What you think about LomoCoin ?
it is China analog Smiley

The ANN thread for Lomo coin is almost incomprehensible, if it is an analog of geocoin. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annlmc-lomostar-first-built-in-cryptocurrency-lbs-entertainment-app-1609194

Reading that announcement an English speaker cannot really tell what the coin does.

It had a large ico or whatever, which the ANN thread is transparent about.

I would strongly suggest the Geocoin devs look into partnering with Lomo, research the possibilities. There would be a synergy in two similar such coins cooperating, especially from very different areas with different cultures etc.

http://lomocoin.com/english/html11/faqs.html

Even though very poor ANN thread, the website is a lot sharper, even in English, than Geocoin.

Traded on Bittrex since March https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-LMC

Market cap us$14m http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/lomocoin/

It would be very sensible for the two dev teams to meet over coffee or opium or whatever and discuss cooperating. Things would go well if most major discussions between dev teams are public, including sensitive discussions.

Looking at the Lomo site, but only the site, it appears that the Lomo people have spent a lot of effort and thought out a lot of stuff that Geocoin has not.

You really need to change the landing page, so people know what the coin is about and how to use the app. Maybe make a video.

The geocaches out in the community already consist of plastic containers.  We wouldn't be creating our own Geocaches, simply just adding a coupon or voucher within existing caches already placed around the community.  I was thinking a paper wallet would not have too many negative environmental impacts as paper is recyclable  Tongue

Hold on. If you are talking about geocaches that are already on that other website, that have logs of where the geocache travels, then your audience is small. Why not make entirely your own geocaches, they could even be a sort of treasure hunt where you post the clues and the first person to physically arrive at the location gets the key, the paper wallet. A lot of possible variations, you could physically write the first 10 characters of a paper wallet key in one place, the next 10 in another place etc, and if it is possible, force a wallet to ping those locations before it gets to the final digits of the paper wallet key.

In terms of regular dropping of geocoins, if it is possible to drop them within a small enough radius you could start dropping small amounts of money in places that require stealth. I remember a video of a guy that went to North Korea and every time the tour guides turned around he would be pissing in flowerpots and flipping off statues of the supreme leader. If you put a few geocoins in the N Korea police station that deals with political people you would be putting up a worthy challenge. Or put a few coins in Donald Trump's toilet, though that may well be illegal, the line between N Korea and the U.S. is blurry.

Just copy Pokémon Go. If you can do that, this coin will be the next big hit. Might go to the billions in a matter of weeks. Will be on the news, "New form of money, just like Pokémon Go. But this time, you gotta geocatch them all."

The current ban process is not carried out by an administrator, we use advanced GIS spatial analysis to automatically ban people who attempt to spoof their GPS positions.

In the past we have dropped GeoCoins on the map that were password protected based on a nearby feature in the real world, we could look into implementing that again for a more verifiable collection from the location.

I've also thought of dropping off paper wallets which geocachers can find within actual geocaching.com geocaches as another promotional tool.

Lots on the GEO!

Glad you are covering the intellectual side with spatail analysis or whatever  Cheesy

Dropping paper wallets with a tiny amount of geocoin would be like the boundary between old school geocachers and the techno types that use coins, aside from being a great marketing idea. One consideration though is that there has to be an extreme focus on making anything dropped anywhere environmentally friendly. Putting plastic markers or paper with keys inside plastic out in the woods will not fly.

Usually when price spikes there is either a insider info or something similar, you don't throw 300k+$ on thin air Wink

consolidation phase now ?

Maybe expect app release and then 10x, who knows.

Was there an announcement?
What made the price spike?

I think people are finally beginning to discover this is a very cool coin. That, and the website is up. Has the APP been released? How can we collect GeoCoins? Do we just go to the area and select the app on the website and select, "hunt this coin?"
