Jibrel - Traditional financial assets on-chain
Hello! I got a question regarding the coin algorithm. Is it going to be PoS? In regards to mining, when will the mining details of this token gets released? I would like to start early since this looks like a very good project.

We're built on ETH. So there is no mining process. The token gets released on December 10th for participants, but freely movable post ICO close (Jan 26th). It will be listed on several major exchanges, and will primarily be used by the Jibrel DAO to balance tethered assets.

Our Roadmap is here

Have you realized that your logo is the guy on his knees with the willy out?   Grin

Initially it's like "J" and "i" joined.

Yeah, I figured but it's still hilarious. Can't unsee it now  Grin

The old logo  Grin. It was meant to be a node and two peers. We also went through the phase of "can never unsee", hence the change:

Hi guys, I have a little request or a suggestion: Could you make an introductory video about the project that explains it and how it works.
I thing that would make it easier to understand and also tell others about it.
Its much more appealing and comprehensive.

Hello from Egypt,
what is the expected price after the ICO. we need to calculated estimated ROI

Hi -

We build the network, we let you speculate on price.

But on a high-level (this isn't an exact science, run your own numbers to calculate an RoI, this is meant to show how to calculate it):

  • Our first application of jCash is hedging tokens. The current crypto-economy is ~300bn.
  • We can safely assume, that since we're at ATHs regularly, that people are looking to hedge.
  • Assuming 10% are looking to hedge, that is a US$30BN market.
  • The only real provider today is Tether
  • People are unhappy with tether
  • Assuming we capture 20% of hedging market share, we're looking at 6bn dollars
  • Hedging tokens are bought and held (i.e. average lock-up periods are in excess of 1 month)
  • That assumes 500mn locked up at any given point in time
  • ~160mn tokens in circulation at a price of US$ 0.25 per token - JNT can control US$ 40mn
  • JNT would need to appreciate by 12X to meet demand

Hope that helps!

Hi!

1. Tokens will be listed on exchanges on February 1st (or earlier if ICO ends earlier)

2. This seems to be some confusion on CryptoCompare between Jibrel Network Token (JNT) and JointCoin - JNT has not started trading yet!

Apologies for the confusion, we will contact the right people to ensure Jibrel Network Token remains the one and true JNT!

Okay, good to know that listing date is Feb,2018 unlike your website showing 2017.  Wink

Off topic but could you let me know how this ticker assignment process for cryptocurrency works,if you find out?
Thanks

Hah, we noticed it and are fixing!

On the token symbols, its a first come first serve, also given lack of coordination between exchanges, you end up with duplication.

In some cases, you have multiple token names, etc. it was a nightmare cleaning these up for the pre-stock tokens in the https://jWallet.network/

I hope everything is clear because while we are trading we have to check twice for the ticker. So, I got some clarity from the team and Jibrel is taking some security measure before buying the token in it's crowdsale.

We are careful about JNT secondary markets forming before the token is listed.

So JNT withdrawals are restricted before December 15th (you can view your balance in your token sale dashboard, but cannot withdraw into your personal ETH address)

JNT transfers will be restricted (only to your whitelisted wallet) until the token is listed on exchanges post ICO close.

Hope that helps!

Do you feel competition on this market?

There is quite a bit of competition.

But everyone seems to be focused on Public / Listed equity (i.e. stocks / shares).

But we don't do this for very obvious reasons. Highlighted in our Medium post "Why we don't do listed equity".

Right now, we understand that if we want to bring financial services to the blockchain, we need two key things:

1. jCash - Crypto-fiat (to interact with the real-world)
2. jWallet - Institutional grade wallet that meets the levels of Online Banking

Nice project with the best trust idea. I want to register for Vietnamese translation. Vietnam is the biggest market for Cryto,  if you need PM me.

Good luck success!

I think you should pay attention to Vietnam

Thanks! Someone highlighted this in our Telegram group and our co-founder Talal Tabbaa is finding a good event to attend in Vietnam. If you know of events, happy to hear feedback on which one Jibrel should attend.

Hi,

Just another quick question, pre-ico, token will be valued 0.2 euro.

It is said the token will be priced 0.25 later on.

While reading the website i also read:

> Given the extreme volatility of ETH and BTC, it would be difficult to hold liabilities in fiat currency (CryDRs) while holding volatile and uncorrelated crypto-assets. Using JNT, a closed system is established allowing for the system to self-balance.

And that is the part that make sense, due to the fact that you want insitutions to hold assets in your currency.

So if it is not that volatile, can we expect 10x, 20x, 30x from the currency or is this a "different kind" of ico with a currency that is not supposed to inflate/deflate that much?

EDIT:
What I also don't get is that since when you buy jUSD for example you are getting 1 dollar worth of JNTs, the volatility of the cryptocurrency shouldn't matter much, as the person who hedged USD doesn't care of the price of the crypto he is hedging on, as long as the value is guaranteed.

Thanks

Hi JNT is used to balance Jibrel DAO's assets/liabilities.

So the volatility doesn't matter as much as the fact that you need to use a token that is tied to the system.

If there is demand for CryDRs (which lock JNT), then JN T appreciates in price, and the Jibrel DAO owes less in liabilities and can mint more CryDRs.

This duality is explained a bit further in our Roadmap. Its under the title A Dedicated Token.
