At this moment, we have a complete and fully working prototype of our new GUI-wallet. We are working on making it available to the public in the very near future. Our GUI-wallet is being written completely from scratch and will be a 100% original codebase.
This is why it may be taking longer to get done than it might normally take.
This allows us to carefully design a better user-experience than simply copying/forking someone elses project and changing a few lines of code.
The list of wallets shown on the left side all support convenient drag'n'drop functionality. Users can simply drag their wallet (.bin) file onto the main window rather than browse to find it among many other ones on their hard-drives. Unlike the main window, this list has a slight transparency allowing users to be more focused on the main screen (window). Just a little 'design-magic' and attention to detail to improve the overall user experience.
On the main screen we aimed for a simpler, less-cluttered UI, so the user is not forced to delve into things like mixin and wallet rescan (if they don't want to). We've also paid a great deal of attention to bug-fixing with the overall goal of removing many issues users might have to deal with when using our new GUI-wallet.
Extensive internal checks showed that our GUI-wallet sample is nearly fully functional and as a result we believe are moving in the right direction. Although we cannot quote an exact release date, the wallet will most likely still "Go Live" later in April, in accordance with the timelines mentioned in our Roadmap.
