Personally, I suspect that the biggest factor is that the altcoin community is terrified of the impact ASICs will have on mining, exposing coins to 51% attacks, etc. What Fluttercoin is doing (like Blackcoin and a few others) with PoS and PoT seems like a promising solution. In the same way that people flocked to Litecoin when it developed a mining algorithm resistant to SHA256 ASICs, they are now flocking to coins that counter the emerging threat of Scrypt ASICs.

I've been focusing on Dogecoins, and the ASIC thing is definitely a big topic of conversation. I bought a bit of FLT and BC yesterday morning, just to see what would happen, and it's been electrifying. I'm now all in, for the time being.

I think FLT may just keep rising until the Scrypt ASICs come out in full force and it either is or isn't the zombie apocalypse. If it isn't, I'll hopefully be able to switch back to Doge with profits made from FLT in the interim. If it is, then my guess is FLT will continue to skyrocket. Either way, I think this is the place to store value over the next couple of months.

For those of you who are committed FLT-fans, I think this security from ASIC threat is a major, major selling point and ought to be the focus of your marketing and outreach to people scared of the impact on other altcoins.

Well that plus the PoW reward is ramping down fast...most PoW is already done, coin supply is limited.

Plus of course this is the first and so far the only coin with Proof of Transaction

So why is the value/trading volume so much increasing, I don't get it. Only because there are rumors of a multipool?

Kidcoin do you have a suggestion on the best way to get a multipool? Seems like a crucial piece to the puzzle and we haven't set plans to get it started. I can help coordinate it if you and Trujillo need extra help.

BTER cold wallet has already been drained of 30% of it's FLT -- all transferred to Mintpal. Just in 24 hours. It was over 55 mil the other day.
Amazing volume at Mintpal! 569 BTC in 24 hours. So we will catch up to Blackcoin? Sure.

Market cap is sitting at less than 1/20th of blackcoin yet we are doing 1/6th the volume. Even a 3 million cap would be 6x increase.

There is no maximum number of coins, though roughly 224 million coins will be produced through POW

Over 70% of the coins are already mined for PoW. Regular mining is essentially coming to an end now.
Reward halving is in a few days. And then it will be halved every WEEK until it's nearly nothing in a matter of weeks.

In other words if you are going to mine this coin you have like a couple weeks left.
That is why the hashrate is up 5 fold.

Yeah I will hold on to the FLT myself, this will be one of the big ones for shure. BC, COMM and FLT this years runners...

People seam to forget FLT was traded around 750-800 the first time it hit Bter. With all the buzz that it got now, it will easily go over 2k in the coming week or so. I actually sold all my FAC and converted to FLT at prices around 150 and although FAC went 120% after that I am still confident I did the right move as I was sure that FLT will give me the better RoI in the long term.

Sorry. I sold it all at 1000. I misread this and thought PoW was only 1 year. But it's actually 7 years. 500 million minimum to 5 billion is to hard for me to put a value on this altcoin. Good luck everyone!
