Lykke is an exchange, right?
How can I involve in?
download the lykke app on ios or android and then you can sign up and buy lykke coins. Or check out the website. Right now they have an app as the exchange but they are going to have a website down the line. Its a forex exchange where Olsen is going to set it up where you can trade anything on the website. And there will be no fees for trading so will be very liquid exchange. People have asked where they make their money. I believe it will be from other big businesses that want to be part of the lykke exchange eco system. Customers don't get charged anything but the businesses will be charged to use the platform. I could be wrong, but I believe thats how its going to be set up.
I think your explanation is correct although I still have some doubts maybe tempus can shred some light on this. Here's a very good article explaining how Lykke system works although an ELI5 would be awesome for many of us

Main-business of Lykke will be market-making --> using the spread. One can think of it as a flexible fee and goal is a very thin spread of course. The whole market is always adjusting, but I couldn't explain how it's done. Richard Olsen, but also Sergey Ivliev and some others, are true experts when it's about market-economics.
Once they have a little bit more time I'll suggest that somebody will write an article to explain it all in layman-terms ;-)
But, Lykke will be about many aspects: financial products, payment system (plus debit card), p2p-lending, maybe also prediction market, information-system, crowdfunding-platform and they also build software for other companies but I don't know any details about that.
Key will be volume. Lykke will be much more attractive once it's fully developed and once they'll add pretty much everything what's significant in Crypto and beyond, forex-trading and shares and so on. Important are regulations. That's the reason why they push that topic so much and they do it all over the world.
In that context, the most recent article again (about progress regarding regulations):
