for crypto users who understand decentralisation, they wont touch libra. but this project are already gaining so much attention from the public. wont be surprised if most of the fb users wont care about their privacy. as long as they feel they are in with the technology, they wont bother to care about such personal security.
At the first place, they already have given some of their personal data to Facebook, remember the issue about Facebook and every data of its users? They even went to court against the government.
Based on their whitepaper now, it is really understandable that they are not fully decentralized, it's just sad, a lot of people already judged the Libra because of its centralization.

I really want to know more about Libra, especially when they will be launch soon, especially there are a lot of Facebook users in our country, let's wait how Libra will affect facebook users and others.

We really should think of it that Libra is going to contribute to the adoption of cryptocurrency. We all have the option not to use libra. But those who has no access to BTC right now will have access to Libra which is their opportunity as well. WE can't just take all the crypto for ourselves for there will once again an unfair distribution of crypto. With libra, they now can have.

It's actually funny that "the godfather of centralization" wants to start a crypto currency..

Which is.. not mineable, not based on bitcoin's core but has "blockchain" in it's promotion Smiley

Make money out of thin air...

*Brute force will solve any Bitcoin problem*
With enough money backing the project it has a high chance to succeed. Even though there are recent talk from the highest level in the USA against crypto, the forces behind Libra are strong. There are some big names backing it. From page 4 of the whitepaper the founding members are listed as:

Payments: Mastercard, PayPal, PayU (Naspers’ fintech arm), Stripe, Visa
Technology and marketplaces: Booking Holdings, eBay, Facebook/Calibra, Farfetch, Lyft, Mercado Pago, Spotify AB, Uber Technologies, Inc.
Telecommunications: Iliad, Vodafone Group, Blockchain: Anchorage, Bison Trails, Coinbase, Inc., Xapo Holdings Limited
Venture Capital: Andreessen Horowitz, Breakthrough Initiatives, Ribbit Capital, Thrive Capital, Union Square Ventures
Nonprofit and multilateral organizations, and academic institutions: Creative Destruction Lab, Kiva, Mercy Corps, Women’s World Banking

thats why it's retarded ~ bitcoin cannot be reinvented..genie is already out the bottle!  Cool  zuckerN00bs~

It is nothing about re-invention. My argument is that where there are billions of dollars and big names behind something it will be difficult to fail. Bitcoin will always be there and be the pioneering king, but with the penetration like Facebook there could be quick mass adoption of whatever Facebook puts on the table, especially if the card associations are behind it as well.

mass SURVEILLANCE you mean? :\)) pfft~ zuckern00bers

I think that after the sanction for cambridge analytica, facebook must think to an exit dollar strategy. The federal government has sued a company to which everyone is registered. Zuckemberg is only the president of a company whose shareholders are members of facebook. I also pay every euro in terms of quality of service, security systems, etc. For this reason it is the case that the shareholder is distributed in a more armored way.

i am just hoping that libra will be decentralize to make cryptocurrency great again to its natural aspect on anonymity because right now all are centralized and some of it are needed KYC for accounts

Till now, we don't see any specification released by the team only people speculating but it is already decided that it is going to be a global currency like Bitcoin, but how far it will going to get reputable and how it is going work we have to wait for further details from their concerned teams.
