I guess my awesome coin design didn't make the cut.  Oh well.  You'll rue the day! *shakes fist*

So I've been working on a simple GUI wrapper for cpuminer.

Any interest?

comparison of hashing speed / LTC:SC
.
.
.
Um - does SC really matter to those interested in LTC?
You posted that here coz why?

coz many think, that SC has a huge cpu-network...
i want to put it back into realistic dimensions...
only a few numbers to that discussion

why are you so arrogant and looking down at me?

sometimes its useful to think outside the box...
The point is to avoid turning this thread into a LTC / SC argument.
Don't need it here at all.

you dont need it here...
ok...
i had a discussion with coblee on PM and he wrote:
"Please post your findings in the Litecoin thread so people are aware of this."

you may ignore this and go back into your box
i am mining/have mined both and im interested in both, whats wrong with it?
you think i am the only one who does so?

comparison of hashing speed / LTC:SC
it seems to me like comparing chalk to cheese
the algorithm is different

i have mined both currencies

when i compare my computers-hashing-speed:

core-i7 / win7-pro-64

LTC: 16 KH/s (Pool-shown speed 14 - 18 KH/s)
SC2.0: 60 KH/s (Pool-shown speed ~ 180 KH/s)
SC2.01: 200 KH/s (Pool-shown speed ~ 225 KH/s)

i see a minimum 10 x higher hashing-speed for SC at my comp

now i get the chain-info at http://allchains.info/index.html
sc    0.04578
ltc    0.00465    (for comparison x10 = 0,0465)

they are now on equal terms!

but soon there will be gpu-mining possible with SC, then its again chalk and cheese Wink

Thanks. Your information is very helpful.

I'm going to implement auto-worker for "CPU coins" in Coinotron. ATM there are two (SC, LTC), but there will be more. It will be swiching mining programs to the most profitable coin at given time.

It would be nice if AMD owner posted similiar comparison for AMD.

Not sure how this works, is it so many (Litecoins = one Bitcoin )?
One would mine at the same time one is mining at the same time one
is mining for bitcoin. Gpu's mining for bitcoin and Cpu's mining for lite coin
 at the same time?
Thanks, Ad
At the moment there is only one exchange that supports LTC.
(that will supposedly change in about a week)

So to get a current BTC value for it - reading off the exchange page:
it's a bit below 1 BTC = 200 LTC but seems to stay around that 0.005 mark.

You can mine them both at the same time
(though that depends on your GPU miner)
With cgminer it hardly uses any CPU, thus CPU mining with an LTC miner, while GPU mining with cgminer works well.

I've put all the logos on the wiki: http://litecoin.info/index.php?title=Logo_Designs
Everyone, please add to the page as you see fit. Also, it would be nice if you scale down your images so the wiki page is not so cluttered.

coblee, you should post YOUR favorite 3, and let us vote on those, make a poll

Sounds like a good idea. I will wait a bit and see what terrytibbs comes up with. And then I will pick 3 or so and set up a poll.

That's it, i'm stepping it up, going for one more design.

Btw, EskimoBob, the black and white flower is bad ass, I don't like full text inside, but I actually took it and toyed around with it, I think it makes for a very distinct looking coin.

Thanx BitcoinPorn.
I do not like that text too but it has to be somewhere? Or how about on the "other side" of the coin Smiley
maybe I can bend it around at the bottom edge or something

Shocked
I yield my hat to Bitcoinporn, this looks awesome I now think his design should be chosen as the official Litecoin Logo.
well done!

Yeah, let's see if anyone can top that. Truly impressive. I wish I had that real Litecoin in my hands.
I think I know that *someone* would like to produce them... lets see Wink
