had successfully recorded the transfer of this amount of FST in one transaction without issue.

As i mentioned before - problem coming when all transactions in input chain are "generate" transactions.
Its mean that all money were generated on same wallet from where i trying to send it.
So, for 10000 transfer there are about 300 inputs, for 40K - 1200.
On such situation fastcoind are replied with error on RPC command "sendtoaddress" with 40000 amount.
but easy transfered that coins with 4 different 10000 transactions.
Your example had only 26 inputs so it worked fine.

version of wallet is last compiled from git on ubuntu.
all ok with blockchain, ie - pool working with that wallet just fine.
there are more then twice of needed coins in this wallet.
but when some user made over 40000 FST and tryed to withdraw it, fastcoind just replied with error 500
to sendtoaddress command with such amount.

I have found with fastcoin you need to limit the transaction amount to 10000 at a time.

seems like so. at least if all coins in a wallet are generated locally coins.
tryed with 13K - worked.
with 20K - error 500.
so for now added additional checking on all pool withdrawals - i.e when amount is more than 15000 - i process
such withdrawals manually splitted with few transactions.

Hello Ethought,

Thank you for your post, this is an interesting situation you are describing as we have not had the issue you have identified above.  Again we have successfully transferred over 500,000 FST at a time from wallet to wallet without issue.  We have not experienced the technical difficulties as described above with no theoretical limit of any kind.  From a practical perspective we do encourage users that if and when they transfer large amounts of FST from one user's wallet to another to transfer a small amounts first to verify that the transfer was successful.  However this has nothing to do with the technical limitations described above, only a common sense practical approach when transferring large quantities of FST from one user to another.  Again we are not aware of the problem you have described above nor have we found that we need for technical reasons to limit our quantity of FastCoin's to 10,000 or less per transaction.  This can all be verified for anyone that would like to see some of the larger transactions with FST by simply viewing the Block Chain....

Impossible to solo mine I guess

You can solo mine Fastcoin, however we have found that when the Network Hash rate is over 75Mhz or higher, it is more effective to join a pool.

If the Hashrate and difficulty drop below this level, you may want to consider Solo mining as an option.

Thank you Vasp for your additional details.

We have not been able to recreate the issue you have identified.  Perhaps the PC where your current wallet is located on may be conflicting with some other software which might be causing the error.

Our recommendation is if you can install the latest software wallet on another PC, have it fully synchronize and attempt to transfer your funds over to it.  As stated before we have transferred over 500,000 FST at a time with no issue from one wallet to another.  Another item you might want to check if it is a Windows Based PC are the Clock, Language, and Region settings within Control Panel.  Verify if you settings are configure to US English.  Specifically the Region and Language area.  For Format select English (United States) and be sure the Date and time formats are set to the default.  We have seen in the past that when the number formats or not set to default it may trickle down to application dependencies which could effect the number cap you are describing.

Give the above a try and let us know your outcome, we would like to have this issue resolved for you.

Sincerely

Fast and secure crypto currency of the future
something wrong with wallet software.
There was about 70K in the wallet. All coins are generated by the pool.
When some user asked to transfer about 42K coins - wallet just made an constant error (rpc server error 500) over RPC call for sending such amount.
But when i asked to transfer same volume to their wallet, but with four 10K transactions all just come fine. Whats problem with sending
such amounts of generated coins?

Thank you for your post Vasp,

Please let us know what version of the wallet software are you referring to in your question above?  IE Windows, Mac, Android, We have not experienced the issue you are reporting transferring FST.  We have successfully transferred both large (500K FST) and small (Less then 1 FST) volume transactions with the FST Wallet.

One thing you can try to check is the block chain to verify the transactions you can use the following post here to verify the transaction record...

http://fst.webboise.com/chain/Fastcoin

Be sure your wallet's are fully synchronized when performing transactions, and you may need to stop and restart the wallet if it did not properly synchronize.  Also you want to make sure the Wallet was properly installed and is not being adversely affected by local firewall or anti virus program.  Finally also check to make sure your internet connection is operating smoothly as the block-chain verification process requires a stable internet connection.

Best Regards

NEW 0% FEE  FastCoin Mining Pool with DDoS protection: http://fst.pro-tech.bz.it

Easy stratum connect:
  • stratum+tcp://pro-tech.bz.it:3339
  • cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pro-tech.bz.it:3339 -u username -p password -I 9

DO NOT USE THIS POOL.  Out of 3 Users, I had 70% of the hash rate here, I only get paid out 3 FST per 32 FST Block.  Either site is broken or pool, even though it is 0% fees is stealing 80% of my supposed rewards.

FASTCOIN DEV, Consider removing this site from this thread.

Thank you Swiftshoot for the update,

Please continue to keep us posted of any other strange behavior that you may notice on any other mining pools.  We would like to be able to create a list and qualify some of FastCoin pools out there, and perhaps provide recommendations to the community.  To date we have not had a lot of time since the release of FastCoin to verify the integrity of some of these mining pool operations.  Please understand that it is very difficult for us to monitor and police the mining pools as they do offer voluntarily service and we do understand that they need to cover some of there operational costs.

Having said that, it is understood that pool operators have the option to exercise basic fees or request donations from its members through a variety of methods.  Typically a 1 - 3% Fee is not outrageous and would seem reasonable.  But yes if you feel a considerable amount may be siphoning off then that is not an ideal site, and again in fairness to the pool operator it may be that there site is or was "Broken" or not operating properly at the time of your mining experience.

Currently the best thing we can offer you is to check the posted FastCoin mining pool list from here...

http://www.fastcoin.ca/mining-pools.html

From our experience we have found the following three FastCoin Pool sites to be the best in terms of up time and consistency of payouts...

http://fst.ltcoin.net
http://fst.zabmail.ru
https://www.miningpool.co/

Again you need to check and verify which site works best for you, internet proximity may play a role in choosing the best pool as well.  IE if you are in Asia perhaps a pool in that geographical location may suite your purposes better then one found in North America.  Again this is not 100% as some sites in Asia have preformed well during North America site outages and vis-versa, you will just have to check and perhaps move from site to site till you find one that works best for you.

We will do our best to continue to check and modify this list should new information becomes available.

Thank you again for your post and your continued interest and support in the FastCoin project.

Sincerely

fast-coin
