This dumping is only temporary.

As I do not climb the stairs of the richlist (http://hyper.blockexplorer.cc/richlist/), the dumping seems to be done by small holders.
Is that assumption correct?

Thanks again meow!  So, if you don't use the wallet client, what do you use for HYPER safekeeping? Appears I have yet to see all HYPER has to offer Smiley

Np!

I just use the Hyper headless daemon. Basically, it just runs as a background process and can be controlled via the terminal. I think the desktop wallet is nice, but I think it's a tad slow for me, and syncing does take a bit of time, among other things. Since I have access to a couple of virtual servers, I just start up the daemon on one of them, and it does the job. Once the web wallet is released, I will move and hold my funds on there.  Wink

Is anyone else concerned with the amount of dumping taking place?  With HYPERfuture being back, I'd say this is a little more than cold feet due to his recent absence.  Seems someone has information we do not Undecided

Anyone else have any ideas Huh

I'm not at all concerned. I don't think this will be too much to worry about.

Thanks for your input meowball!! I've been waiting for my opportunity to truly "buy in" anyway Grin

@clovis: There wasn't a clear answer to the stake weight question yet, so I would like to chime in. The stake weight represents all your coin ages in your wallet. Even if your wallet is not open, your coin blocks develop stake weight everyday. When you do earn a stake by leaving your wallet open, your stake weight should go down a little because the block that just staked now have 0 age. In your wallet, you may have hundreds of blocks that are staking, and it's not dependent on how many different addresses/accounts that you have. Rather, if you receive HYPER from someone, you will at least have one new block that is staking. It's a bit confusing, but I hope that makes sense. It's also the reason why if you send yourself all your coins in one transaction, you will start staking a lot more consistently and earn larger amounts of HYPER at larger time intervals. Remember that you earn stakes once a day at most with HYPER's design per block. If you notice that you are earning more stakes per day, that means you have multiple blocks that are staking. If you constantly receive HYPER from someone, you are earning more blocks that are staking. However, many of those blocks are probably staking very small amounts of HYPER.

Basically, stake weight is (# of coins in a block) * (amount of time that has passed for that block). Therefore, the more coins you have in one block, the higher stake weight you have which means the better chance you have of earning a stake. Once you earn a stake with that block, the stake weight for that block goes back down to 0. But since you will likely have many blocks, that's why earning one stake won't change the graph too much.

Also, thanks for answering my staking question yesterday!  Although, you may have missed the fact that I do not have any HYPER in my wallet at this time. Shame on me, they're still on bittrex! Embarrassed

So, with this in mind, if the wallet staking graph displays individual stake, shouldn't the graph always show zero (being that I have zero coins in my wallet)? Or does the graph display network stake?

If it's network stake, shouldn't there be enough HYPER staking at any point in time to keep the network weight from going to zero?  I see this happening from time to time, so this is really what I was trying to figure out.

Hope I'm making sense....

Hmm... interesting. I don't use the desktop wallet much, so I am not super familiar with the stake weight graph. However, I do understand the concept of it. You are right though. If you have 0 HYPER in your wallet, your stake graph should be at zero, which makes me wonder what the point of the stake weight graph really is. Now, I am really curious! haha. PD, the person who implemented the feature into the desktop wallet, should have a better idea. Not sure where he is at the moment, but you could try to PM him at PalmDetroit.

Hey everyone!

...   I am currently arranging a big PR campaign to announce our sponsorship of Troll Song, as well as the huge crypto crowdfunding site we are working on with EMC2, and other coins. The crowdfunding site will mean people can develop games that support HYPER ...

Will the web-wallet be integrated with the Space MMO?

OOT:
The forums aren't really used much are they?
I've tried signing up for Space MMO dev team through there too haha.

And the Hyper Foundation would be a great idea.
I'd help out in any way possible too.

I'm not sure if the web wallet will be integrated with the MMO. It is certainly possible and a good use case. It could be nice to provide options for gamers.

As for the HYPER forums, I know I see posts in the CS server section all the time, although more-or-less about the same thing. I think there could be a chat room on the HYPER forums to help attract more people to it a bit more. For the most part, all announcements seem to work better on the BCT forums because there are more people on it. I think it would be useful to have more discussions on the HYPER forums, but it seems all the questions come to BCT forums anyway. I think a good way which I tried a while ago was set up some kind of progress report for any apps or projects that are being made on the HYPER forums. That way, it has information that provides incentive and can be linked to direct traffic to it from the BCT forums. A good incentive could be discussions/planning/development logs for the MMO game.

Web Wallet Update
I know some of you are curious what is happening with this. I'm still working very hard on it! The web wallet is a full-fledged solution with lots of quality-of-life improvements to the desktop wallet in addition to a multitude of different features. Key benefits are that the web wallet is very user-friendly and usable, easily accessible anywhere and anytime without any downloads, allows for anonymous transactions, and is more secure than your personal desktop wallet.

Some Features
You can...
- search your transactions by username, address, amount, and message content.
- filter your transactions by sent, received, and staked.
- add other users (and also external users by address) to your contacts list, and assign nicknames to contacts.
- search your contacts by username, address, and nickname.
- filter your contacts by internal and external users.
- send messages to other users when you send HYPER, and view messages other users left you with their transactions.
- view notifications of unviewed recent transactions.
- discuss/comment on transactions that only the other user that you transacted with can see and comment.
- upload an image to represent yourself which will be shown to other users when you transact or when they add you as a contact.
- send HYPER to other web wallet users instantly with 0 fees.
- deposit and withdraw HYPER anonymously via confuscation.
- view your balance, notifications changes, and view and create transactions and comments in real-time.
- receive guranteed stakes daily.

*Majority of the above have been completed.

There is a bunch more things that I am working on. Also, the above features list is not exhaustive. There is a lot more that is on the timeline.  Wink There are also a whole load of other things I have to deal with behind the scenes as well which can take as much or more work as the website.

I wanted to have the web wallet ready for testing by the end of this past weekend, but it will take a bit longer to get everything ready. I apologize for the delays, but because this is a large project, I have to be extra careful. Quality comes first. Luckily, there is one person who is helping me, and he has been doing a fantastic job with creating the css and stylizing the website. When the web wallet is ready for public testing, and it is released, things will become very exciting!  Smiley

Mine's caught up and showing my balance now too.  Cheesy

When it comes time to turn HYPER into USD / GBP / Euros (none of my dev team want cryptocurrency!), what's the easiest / most effective way to do this?  Is there an exchange that will perform the action directly or would I have to turn my HYPER into BTC first, and then turn the BTC into USD etc?

There is no super easy way to do this yet. Sad However, one way right now is to exchange HYPER in the exchanges just as you mentioned. You can follow this:
http://hypercrypto.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page#Buy_HYPER_With_USD.2C_BTC.2C_DOGE.2C_LTC_on_Exchanges.

Check this out as well which is a bit further down the page of the link above.
