Hey all, sorry I've been quiet for a while. I got really sick, but still had to keep going to work anyway.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! I haven't forgotten or neglected the StarMade server, I just haven't been able to post any new stuff on the forums or elsewhere. There have been two updates since I started the server, both were applied within a day of release. I haven't been able to spend much personal time playing on the server (*sniffle*), but I intend to change that soon. I also want to set a goal, to have the first HYPER Tournament around mid-December! This will only be possible if we get enough regular players, and at least two active factions to compete, so round up your buddies, get on the StarMade HYPER server, form a faction, and start building ships! Don't forget to save blueprints of your favorite designs, as these
will be allowed in the tournament.
Some more random tips (I'll add these to the wiki, too):
* When forming a faction, communication is extremely important. Using a voice comms program is highly encouraged; if you don't have one of your own, the official HYPER TS3 server is open for everyone, and has a StarMade channel. Some other voice comms programs include Ventrillo, Mumble, and Dolby Axon. All are free to use, but Axon is the only one that doesn't require a server to connect to (server hosting is not free).
* Having a base of operations is also extremely important. A base allows you to secure your ships while offline, and begin production & manufacturing (so you can build bigger & better ships, without always having to go to shops to get blocks). Bases are also vital for factions, as
a faction's home base is invulnerable to attack, as well as any ships docked to the base. The only exception to this is war, as two factions at war
are allowed to attack each other's home bases.
More to come, and as always, feel free to ask any questions you may have! If I'm AFK, feel free to send me a PM here.
