IPO is closed? Is here still some way to get Safecoins?

The IPO is over but there are places that are selling them. https://masterxchange.com/market.php?orders=500¤cy=maid you cannot withdraw yet , they are building the feature in, But currently they are slightly lower than IPO value so you can get a better deal than if you were in the IPO

What I don't understand is how people can afford to sell their coins cheaper than what they paid them for? Makes no sense to me.

I'm not worried. I'll be worried in 6 months if the price never recovers... but it's way too early to panic. The media hype behind this project is going to be global.

After today's events...  it really makes me wonder how fast the Ethereum IPO will go...    Roll Eyes

I prefer MaidSafe to Ethereum.

What do you not like about Ethereum?

Unfortunately it looks like you guys bought a shitcoin, 50% loss already. At least you all didn't get totally scammed.

The only one making money here is the maidsafe team.

That's interesting, I didn't think 0.00003500 BTC was 50% of 0.00004090 BTC  Huh

Oh, neither does simple math.
The IPO was 17000 maid safe per BTC, around 6000 satoshis. I guess someone who cant do simple math would invest in this shit coin.

23800 per bitcoin actually. Please try again

I guess he forgot the 40% bonus. BTW turtle 3500 sato is, also, not 50% of 5882 sato- and that is if the IPO were 17000 maid/BTC, but it wasn't.

MaidSafe is full of hope for the future, but I think MaidSafe proceeds is larger, the expected returns may be less

The sell down to the lows, was executed by less people i can count on one hand, and one of those i suspect, has a fat-finger.

I get the feeling there are many new entrants here (welcome all), who may find these markets/order books just a tad intimidating. Thats understandable, but remember its going to be broad-based sentiment that decides mid to long term price/value, not an individuals emotion, confusion, or short term need. Just a thought.

Is there a trading thread yet?

Can Maidsafe be used to solve the "storage problem" of Bitcoin's blockchain data down the road?

That's a damn great question.

That seems like an interesting on how does the system tip for Bitcoins data to be stored there hmm

That is a damn interesting question.

I wonder if masterchain.info (web wallet) will be implementing MaidSafe support soon.
Their wallet works fine for simple sends with Mastercoin.  Would it not be trivial to add MaidSafe to it?
They are in beta at least.

Actually, it looks like masterchain.info is beyond beta now.
So can we not get them to add maidsafe?
They're already handling a bunch of master protocol currencies.

wow thats gotta be some sort of record for tanking price. The IPO has caused a lot of damage to the brand. Even NXT didn't manage this much scam.

It looks like the price is reverting to MSC  base price and away from BTC price.

It's more likely the early panic sellers unloading out of fear. The same people that were hoping to make 50-100% immediately after launch and forget about the project. Those days are likely over, or soon to be.

For me this is a longer-term investment. That being the case, it's a good time reduce cost basis through dollar-cost-averaging by picking up some extra shares on the cheap.
