what happened to hyper poker?

I think Master0 is fixing bugs and incorporating a hot wallet.

Unfortunately, Master0 has gone on a break, and there is a technical issue with the HYPER wallet on the new hosting.

I am going to try and get it sorted this week as a priority.

Guys let me know your feedback on the idea of a HYPER Foundation: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10468401 Let's put in place a long term foundation, to ensure HYPER reaches it goal of becoming THE in-game cryptocurrency and remains a top cryptocurrency long into the future. The amazing community we have here is the seed of an awesome HYPER Foundation I am sure.

The client takes so long to load the block index sometimes :/
sometimes it doesn't open at all

Are you using the latest wallet version from https://github.com/palmd/Hyper/releases/ ?

I completely agree. the developers cant be expected to work if we wont even work to spread our own ideas! I want to be able to trade hyper for anything in video games. And when this does take off, we will be incredibly wealthy in the vast virtual worlds that have yet to be created.

If we want that glorious future to happen, then we have to work hard every day finding new members to trade with and spread the news about the Trade Federation. We will overcome the republic and become the future kings of galaxies, this is worth it. The developers are just the skeleton of this fantastic community. We are the muscles, eyes, ears and mouth of this movement.

If they cant count on us to fight in this rebellion, then how are we supposed to rely on them??? They should be able to be silent for a month while we fighting for a fairer future for in-game trading.

Thanks for the support! I will give someone 5000 HYPER from my personal HYPER to make a website where people can trade HYPER for many other in-game currencies. I have plans for a decentralized HYPER exchange for other in-game currencies - but that is a while off and I think a website for now would be awesome. The HYPER Trade Federation has a nice ring to it I like it Wink

Question:  Why does the stake weight graph within the wallet sporadically drop to zero?  I've seen this happen from time to time.... is this an accurate reading or is it a minor glitch in the software?

Thanks in advance Smiley

This is because coins stake once every 24 hours. So if the coins have just staked then the stake weight is low. When another 24 hours has passed then the stake weight is high again. It is not a bug Wink

Thanks much!  So, this means there are times when zero coins are being staked across the entire network?  I figured there would be enough staking wallets out there for the NW stake to always be above zero.  Am I understanding this correctly?

That weight is your personal weight I thought... not the network as a whole.

Seems it must be the NW weight; I have yet to move any of my HYPER into the wallet.  If it were the individual weight, my wallet would always be at zero

I think the staking question I asked can be explained by the exuberant amount of coins being dumped this month and the fact that said coins are no longer staking.

With that in mind, did I miss something..... why all the dumpage lately?  Is this due to HYPERfuture's absence of late or is this somewhat normal for HYPER?  I've only been watching this coin closely for about a month now, so I am curious if the HYPER OG's can offer any analysis?

Thanks much!! Smiley

Unfortunately, yes this is most likely due to my recent absence. Many other coins have suffered from disappearing devs, and while I would never do this to HYPER people do get understandably nervous, even if I am just away for a week.

Because I really care about HYPER, and think it is silly that if I am away for a week the value suffers, that is why I am proposing we form a HYPER Foundation, as well as moving forward with some large PR campaigns this week about the indie game and crowdfunding site HYPER is working on: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10468401

Please let me know what you guys think about the HYPER Foundation idea above guys. Ideally I want it formed by this Friday!

Hey everyone!

So I have decided we should form a HYPER Foundation to help push HYPER and its goals forward.

5-10 people can do much more than I can do alone, and the foundation would be responsible for things like managing twitter and social media, as well as maintaining a daily presence here on the forum, and planning for HYPER's large projects like the main Space MMO.

There is 400 000 HYPER in the MMO Development Fund, which means the project has 20 000 staked HYPER per month to work with to move HYPER forward. At the moment about 10-12K are used to pay for server hosting and to pay out competitions each month. That meas if there are 5 members, each member can be rewarded 2K HYPER per month for their participation, if there are 10 members, each member can earn 1K per month for their participation. I will retain veto power over any ideas, however I don't want to be paid any HYPER each month. I will still be responsible for finding more games for HYPER to sponsor, and for helping to arrange HYPER PR campaigns like the 2 campaigns I have ready to be launched over the next week. I think a foundation will help push HYPER forward as I see a lot of enthusiasm and ideas, and unfortunately because I can no longer be logged in here 12 hours a day at the moment much of this energy is going to waste Sad

Here are some people I propose should be on the foundation:

- Meowball - he set up http://hypergg.com that lists all the HYPER game servers and competitions, and he is also working on the anonymous, mobile staking HYPER web wallet.

- Ignatius - He runs most of the HYPER game servers including CS, CSGO, Assetta Corsa racing.

- JTNichols - JT has made many HYPER videos and has many great ideas on how to push HYPER forward

- Falcon - Falcon runs the HYPER steam game code store at http://hyperbundle.com and was also running the HYPER steam game code giveaways for quite some time.

- Gladimor - Gladimor has helped HYPER from its early days as an art designer for the MMO, and has experience as a coin community manager. He could probably help manage the HYPER twitter account too.

