Any news on exchange list ?
Hey Kevin,

I have been meaning to post an update on this.

In order to get on an exchange, we needed three things.

First is a community; that is you.

Second is Integration API/Docs.   That is on https://wiki.ird.cash now.

Third.. is funds.

We are aiming for smaller exchanges that require small fees (.1-.5 BTC).  If we have 2BTC, we could apply to 5-7 small-fee exchanges.
If we had 10 BTC, we can apply to cryptopia.

I think one possible way it will work is
  • we get donations from community to apply to 5-7 small exchanges.
  • Once we are on the exchanges, we need to amp up mining power and figure out a way to get the coin liquid enough so we can get on coinmarketcap.
  • Then we move onto larger exchanges with larger fees.

We are applying to first exchange this weekend and a community member reached out to the team and said they would pay the fee.

great news, thanks for the update...
maybe worth a try to apply "new" or upcoming exchanges like crypto-bridge or upcoin.com.. maybe we have better chance to get in...

Iridium Platform Documentation and Integrations: We will have python and ruby API's to the iridium wallet / core RPC stack.  Community members are invited to contribute more.  Additionally we have a https://wiki.iridium.com.  This is where the documentation will be!

You really got me excited when I read that, because I know which company owns that domain. Too good to be true  Grin

The last Hard fork was a big success : the difficulty algorithm performs very well. As h0h0h0 said about the core, the next hard fork purpose is mainly a technical bugfixs and security maintenance : iridium goes "mature" and so the blockchain will goes to V3

Here is the technical details:

core :
  • default sync blocks to 300 (currently 200) to speed a little up the blockchain synchronisation
  • lower low and high limits of the difficulty algorithm and make it symetrical.(Zawy's recommantdations)
  • Adjust the coefficient to stick to 175.0s (The long time target will actually be 175.5 - Zawy's recommantdations too)
  • fix a potential "time warp" attack.
  • Add a method to RPC query the mempool summary
  • Add "difficulty" in RPC query block list

gui wallet :
  • Typo fix in case of tx stucked in mempool marked "Cancelled"
  • The graphical circle in "send" was too big.
  • (not sure I 'll be in time but does not need HF) Ability to choose the blockchain storage location.

We are aiming the 15th of March if everything is ok. I will release the binaries around the 7.

MARCH ANNOUNCEMENT NEWS

#######################################################

March is a big month as we plan on releasing 4 pieces of ecosystem.

Iridium v3 Blockchain: This is a hardfork version that contains a handful of bugfixes. Specifically
  • Difficulty Algorithm Adjustment
  • Target Block time Adjustment
  • Small Wallet Fixes

More information the timing and block that the fork will occur on will come over the next couple weeks from SteveB (SteveB needs to take a well earned break).

Iridium WhitePaper: Datapotomus stepped up and contributed a major revision of the whitepaper. This whitepaper more clearly spells out the benefits of Iridium! Big thanks sir!

Iridium Website: We have a plan to release a new version of the website in March. We do need UX assistance so if this is in your skill set please reach on the discord.

Iridium Platform Documentation and Integrations: We will have python and ruby API's to the iridium wallet / core RPC stack.  Community members are invited to contribute more.  Additionally we have a https://wiki.iridium.com.  This is where the documentation will be!

Platform Integration and Whitepaper update will be needed to help get Iridium on an exchanges.
