I think changing algorythm is actual task. If ird will trade without asic resistance community can lost control.
Actual task is entering exchange.

I don't understand this fear of asic : it's the same difference with cpu/gpu. Why, if I make IRD asic proof, I do not have to make it gpu proof ? it will be fair too. Personally I do not have any rig, nor a correct GPU for mining.

One more time, IRD emission do not care about hashrate attacks due to the difficulty algorithm implemented in V2. monero or electroneum do not have this (yet). So, asic owner will earn the same IRD amount as one with 10 Vega but I want to see an asic proof of work first : cryptonight use huge memory to be computed.

From what I see, people think of their interest first, but not the interest of community.
I think we have to understand all the parameters before making a decision.

It's always the same game : buying/selling...

Thats good, but how about to change pow algorithm to another cryptonight variant, like monero and electroneum (v7)?
Why not, will see later, I have first to analyse all of consequences.
For now, we are focusing on the donations exchange and the next HF.

first thread updated :

We now are at 0.15BTC we are at 75% of our goal !!! Thank you !

...The only way to enter exchange is donations : we currently need 0.2BTC and we already have 0.082BTC,  it's 41% : http://ird.cash/donations-for-exchange...
crex is russian bullshit
Imo crex not too bad... better than stocks.exchange and much faster than cryptopia...
have  a lots of bad experience with the stocs and cryptopia but so far never had any problem with crex...

Iridium Core 3.0.0
POOL OPERATORS - PLEASE UPGRADE
HARD FORK MAR 19 - Block 95250
****************************************

From @SteeveBrush:

After many IRD mugs of coffee, Iridium Core 3.0.0 is ready!  That means it's time for a new Hard Fork.

The Hard Fork will be scheduled on Monday March 19, 2018 at block 95250 (don't ask, I like this number).  That should be around 12:00PM UTC time.

We want pool operators to upgrade ASAP.  The wallet is coming soon!

DOWNLOAD 3.0.0 HERE https://github.com/iridiumdev/iridium/releases/latest

Release
This is an "Exchange Prep" release and here's what's inside

  • blockchain sync is sped up
  • fix limits to stay safe on difficulty algorithm
  • Very tiny fix Zawy's coefficient. This will help the coin stick to target @ 175.0 s
  • security fix to prevent a potential exploit
  • get rid of annoying "Timeout error" when nodes leave
  • add difficulty per block to the query method for the block explorer
  • update seeds nodes to the 3 servers : MTL(CA), RBX(FR) and SDN(AU)
  • update checkpoints

Where's the wallet?
The wallet is coming soon! Should be up March 14th.

Special Note for Pool Operators!

The testnet is now configurable in the config file but you'll have to recompile.

The default testnet operation:

  • upgrade to V2 at block  2
  • upgrade to V3 at block 10
  • target 15s
Please test that your pool can pass block 10 in testnet mode.

Note: Best pool fork out of the box is forknote-pool. For handling V3 blocks, my testnet pool is setup with the forknote multi-hash lib.

Another useless answer : This is your opinion. If you have another proposition, do it !

Antoher "russian" exchange, 0.04 BTC for listing. ETN is present there - they support monero like coins.

Not enought good for start?

Tradeogre is not that bad.

I messaged Tradeogre from the twitter account.  If everyone can message Tradeogre and let them know to consider @iridium_project for the exchange, it will help a ton!
