Is there something inherently wrong with a coingen coin?

There can be really good business applications made with Blockchain tech. Obviously this is more important, as long as development can be continued, no problem with me.

What normally happens, though, is that once the Dev's dastardly deed :-) is outted, the Dev slithers away, head hung in shame, knowing that he should have taken a few more C++, Java, Perl, etc. courses in college. Or, problems arise and the Dev(s) are not able to fix them, because, well, they didn't write the code and thus, are not in the least bit capable of fixing the code. The coin loses value, gets delisted, or not listed at all, and those that mined are stuck holding huge bags of worthless coins.
Now, that is just the scenario that normally happens. Who knows, this coin might be different. At this point it's merely Caveat Emptor. If you chose to mine, just realize the possibilities. By the way Dev, nothing against you, as you may very well be highly capable to bring this coin to the moon. I just base this on experiences from the past Coingen products. Fair thee well, and good luck.

just for your info guys, its more or less a coingen:

https://github.com/GENESISCOIN/GENESISCOIN_SCRYPT/blob/master/src/net.cpp#L1176

www.walletbuilders.com

at least diff retarget seems to work
what is coingen excatly?

Coingen is a website where you enter the desired name of your altcoin, for example MyNewShitcoin, then you press on "Generate" and pay something like 0.1-0.2 btc and you get the sourcecode and a compiled windows wallet for your coin.

Its the wallet generator for anyone that cannot code.

how could we tell if a coin is a coingen or not

Usually the diffuculty retarget of coingen coins are broken and they use the same seed node, that's how.

Btw I have 300000 Gene left for sale, PM if you are interested.

should list the nodes used then

Didn't you see my post above ? Smiley

Here you see the used nodes, in the sourcecode:
https://github.com/GENESISCOIN/GENESISCOIN_SCRYPT/blob/master/src/net.cpp#L1176

Which leads you to:

www.walletbuilders.com <- which is the coingen service...

How obvious could it be made ? Smiley

ah i dont click your prev link, now i see that thanks
