Litecoin could see a bullish push above the $100 level, could this lead to a bullish trend? Learn more in this short TA:

https://coincodex.com/article/4325/litecoin-price-analysis-ltc-leads-bullish-push-as-bulls-attempt-a-move-above-100/

Mr. Obvious here:

LTC crypto miners are mostly all underwater at anything below $100 LTC.

So according to this https://www.litecoinblockhalf.com/ in 2 days and 16 hours the LTC halving will occur.

Thus those underwater now (IMHO, 80% of LTC miners vs electricity) at $100 bucks will be 2x the trouble after LTC halving.

thus $100 LTC you mine now, after halving, will be the equivalent of mining LTC NOW at the $50 buck price for LTC.

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly.

Current price on CMC - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/ was a little bit late for rebound as compared with today's performers but I'm very positive it will rebound soon in a matter of days which coincide to its scheduled halving.  So i guess "history will once again repeat itself "Smiley

Among top altcoins, Litecoin is one of the best performers last three days. When most of top altcoins fell due to sudden rises of Bitcoin, which brought it to above $10,000, Litecoin has still well maintained its price in the LTC/BTC pair. Personally, I am impressed with it. Maybe this performance is not most of Litecoin holders waited for, because it has still been too low compare to its recent peak, and investors' expected rises due to halving; but it is good enough if we compare with other top altcoins.
Although litecoin is trying to maintain its value but that does not mean that in the next time, it can still be maintained like that, sometimes it is now very stable but in new stages, it may fall as it once did. The small ray of hope is probably the upcoming event of litecoin, this Litecoin Halving event can make litecoin that miners mined will become less, this means that litecoin will become rarer and may increase sharply, but if there is no positivity through that event, it will be a signal for us to abandon litecoin

All focus in on upcoming halving event to see once a cut in production happens what happens afterwards. In current market situation apparently we have seen rise already and now in remaining days will most probably pass without major move. I personally expect a rally in post halving era because market reacts in contrary direction than sentiments. It was all fun and excitement which has pause and will resume sooner just hold on.

Sry, i don’t get your Point. Profit from mining will be reduced but it’s still profitable?
Even Bitcoin (and a lot of altcoins) has this “problem” in the past, they keep mining in hope one day the return of investment will be positive.

the overload will be too much IMHO if Bitmain L3's and L3+ units go off the network at these prices.

The question is IF everything that mines even at above $150 price of LTC, can't justify the price vs electric..who is gonna mine?

Never saw it this likely to lose 3/4 of hashing ON TOP OF the price vs difficulty as it is now.

Just saying a variety of factors that are gonna make things worse in the short term

Also, in the PAST new Scrypt-pow miners at better efficiency usually was an option around these kinda events, I don't see any investment in such at this

time to mitigate the above either.

Anyway, 3 or more effects combining to make this very 'interesting' on how all this will play out mining/cost of coin/and LTC in general

again, hope I don't know what the F*ck I'm talking about, but looks 'sharp-edged' at every angle I can see in the short term at least for LTC price and adoption

with above drama.

A rule embedded within litecoin’s (LTC) code is set to soon reduce rewards for the miners who today ensure transaction processing on the world’s fourth-largest blockchain by total value.
Litecoin price over the last 30 days via CoinDesk data.

In approximately five days, litecoin will undergo a scheduled reward halving – a process aimed at preserving cryptocurrency’s purchasing power.
The mining reward is currently set at 25 litecoins ($2,500) per block and will drop to 12.5 litecoins ($1,200) per block on Aug. 5.

With that transition, the protocol will be adding significantly fewer litecoins to the market after Aug. 5.

It is gonna be interesting in the ancient Chinese Curse of Interesting: May you live in interesting times!

So, again, (see previous posts on this thread), IMHO, I think about 75% of all LTC Scrypt-pow miners are Bitmain L3's or L3+'s.

Thus they are underwater at these prices. As of now, that is $96.65 LTC at say 10c kWh. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/

So as far as Bitmain units in relationship to LTC difficulty mining we could see a lot of stuff dump, and then if the price was to recover a lot of Yo-yo'ing

of mass amounts of difficulty being turned off and on in an attempt to beat difficulty when down with the prices and driving difficulty up when all these

SAME low hanging fruit and these units try to get back on at a profit ..then off .then on...could be in for interesting times.

