Thanks for the answer.  I'm staking 5000 split up into inputs of 50 at the moment, staking about 1 GP every 3 hours which works out about 0.1%/day or 3%/month.
I've pretty much decided I'm in for the long haul so if it would actually improve the staking I'd be happy to sink a couple of hours splitting up into inputs of e.g. 5 coins.  I've done it before for another wallet where the stated rules were "as many inputs as possible".  I suppose 1 GP inputs is a little low since with a fee of 0.2GP you're losing 20% of your coins to do that.
Another point I was considering was - at the moment I am getting 1GP rather than the stated maximum per input of 2.5GP.  SO perhaps I should INCREASE the block size so that I gain weight more quickly, and stake close to the maximum of 2.5 per input.

So my 2 questions are

1 - will it improve staking if I split up into even smaller blocks like 3-5GP? Or should I increase the size of the blocks until I'm getting near-maximum stake rewards, like 2.4GP per time?
&
2 - is there a way of using coin control or anything to split the inputs, or do you just have to send them to yourself in lots of transactions?

Thanks again

Hi, I'm sorry. I know the technical side of getting these wallets to work, and everything. But how the staking works internally for GoldPieces, I don't know. I'm sure HYPERFuture will explain when he gets on. Maybe someone else can help on that too.

Ok - thanks @MakingMoneyHoney they are staking now and gaining weight, took a couple of days but to be fair I think I accidentally suspended my virtual machine for a few hours which can't have helped!
Front page of Bittrex too! I got impatient so I bought some from the sell side, bad trading I know  Cheesy
- still holding out for some dumps though as if I get twice the coins at half the price I'm sure that's worth a fair amount of staking time...
I've been sending coins from the exchange in blocks of 50, is that working out for everyone or do you use bigger or smaller inputs?
Thanks

ok time to stake till we have more GoldPieces than Smaug  Cool

From HYPERFuture at the beginning of the thread:

"Staking at a rate of 500% thereafter Currently you can only stake 2.5 GP per block, no matter how many coins you are staking in one input. This has kept inflation low which is good, however soon there will be a fork to make the staking work like HYPER, as well as to keep max coins at 1 500 000 GP or so. GP will remain rare and valuable. "

So it is best to split the inputs into many blocks.

Also - how long do coins take to mature?  I sent mine to the wallet about 36 hrs ago & still not staking because coins not mature...?

Thanks

Yeah GoldPieces take a while to stake. There will be a new wallet that stakes better in the future, but we're all still waiting for it.

Hello guys
I'm new in the community and saw that the goldpieces seems like a coin with a good future. I will invest in this coin.  Wink Wink

Yeah, i am thinking about that too...

Holy shit, GP wallet is really fast, sync and wallet opening is taking in light speed almost....great work...bought some GP and the rest is history.  Grin

Thanks Smiley With the latest update we have optimized the wallet a lot for speed and ease of use with the latest QT libraries.

Thank you for being here in the early days guys. In another week or two things are going to start getting very interesting.

If anyone reading this wants to help run an online game / RPG that integrates GP please PM me to discuss opportunities and bounties.

Hi everyone

Just thought I would post a mini update.

Here are my current priorities (in order):

- GP Roadmap / Strategy Document
- GP Wiki
- GP PR campaign to announce both of the above and GP's sponsorship of indie sci fi game Captain Disaster.

Mid term goals:

- Get GPRPG.com fully operational with a GP integrated RPG game (if I haven't heard back from the dev for that project within a week I will find someone else to work on it).

- A few other developers have reached out to me with ideas for GP supported games. More announcements will be made when the time is right.

- Fork will also be arranged within the next few months. GP should go up in value over the coming months and then we can make sure the dev work is done right.

For now the best MMO RPG with full GP integration and trading is Dragon Knights of Valeria you can play it at http://dknight.ml

Ok good info will tackle that tomorrow.
Thanks again
John

No problem thanks for being here in the early stages!

Sweet good buy then - thanks

Thanks for the support.

So got a few GP now.  Is it worth the effort to send them back from the exchange to wallet in multiple chunks then (to the same address?) to maximise staking?  What would the optimum size input be - or is it literally as many as possible/feasible?
 Thanks

You can break them up into smaller chunks using coin control in the wallet (so you don't need to send to and from an exchange). Optimum size seems to be 50 GP per input at the moment. This is what the fork will address when we get it done in the future.

Ok - thanks very much for the answer - and you are staying with the coin long-term?

No problem. Yes, just like with HYPER I am here for the long term. As well as space games I love RPGs so I have a soft spot for GoldPieces (GP), which is why I agreed to take over the coin when the community asked me. I actually get asked to take over coins all the time but this is the only other coin I want to work with right now.

We have secured the GPRPG.com domain, a developer had volunteered to work on the project but I haven't heard from him in a while. I will be actively looking for a GPRPG developer in another week or two if I haven't heard back from him by then.

Will be setting up a GP wiki and releasing a roadmap document soon as well.

HYPER is still my main project. GP is more of a slow burn. But in a year I am sure it will be much more popular, just like HYPER.

What's the staking % rate nowadays?
Thanks

Hey nembit.

GP has a 500% per annum staking rate, but the actual inflation is much lower as there is a cap of 2.5 GP that can be staked from every input. Current rate is around 5% per month (roughly). Staking will be fixed in a future wallet update but it will be at around 2.5 % per month so that GP remains valuable.

There is also a new GP wallet with newer libraries and also connectivity improvements, and also this wallet has the seed node hardcoded in this client, so no need to mess with nodes anymore, they connect to network right away!

https://github.com/palmd/GoldPieces/releases

The full fork will cost ~ 3 BTC and I can't afford the whole thing myself right now but it will happen eventually.

GP is a long term project and there will be many more exciting announcements made in future as we move forward.
