as of some strange reason gil.conf is not read on my linux system.
does someone know where gil-qt looks for that file?

edit:
funny, got it working with command line switches insted of gil.conf

it now tries syncing got 3 blocks with zero active connections lol.

how to get the blockchain?

anny active nodes out there?

edit2:
ok according to logfile it bans active node due to misbehaviour. increased banscore to 1 million but dont get further then block 3 with syncing

any ideas or some blockchain to download?
yes you need to download the blockchain in the first post

Gil got quite active today on cryptsy after this announcement Smiley

Still undervalued tenfold at least in my opinion, look at the amount of coins and we now got a pretty much perfect client, its very fast too.. but it's good to hear Cryptsy is making some sense here now.

I Agree anyway i bayed my share of cheap Gil and now waiting for LTC Gil market to open Smiley

You don't need to have a port number in your conf at all, it will use the default port

There still seems to be some confusion here...

Your OP says the P2P port is one thing, but the default port that the client connects to is another.

RPC Port = 64576
P2P Port = 64575
Testnet Port = 64574

Are these port numbers correct? The client is trying to connect to 64574, which according to the OP is a testnet... but the client says testnet=false.

I'm assuming the OP has muddled numbers, but I want to be 100% sure that I'm on a live net rather than a test one.
they are correct, im mining on 64576

Yes, that's the RPC port, no dispute about that. I need to know that the P2P and testnet ports have been transposed in the OP.
as long as they match the conf file you can set them to anything
