What will happen to the gold tokens that were bought during the crash? I personally bought in the fall (as with many other cryptocurrencies) and now I can see the balance of gold in my account but without exchange options or price. What will happen to those gold purchased?

The price did not fall on our marketplace. We always advise using our marketplace. we suggested to the BitForex exchange to cancel all transactions from March 28 and return all users' funds to their wallets. We do not know when they do that. If you bought tokens there you can contact Bitforex support and clarify this issue.

You are so right, never thought about that this way but indeed, you can hack the contract but you can't steal the gold, is truly like blessing for investors.

Of course I fully support this decisions and think that this is the only reasonable way forward now.

Let's hope that the company that made such big mistake will take this case as a full priority as everybody would expect them to in such circumstances and will develop a solution ASAP.

Luckily it will be much easier to wait when GOLD tokens are going up in value together with real gold.

When I read posts here about the smart contract problems, I checked the Gold account and see gold bars were unmoved. All bars are safely stored in the vault. It is the good and transparent proof I can check on my side.

Your explanation is strong. GOLD tokens are pegged by physical gold bars that are stored in a highly trusted Vault-provider company.

New contract creation + security audit, we are looking at minimum 1 month.

Trailofbits and solidified are two good audit companies.

Having a bug bounty for vulnerable code would also help.
