I would like to read such summary of what happened, how the GOLD contract was attacked, which vulnerability hacker used, if he gained anything from this (I hope only headache )?
We can learn a lot from this case, wonder if hacker made any mistake thanks to which law enforcements will be able to track him?
I assume that help from exchanges will be needed but it should be no problem.
Dear wwzsocki,
Ambisafe, the smart contract developer, made an elementary mistake. The error allowed doubling the number of tokens during the transfer.
The most interesting thing is that Chainsecurity did not find this error during the contract audit.
As we have already told, we did not save money on the smart contract development. We ordered its development and audit from leading companies in the blockchain industry.
And as we have already noted, it is not enough to break the smart contract. Since this does not provide an opportunity to steal physical gold from the storage.
This is the difference between the GOLD token and 99% of other tokens, and even from gold ETFs where there is no real physical gold backing.
