@RivAngE. Yes Monero. There are some developers left in the cryptospace who are still pursuing a real open project without relying on Asics because it has become a higher barrier for anyone to become a miner.

Grin will be Asics only in maybe 2 years?

@felipepoide79. Bittrex coin wallet maintenance might last for a few hours or a few days in my experience. However, for cryptocoins with active development similar to Grin, it will not be long.

@Hueristic. There were already 4 audits for RandomX. All of them speculates favorable towards asic resistance.

But it's been a few weeks now

You're talking about Monero, right?
I don't think I've read about RandomX and GRIN anywhere.
Isn't one of the GRIN's algorithms still GPU-Only?

@Texacha. You are correct because all asic resistant mining algorithms are always vulnerable to botnets. We should thank them for helping make the blockchain more secure.

I had given up on mining for the summer period, so much heat for so little gain.
How are things lately guys? How much shall I expect with a 1080ti? Is it still $1/day at best?

http://ravencalc.xyz/

You use this app to find out about the mining profitability I hope this will help you to let know about your revenue. I will recommend to buy on current instead of mine this coin which is good choice.

It doesn't seem to be up-to-date since it's showing $3 / 1080ti / 24h , that's too much!
Those calculators cannot always be trusted, but since WhatToMine.com shows $1 I guess I'll trust them, they should be at lease close to the real earnings.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
@Hueristic. I reckon it proves that there is nothing asic resistant. However, Monero's change of mining algorithm to RandomX might be the first serious change to prove that there is asic resistance or the last serious try that might prove that it is impossible hehe.

Nothing is impossible but the goal is to make an asic economically unfeasible which will always be a moving goalpost. Especially when your efforts are rewarded which in turn makes the asset class you are protecting worth more, its almost like a inversely proportional proposition.

@layer1gfx. Grin's monetary policy is also designed to gain wider adoption than bitcoin because of infinite emmission.

Also, I reckon that other characteristics of Grin is correcting the mistakes of other cryptocoins like the mistake of deciding for Asic resistance of Monero, the mistake of nonfungibility in bitcoin and the mistake of a capped supply of most cryptocoins that might limit its distribution and adoption.

Actually Grins Cockoo cycle POW was originally conceived to be asic resistant. Wink

You can look back were I ask Tromp how that would work once HBM came out.

Has anyone created a chart for Grin's hashrate with the correct information finally? Different websites have different hashrates.

https://grin.report/d/xoo9N43iz/chain?orgId=1&from=now-90d&to=now is pretty accurate AFAICT.
So are https://grin-fans.org/en/chart/difficulty and https://grinscan.net/charts but these have fixed timeframes...

https://grinmint.com/ doesnt pay my payout request. I have been waiting for a day !!
Does anyone know anything ?

The problem with enrollment may be on the recipient's (exchange's) side. It is better to recheck the recipient's address once again. With grinmint.com never had a problem, I confirm.
For example, on the HitBTC currently, the deposit is impossible, the status is offline.

Where are u gonna get enrolled? To military service I guess. I will be your paid guide. I make living showing people the inside of a military camp, how to use rifles and beat up people with the most efficacy. A couple times a day I face issues with people not willing to pay for my service. I chunk them badly with my fist and take the money and everything out of their pockets while they are unconscious.
