Happy New Year to all !!! So what new features would the community like to see from Guncoin this year? We have asked multiple times and not heard much.   You folks asked for Masternodes and we gave them to you.  What would you like to see that you would use???

I hope everyone has a nice holiday season.  As a warning, be aware there are several individuals working Telegram for coins making outrageous offers to buy coins.  It really is too good to be true.  They are scammers.  Eventually, they will direct you to one of several "escrow" sites that look legit, but are nothing but a store front to steal your coins.

Some of theses are transactwise.co.uk, chesterpact.com and exchangecrib.com.  All are run by same group of scammers - so beware. The last one is brand new only registered a few weeks ago and the first tow have been around for months and already have scam alerts posted on them.  Please spread this word to other coins that you are aware of that have followings on Telegram. Again - happy holidays to you all and have a safe and happy new year.

Thanks for the head's up...

So I still cant get my Mac wallet to run, same issue as above.

I'm trying to run the Linux wallet on  Debian 10. It launches but is not connecting to any peers. Any thoughts?

If I can get this Linux version to connect I will just copy over my wallet.dat and use it instead..

Update: I got it working. Had to add "prune=0" to the config file to get it to open..

GUN has not gone silent and for sure is not dying by any means.  If you look at our 4-5 year history, we tend to sit and watch technology develop and then when the time is right make changes.  It is very costly to develop a coin and maintain it.  Our preference is to to let others spend the money to learn what works and what does not. For those who were not paying attention.  We see a runup in GUN this week to almost 9 sats.  Hoping the dumpers to not jump in and we can hold that price.

I will go back to what I have said for 4 years, we cannot be everything for this coin ourselves. We sit and wait for anyone of you to do anything to support the coin with something other than masternodes, but we see nothing - that is very disappointing. You begged us for masternodes and new bells and whistles and we provided them and no one is taking advantage of them - that is a shame.   Is Satoshi still marketing Bitcoin?   Hmmm, probably not.  We await to here what you would like to see next and what any of you can do to help!  We are supposed to be a decentralized coin!

Hm. If you haven't changed the conf file, you can try starting the client with a new, temporary, empty wallet. Save the original wallet in some other data dir, start up the client, if it starts, shut it down and put the original wallet back again. Or, you can try manually adding txindex=1 in the conf file. That overrides gui checkboxes.

Tried both of those and no dice. That pref setting must come from somewhere else on the Mac. Tried deleting ~/Library/prefrences/...guncoin... and didnt fix the issue either.

Basically has become unusable...

Hi All, I checked the Prune option in the wallet and now I get this warning when trying to open the wallet:

"Prune mode is incompatible with -txindex." and it will not open now.

How do I fix this? (Im on Mac wallet version 2.0.0)

There any plans this project will get moving again?  Might we see this get some effort in development where we might see it trading again?  Always loved the idea behind this project and have held onto to some since it first came out but damn this seems dead in the water for so long now:-(

Is there something wrong with the wallet again?  Won't come up again after a restart, this seems to be a problem 70% of the time...have to shut the wallet down and it doesn't want to come back up.  Royal pain it has been!

Is network down?  Wallet won't come up even after re-build.

It appears that our website server is having some memory issues.  Nothing to be alarmed about, we have seen this before.  We will get the website back up ASAP.

GUN Privkey: 6dRuurHdN5TJRNmLyRMSyc8AuGtJNizF5ugZt5EArfe8a1bGfVA

The prefix is customisted Wink

Thanks for your help !
Prefix bytes, you can see in '/src/chainparams.cpp', as decimal values.
For GunCoin-mainnet, the prefixes, you can see here: https://github.com/guncoin/guncoin/blob/f00674afed339fa19185ac35f19434a0ba85147c/src/chainparams.cpp#L142
As you can see in this commit: https://github.com/username1565/brainwallet.github.io/commit/0d3133024a4311f429f3cb0dd043f2f24c25d191
Guncoin, just for test, was been added here: https://username1565.github.io/brainwallet.github.io/
Maybe there need to use uncompressed keys and addresses.
P.S. Yeap, this using uncompressed keys and addresses, and after changing this here:
https://github.com/username1565/brainwallet.github.io/commit/36a80b408f8b391e246936a20659c91a0a6497b3
this seems, like working good.

Also, as you can see in the description of this commit: https://github.com/username1565/brainwallet.github.io/commit/36c2bb37b5054493dc3425fea1d3afbfe0aef950
the value "strMessageMagic" contains in the file https://github.com/guncoin/guncoin/blob/master/src/validation.cpp
and this value is allow to sign and verify messages,
and make this client-side, in browser, without downloading the full qt-wallet,
without synchronize the any blockchain, and without connection to the network.

The Concierge of Crypto
I would suggest you use native segwit addresses as they are supported. Just use the wallet itself to generate them and backup or save the wallet. For the ones you generated you can always test them yourself by importing the private keys to the desktop wallet and send some coins.
