The Arizona Senate passed a bill on Feb. 8 to allow residents in the state to pay their taxes with cryptocurrencies, public records indicate.

The Senate Bill 1091, which intends to enable cryptocurrencies for tax payment, was introduced Jan. 10, 2018 and passed by the Senate Finance Committee by a 4-3 vote on Jan. 24. On Feb. 8, the Senate passed the bill by a 16-13 margin, with one no-vote.

The bill has now been sent to Arizona’s House of Representatives.

If the bill is adopted, Arizona would become the first state in the U.S. to accept cryptocurrency tax payments by the year of 2020, as stated on the public record. The bill would allow taxpayers of the state to use “a payment gateway, such as Bitcoin, LITECOIN or any other cryptocurrency recognized by the department, using electronic peer-to-peer systems.”

According to the bill, the Arizona Department of Revenue, upon receiving payments in crypto for “tax and any interest and penalties”, would be obligated to convert the cryptocurrency payments to U.S. dollars within 24 hours.

Arizona State Republican Rep. Jeff Weninger, who co-sponsored the bill, said the tax measure intends to turn the state into a center of  “blockchain and digital currency technology in the future”. Referring to the tax bill, Weninger told Fox News this week:

"It's one of a litany of bills that we're running that is sending a signal to everyone in the United States, and possibly throughout the world, that Arizona is going to be the place to be for blockchain and digital currency technology in the future."

In September, 2017, Cointelegraph reported that the municipality of Chiasso, Switzerland will enable its residents to pay taxes in Bitcoin starting January 2018, following the lead of Zug.

When the stealth concept will be implemented in LTC? I want to know when BTC will have lightning confirmation then what individual characteristics will differentiate LTC from BTC, or what will make LTC more favourable?

Keep you expectations high guys and set your targets at $1k by the end of this year. It is not over estimating or speculation but based on the availability of the material and stuff which is coming out anyone can realize. This year Litecoin will be best performer by gaining high value.
I would pretty much love to see LTC being a major trading pair and I really hate the moments  when it  get ripped off every time I move funds to exchanges.

Drug dealers on dark web websites have at least partly moved on from Bitcoin, with many now accepting payment in alternative cryptocurrencies, the so-called, “altcoins.”

Although several have become options for those looking to buy illicit substances over Tor-accessible marketplaces, Litecoin has most popular in recent months.

I think $130 - $150 will be our stable average for a while...
a $20 range.. daytraders agony!

Yup, you're right, and in my opinion that's a very good price considering the huge loss Bitcoin experienced in the last days! Litecoin is still standing and it's doing it pretty well!

I totally agree.
To be used as a form of money and not just a store of value, the price needs to be realistic to the cosmetic appearance of LTC that 1.00000000 should be equal an amount of fiat which does not put people off buying a few extra 0.01LTC or 0.02LTC when they want to make a purchase via LitePay or similar. In this, the balance between consumers buying LTC and merchants selling LTC will hopefully keep the price stable (to a degree), and when a consumer purchases enough LTC to make a purchase, will also have a small amount left over to keep in a wallet, or to use for future purchases.

This was the hope for bitcoin when bitpay started up but the massive spike in the BTC price, IMHO, ruined bitcoin as a currency... however, not a bad thing for LTC.

It will end up on a lot of hedge funds/institutional investors radar soon enough...

Most big money players only want to play in big market cap coins IMO

it looks like bit want sot go to 16.6K, and LTC and the rest will folow, some traders still think market will try to test the lows again, but the bulls are to strong plus fundamentlas looking good, SEC thing. so first we will go 166 with light and then it will blow it to 233 range, depending from the BIT, unfortunatly,...when will this be over, this BIT mania. p.s.. i hold only NEO, and few lights will start to pump also the light on margin...p.s we will see some crazy bulls again, SOON

Heyy everyone..
I would like to ask some of you for your opinion on litepay.
As this weekend or this month that is going to launch.
What would be the least price expectations??
As it is a very big achievement and i expect a good price jump.
Any guesses ??

My guess is that there will be many price predictions. Some conservative, some ultra bullish and ultra bearish also.

And there is a high probability you'll act on the wrong one.

Personally I'm long term (years) conservatively bullish, short term I have absolutely no idea.

LTC in my opinion is here to stay. Before middle of 2017 it was actually thought of as shadow of bitcoin, some kind of  silver opposite to bitcoin's gold. Now I won't be in wonder if they  become equal partners, a traction to all crypto.

Well, from chat groups and other ones I get to read, the leaders of the pack today are still bitcoin and ethereum.

It will be good if LTC can rise up to be at par with BTC, but in my opinion there's a long way to go.  I'm also conservatively bullish, but I won't say it has all the formula needed now to join the leaders of the pack just yet.  The demand has to be there, and the only way to get this is to create the value for people to want to get Litecoin.  Litepay will be a step in the right direction for sure.

LTC proved itself as quite stable coin regarding to BTC value. There is much more riskier coins to invest in, so going long here probably shouldnt be mistake. But do your own research. I am not financial adviser, nor anyone else here Smiley

Quote
Aliant Payment Systems, a U.S. based provider of merchant services and credit card processing, announced today that it is now offering its merchants the ability to accept Litecoin payments.

Aliant became one of the first payment processors to offer a Bitcoin solution to merchants in Q3 2017, with an Ethereum solution following in Q4 2017.

“Our merchants look to us for innovative ways to transfer money safely, securely, and cost-effectively. Cryptocurrency allows us to move money in all of these ways, while also offering consumers more payment options,” said Aliant CEO Eric Brown. “We expect Litecoin to emerge as a prominent everyday payment option. Pay with Litecoin at restaurants, bars, gas stations, coffee shops, and other places that you go regularly.”
