File was missing, so I created it and added nodes, but it's still not working.

Where can I find that file? I use Windows version of virtual machine.
You can find it at
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Globe
Open the globe.conf file using notepad and add the nodes in the following format
addnode=77.49.6.244
addnode=37.135.248.62
etc etc etc

My wallet always says '0 active connections' and won't sync. I've never had that problem with any crypto before. It usually connects withing few minutes with them.
Any help?

This occasionally happens add these nodes to your globe.conf file :
77.49.6.244
37.135.248.62
176.255.137.49
84.60.76.194
82.74.170.131
99.157.253.133
23.242.253.198

yes this issue has already been stated. I may be wrong but I think the domain has an issue with its ssl certificate which causes this warning when you to attempt goto the https webpage. I can confirm their is no risk to your machine when you continue.
