amacar2,
Because Krypton has a FIX for the new type of 51% attack against Ethereum-based blockchains, KR WILL NOT be moving to another protocol. We will not be moving to a Bitcoin-based POS coin. KR will remain a fork of Ethereum!
Professor Emin Gun Sirer of Cornell University, himself, has provided me with the solution to Krypton's attack problem.
We are saved!
The solution employs checkpoints. You can read about them here.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-032-released-437Thanks for the update, covertress! I'm glad to see your commitment towards making Krypton a solid and stable project for the long term. This fix is definitely good news and I hope that we could get back to trading KR soon to keep the price moving towards new heights. I'm glad to have invested on Krypton, and will continue to do so for the long term. Wish you great success with this project!
Thank you, Abiky.
I must thank you in advance, for your patience. This will not be a quick fix. We must not only code this fix, but test it also.
Someone in slack today asked: "How long? A year? A week? A month?"
I told them: "Less than a year, more than a week, closer to a month."
When I have a better projected time to completion, I will surely keep you informed... here and on all social media, as usual.
I'm pleased that the Krypton Community is more happy to wait for our fix than to move to another blockchain, if even as a temporary solution.
The only reason I suggested the move was in order to keep KR trading; so investors could have the choice to exit now or stock up more for the future.
Unfortunately, too many in the community did not understand this type of temporary move. I suppose, because it has never been done in crypto before.
Regardless, Krypton WILL NOT be switching to a POS blockchain, but will instead remain an ETH-based blockchain until we code a solution to this new type of 51% attack vector.
Again, thank you for your patience.
I believe now that this is the best way to hold value in KR as a coin.
I am doing my best for all of us, to make Krypton and KR the best it can be.
Once I secure financing, I will incorporate Krypton Corp to code software for other projects and also create the Krypton Foundation to guide and support the KR blockchain. These are my two long-term goals for the Krypton you know today.
Perhaps, after my visit to China, I will have some excellent news regarding how soon these two events will happen.
I leave for China in 9 days. My mission is to solicit future business partners, Chinese coin exchanges and Krypton investors. In short, to build a better Krypton for all of us. Wish me luck.
