Have you considered giving just enough cards for a very basic deck in order to build the player base?
Yes! We actually will have hundreds of free cards commonly available to all players. Additionally, every week we will have a free rotating set of cards you can try out

There will be a core set of free cards you can earn through playing various game modes and defeating the AI.

I remember when Hearthstone first released wings everyone was scrambling to buy them for $10 apiece because the cards they are guaranteed to give were so powerful.