- TeamDisaster- He is the developer of the Troll Song indie game HYPER is sponsoring, and has shown he really wants to help HYPER succeed.

- Justin Geifer - He is our USA Business Developer, and frequently goes on podcasts and makes weekly HYPER news videos.

- If there is anyone I have forgotten please let me know! Anyone can apply! I think 5-10 members would be ideal.

An important part of the HYPER foundation, is they can perhaps decide how to spend the remaining 400 000 HYPER in the MMO Development Fund to help push HYPER forward and develop the Space MMO.

What do you guys think? Let me know!

I think this will be much better as it means there will be "official" HYPER people online all the time, helping to push HYPER forward. 5-10 people can accomplish much more than 1 person alone and I truly believe this can help propel HYPER to new heights, and help make up for the fact that I can't be online 24/7, like I was for some months before. I am currently arranging a big PR campaign to announce our sponsorship of Troll Song, as well as the huge crypto crowdfunding site we are working on with EMC2, and other coins. The crowdfunding site will mean people can develop games that support HYPER, and be funded by the community for this. I have pretty much finished the Whitepaper.

So my goals this week are:

1.) Release Whitepaper

2.) Start the 2 PR campaigns about HYPER sponsoring Troll Song and the crypto crowdfunding site

3.) Finish paying out some of the HYPER competitions like twitter competitions I haven't paid out

4.) Most importantly - have the HYPER foundation set up by this Friday

Let me know your thoughts guys! You're all a part of this community and I want to know what you think, if you are interested in being on the HYPER Foundation (whether you are listed above or not), and if you like the idea of a HYPER Foundation.

Game on everyone!

hi everyone - I'm a big HYPER fan and love all the work being doing by everyone in the community.

I've been staking since August using the Mac wallet, but have recently run into some problems. I upgraded to the 1.5.3 wallet and things were working OK. I accidentally opened the old wallet and now I'm having trouble with wallet.dat and blkindex. Luckily, I've been backing up my wallet.dat every few days so I just need to get up and running. I have different computer, a Mac mini, that I just downloaded a fresh copy of the new wallet on with the intention of running it with a wallet.dat backup. I opened Hyper-Qt and starting downloading the blockchain, but it is taking FOREVER. I started it at around 7pm yesterday and this morning at 7am it was at about 15%. It keeps getting stuck, so I end the program and restart and then it gets a bunch of blocks and eventually get stuck again. Am I just being impatient or does there seem to be a problem?

What is my best bet - should I stick with the Mac wallet or should I set up a Windows or Linux VM on my mac and run the wallet there? Anyone have experience doing that?

I've been emailing/tweeting @HyperCrypto and he's been helping me, but I know he's busy and wanted to see if anyone else had some ideas.

Thanks in advance for your help. Again, I love HYPER and love how bright the future looks!

Hi cryptoskibum!

What you are experiencing is normal, and unfortunately it's something HYPER will continue to face because of its design. The best way is to download the bootstrap. Backup your wallet.dat, and replace the blk0001.dat file with the blk dat file in the bootstrap. You may also need to delete the blkindex file. Remember to not delete the wallet.dat file! When you restart the client, it should automatically load the bootstrap. This will also take some time but not nearly as much as starting from scratch.

hey meowball - does it matter that I'm running a Mac wallet and that the bootstrap files are labelled WIN, will they work?

Yes, it should still work. You don't need all the files in that bootstrap zip. You only really just need to replace the blk0001.dat file.

@TheEGN: I forgive you, and everyone should. Anyone can make mistakes. It just so happened that you felt it necessary to leave with a bang, and people remember you for that. When you first messaged me in the forum and subsequently afterwards with some interesting discussions, I thought you were going to be a very valuable member of the community, and I still think that. You were enthusiastic about the zombie counterstrike server, and you were active in the forums. I don't care who are you or what you've done. I only care about now, and so should everyone else. But, that's just me talking. You can do whatever you want to, but I'm going to choose to let this go. I think if you have any server ideas, you should go for it by all means!

Thank you for personally forgiving me. I still think HYPERFuture should have a final say if I get any involvement or not.

As I said, I have a game server set up at egnzombieriot.no-ip.org. Test it out and see if you like it. Of course it does not have HYPER integration yet (If ever due to my history) but if it's something you'd like to see, someone could manage the payouts while I could manage the server itself.

I will be fairly inactive for a few days due to valentines day but I will be back asap to see what everyone has to say.

Cheers.

P.S. - Nice job with the web wallet.

The web wallet should be ready for testing by the end of the weekend. I apologize for the delay. There has been a lot of work done for it. Once it is released, I will have time to revamp the hypergg website with community-recommended changes. Thanks everyone for being awesome! And please, please, please stay positive. I noticed random posts recently from people saying that the devs were inactive, and that they dislike/distrust/etc HYPER for that reason. I can tell you with full confidence that it's not just the devs that make up the community. It's as much or more dependent on the community itself. The community is the fuel. The beautiful part about HYPER is that anyone is highly encouraged to be involved in whatever way they want to. Anyone can be a contributor.