Of course, If LTC prices stay under say $150, then the network will go down in difficulty I mean way, way down.

But still would be modest to downright embarrassing on what you would be making and dubious ROI on even the $3,000 USD at  2.2gh 2100 watts Innsolicon A6+ which

I list here https://www.innosilicon.com/html/a6+-miner/index.html

Here is profit as of this moment for one of these, again, before HALVING in like 4-5 days for LTC.

Currently making at 10c kWh $1.36 per day!

According to the ASIC Miner Value Page here: https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/innosilicon/a6-ltcmaster-1.

Assuming all is the same more or less price wise etc on the LTC

halving that would be, again after halving 68c a day!

Damn, that is downright embarrassing. Of course, some $$$ would be made if my view of the Bitmain L3 and L3+

making up the vast majority of LTC miners. But again, even after all that shook out, this could be disastrous for Litecoin as a viable coin at a viable price.

Anyway, I won't get into what this might do to price or HODL or anything else.

Just saying from the mining point of view, IMHO, this looks pretty dire. I mean to me, really, really dire!

Some PR from the Litecoin Foundation on Mimblewimble and/or halving and/or other efforts/or other progress/or something would be helpful.

But alas, deafening silence. Sad

Anyway, my 'suspected' fears and rant on this.

Hope I'm dead wrong!

Litecoin appears to be still in the bear market. Can we expect a breakout soon?
Read more in this TA:

https://coincodex.com/article/4159/litecoin-price-analysis-when-will-the-bear-market-end-for-ltc/
Litecoin actually went its far ride (its bottom around 0.005 BTC). At Litecoin today price, investors who bought it at bottom range nearly doubled their price. Litecoin will unable to break out (if it should be called as breakout) if bitcoin won't fall down more significantly. Personally, I don't see reason why Litecoin should break out from its today price. I could be wrong and overpessimistic about Litecoin future, but who knows?

Well, my concern is as usual, Litecoin Foundation is not showing us anything of note for future tweaks to Litecoin.

Thus no info/hype etc and a lot of FUD from others on Litecoin and it just kinda piles on. Need some better PR and innovations soon IMHO from the Devs.

What they need to do is talk more about 'mimblewimble' IMHO. Not sure it would matter 2 much if even the halving in 5 days or so is not generating much press.
Could actually make things worse. Pretty sure the current Trump Administration will have a COW, once they get their head around mimblewimble.
But again, IMHO, Litecoin would AT LEAST for once do something 'daring and innovative' besides just plodding along in the shadow of Bitcoin and BTC prices as usual.

As far as mining goes for LTC, we are utterly dorked. Not sure how that will shake out, but I suspect after the halving, pretty much ALL the Bitmain L3+'s will go away.

Also, IMHO, Bitmain L3+'s comprise about 75% of all scrypt-pow miners out there.

Indeed I did the calcs on the Innsilicon A6+ LTCmaster at 2.2gh and 2100 watts in which at these prices before halving IN FIVE DAYS is currently losing, now,  -11c a day.
Also, Innsolicon still wants like $3,000 USD. NOT counting the 25% tariff and 2.6% import fees to the USA nor Shipping to the USA as an example of how out of reach this stuff is for LTC mining.

https://www.innosilicon.com/html/a6+-miner/index.htmlnfor this beast yet! Sheesh.

So, even if I am correct and the Bitmain L3+'s are lost to LTC difficulty, not a lot of fun happening with the rest either, that also doesn't seem to have enough pop to get any profit
after the halving and at the current LTC prices.

https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/innosilicon/a6-ltcmaster-1

Sh*t is conspiring to drive down prices for LTC coin itself and mining LTC in general and the competitiveness of LTC vs other Altcoins is really, really being pressured at this time.
Whatever I'm still in HODL mode for my LTC I purchased at around an $85 USD price, back before this last pump. AM in no way mining LTC anymore though.

Just hope tougher times are not ahead.
