It is a great pleasure for us to announce that Kalmar, a decentralized bank powered by DeFi and NFT, has entered into cooperation with Hacken to address the existing and potential security threats. DeFi and NFT are the two fast-developing technological fields that draw the attention of both ethical researchers and black hat hackers. At the beginning of 2021, the DeFi protocol EasyFi reported a hack that caused damage worth $80 mln. Hackers could steal keys to the project’s admin accounts. This case demonstrates how vulnerable to hacks are the project employing the most recent technological solutions. Hacken continues cross-chain expansion to Binance Smart Chain

What are blockchain bridges?
Blockchain bridges are connections used to transfer tokens between different blockchain protocols while allowing for interoperability between different blockchain networks such as Ethereum, Vechain, and Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

Why do we need bridges?
In the future, cross-chain interoperability will be an indispensable characteristic of DeFi and crypto tokens. We do not want to restrict our community from trading on popular DEXs such as Uniswap and Pancakeswap. That is why Hacken created a pair on Uniswap in the middle of 2020.

From now on, users will be able to transfer their tokens between different EVM-based blockchains, trade on the best DEX platforms, and make deposits to centralized exchanges in a more convenient way. Also, compatibility with Ethereum and BSC simplifies listing on the top exchanges.

We keep on expanding this list to support non-EVM-based blockchains with our Solana bridge for ensuring lightning-fast transaction speed and further interoperability for our vaults.

▶️ Fujifilm has experienced a ransomware attack
Anne Neuberger, the top cyber official at the National Security Council, released an open letter warning organizations to take actions to prevent risks. Fujifilm, the Japanese conglomerate, has fallen victim to the massive ransomware attack. Malicious actors accessed without authorization the company’s servers and the entity has been forced to shut down its network. It took the company 2 days to investigate the scope of the attack that has affected the entity’s phone and email services.


▶️ A new backdoor has been created by Chinese cybercriminals to spy on governments
The Chinese threat actors have created the special backdoor used in cyberespionage campaigns. According to Check Point Research, it took the Chinese actors 3 years to design, develop, test, and deploy the backdoor to attack the systems of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Southeast Asian government. The spear phishing messages impersonated other departments of the same government. The malicious actors were using the weaponized, official-looking documents sent via email to target members of staff.
