Hi everyone,

I thought I would give my opinion on the recent Auction. (10,000 GLB went for 0.4 BTC)

Ok, so basically, it went for much lower than previous trades, this is obliviously a disadvantage.

It does mean that GLB is backed by much more BTC than before (0.2 BTC) .

It also gives us cold hard cash (well BTC) that we can use to help move the project forward maybe save up and spend on XYZ.

I think doing this on a frequent basis would cause the price to decrease however if we do these on an infrequent basis maybe once a month it could be beneficial.

What do you think?

Thanks
Sphere

I think people are holding back a little, including myself, untill GLB gets onto an exchange. No one is going to invest serious money (BTC) into a coin, if it is unclear whether you can ever get your investment back. I really like the idea of GLB, but untill it gets onto an exchange there is no way to increase the reserve on an ongoing basis. This actually makes this coin little different from many other recent coins in its current state. I think that getting GLB on an exchange is the first priority in order to really make this happen.

Doing auctions now and then could be a good way to get some more BTC until GLB hits an exchange. Maybe it would also be good to have some smaller auctions (like 1000 GLB), so people with less BTC can bid as well.

Hi ,

Remember how we take 20% tax, 50% of the tax is sent to the holds, reserves and stabilizers.

85,650 worth of GLB is stored. 142,000 Globes have been taxed aprox .

85,650 is more than 50% of all the Globes taxed. As more are created it will average out to a 50/50 split.

Hope that makes sense  Wink

Also can some users switch over to http://globe.ecoining.com nerioseole is probably feeling lonely .

Thanks
Sphere

I get to keep 100% of the reward for each block found - I like being "lonely" in those conditions  Grin

To be fair, you get to kepp 99% of the reward because you are donating us Cheesy We should be donating to you as your help testing the pool has been huge!

Thank you mate!

Hey guys wanted to update you guys on a couple things

I sent a total of 12,000 to the GLB-HLD and GLB-STD addresses.

Also 5000 GLB has been converted into BTC (due to the auction) and has been sent to the BTC-RES-2 address and BTC-STB-2 address.

This means the equivalent of 85,650 GLB is at the reserves and price stabilization . This is again over the 50% but should average out in the coming days/weeks.

You can view a breakdown here : http://www.globecrypto.com/#where-are-taxes-going-to

Thanks
Sphere

Nice! How do you mean over 50%?

Ah, yes that makes sense. I was thinking about 50% of total globe, but that way it didn't make sense (since there is a lot more globe around).

The specs say that it is after 2 months.  So, 60 days x 1440 blocks = 86 400.  We are currently at block 69475, so (86400 - 69475) / 1440 =  11.75 days from now.  Maybe Sphere can gives us the exact block number that was put in the code.

No problem. Its 85260 blocks in the code .

I believe that you based Globe on Freicoin?  Maybe Freicoin has the same issue, but because its diff is so high, nobody is solo mining it, and they don't notice it.

This could be true. By the way globe.ecoining.com is empty. Any reason ?

I have the same problem, but I just use the daemon, without qt.

Also at around 15:00 GMT? Or at random times?

I also happened to me today at around 7AM PST - which would be 15:00 GMT.  I am using the QT on Linux, that I compiled from the source code on github.

15:00 GMT?  Isn't Tea time in the UK?  Do we have a Globe QT that stops working for tea?  How civilized!

Ok this is really getting weird. I mean I didn't modify any of the  qt files apart from the images and a simple search and replace. Maybe the QTs need some tea and biscuits hahaha.  On a serious note does this happen to other QTs ? I read some reports of BTC QT wallets doing the same but ... Also weird how both of you guys got it around 15:00 GMT maybe a coincidence. I might try and open my QT couple mins before 15:00 GMT and see if the qt has a tea break Smiley

Ok, I have a strange problem with my Globe wallet. Every day at around 16:00 my time (Amsterdam), so around 15:00 GMT, it stops syncing. The wallet still says that it is synced, but actually it is not updating (now, at 16:46, the last block was at 16:00). This is the third day in a row already, and I've had this problem on my main computer as wel as my mining pc (the last one cost me around 2hours of mining, before I noticed).

Not a huge problem, since it works fine after a restart of the wallet, but it's strange, and never had it before with any other wallet.

Yes this occasionally happens to me. Not as often, but I have realized. Wonder if its just our QT or all of them. The same wallet has been compiled twice and I noticed it on both. It has never happened to me on Linux just Windows. So sorry about that unless someone has a solution.....

Ok, I've never seen this with any other QT (and I am on windows btw). But I've also never solo mined a coin for much longer than a day as well, so it could also be I've just never noticed it before.

I still put the nodes in globe.conf in the roaming folder and it still doesn't download.

Its meant to be in the Globe roaming folder . You sure it's there ?

Very sure.

Made a text document
Put in the nodes mentioned in the other post
Saved as globe.conf

and nothing when I open up the client.

Try downloading this config file. It should work, and has many nodes.
