Just listed my personal belongings for sale, HODL-only, to try and increase our trade volume and real-life usability!
https://selfish.space/cryptorium

All prices listed are in HODL, and each item has its own payment address. If anyone wants to purchase something, just send the amount to the address and shipping inside the lower 48 states will be included (barring any unforeseen circumstances, i.e. >100% of item $value for ship cost, etc; will work with buyer on any weird issues).
Tried to list everything at BELOW what I would list it for on Craigslist at about a value of 138 sats. I am going to keep adding things as I have time to make photos and do the listings. Let's get some coins flowing!  Cool

Try running in Win 7 compatibility mode. A lot of mining software fails in Win 10.
I have had no issues with the 64 bit wallet on Win10. I have successfully found several blocks over the last few days using the wallet miner. Is it possible that there is a specific piece of hardware that is causing this issue when using Win10?

That's a great question and I can note that 2 AMD boxes mine just fine while an Intel box crashes and yet all three of these boxes have identical memory sticks and identical video cards, identical SSD boot drives, identical sata hard drives, identical DVD roms and the list goes on even identical PSU's and liquid cooling fans lol.

The difference would be the cpu and motherboard only. Now what is also odd to me is that another user here said they were crashing using an AMD cpu and yet I'm not having any issue with my AMD's?

I think we need to start taking a hard look at the event viewer logs for everyone who crashes and see if that will give us any better clues...

The new wallet crashes all the time, Windows 64-bit and 32-bit.

Did not have any issues with v.2

Any fix for this?

What CPU and operating system are you using?

I have this issue and so does one other person I heard mention it and so now you would be the third person I've heard having a problem.

So far the issue cropped up on an AMD and Intel CPU using Windows 10.

Try running in Win 7 compatibility mode. A lot of mining software fails in Win 10.

After noticing an "access violation (permission error)" in my event viewer I did try running in Win 7 compatibility mode but that did not prove to be a solution in my case.

G'day!
any plans for the pool to add nicehash support?
last time i tried it didn't work because of the difficulty beeing too low.

You'll get a far better return with Equihash or DaggerHashimoto.

I can put together a 32 bit windows binary .exe for testing if that would be helpful (I'm not set up for 64 bit builds), it would include the fixes for sorting, but would be unsuitable for mining.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-5Ax5kejTpMNDFUWGZNeGhnTVE

Here it is.

No good for mining, but you can use this to sort your HOdlings and run an empty wallet for your mining.

I just downloaded and ran this and so far it's flawless.  I was expecting no sorting capability but it still sorts hodlings (I assumenow that I would have to start it with the flag to turn them off).  Even tied to my ridiculous wallet (2846 Hodlings at the moment) it's running perfectly.  I don't get it but I'll take it.  I haven't tried turning on mining since you specify to not do that.  So what's different about this wallet?  I tried both the 32 and 64 bit versions of 3.0 on several machines and had problems every time so I don't think it's the 32bit vs 64bit version that's different.  Is it just the mining optimizations that are stripped out?

And thank you!  The 3.0 wallet was driving me nuts.

That release includes ghobson's fix so the sorting is not done quite so often, improving the performance. but it's a 32 bit build so the mining isn't optimized on it. Once we have a new release, it'll do the best of both worlds. There's another, i think different, issue causing some systems to crash when mining starts.

FreeTrade this is why we need a release note Wink

So the full extent of my changes in the latest code are:

1 - a new flag called sorthodlings was added to allow users to disable sorting completely reverting back to 2.0 behavior on the overview page.
2 - sorting is enabled by default, but instead of sorting on every row , during the table updates, it is now only sorting after the whole table is populated with hodlings information.
3 - At the advice of FreeTrade a format change was done to the way we display block numbers ( right justified ), this allows the alphabetical formatting Qt does to be more usefull.

Hope this clarifies the changes.
ps: Now we just need Fuzzbawls to build the official binaries.

nicehash don't add coins that have a very low volume and low hashrate, maybe when this coin get more attention and the hashrate climb a bit they will add this, the algo is not pro gpu either, and nicehash is about gpu than cpu

Profit at mining is not good now like another coins, coin price need up to x10 for this Wink

Thanks for 32 bit, low cost notebooks make with 32 bit Win10

Siacoin only 64 bit wallet, it is not optimal

Ah freetrade im about to spend just one minute and give you a complement, I appreciate you being active again. I appreciate you updating the code, I appreciate you continuing to work out these problems. Fish

before the fork to auto-hodl nicehash had added hodl protocol to the available benchmarks so I assume that means it was available to mine with them.  once we unfork shortly maybe they will add it back.

the hodl algorithm is allready mineable on nicehash. it is just not compatible with the pool atm.

I have this issue and so does one other person I heard mention it and so now you would be the third person I've heard having a problem.

So far the issue cropped up on an AMD and Intel CPU using Windows 10.

Windows 10, i7 prosessor on laptop..

I am not trying to mine with wallet. It crashes/hangs right after startup (not responding)

We're seeing an issue if you've got a lot of Hodlings - that can happen if you've been mining a lot, each block is a separate hodling. We've got a fix for it, but not a release yet. You can try restarting mining using an empty wallet, or I've released a win 32 binary that includes the fix but shouldn't be used for mining.

there is a difference between crash and hang , when it hang check out the last line of debug.log , does it say loading blockindextable ?

To clarify the fix FreeTrade is talking about, consist in new flag called "sorthodlings" by default it is set to "1" which means enabled, if you try out the 32bit wallet FreeTrade made, you need to start it with -sorthodlings=0  , this will tell the wallet to disable sorting for the hodling table on the main overview page.

Usually its more productive to submit issues on github rather than bitcointalk, https://github.com/HOdlcoin/HOdlcoin/issues
