The coin started with a sort of hack of kittehcoin which was a real old coin, but the main developer is a public figure, has done public interviews and did reconstruct the crippled kitteh into a working project.

The problem with the coin is that it does not do anything useful, but as the developer is accessible if somebody has an idea to upgrade the coin there is a slight chance it might happen.

It is trading on FreiExchange's litecoin version and has pretty good depth for small traders https://freixlite.com/market/LYNX/LTC

At this point it is still just a shitcoin but with more history than most, but I had a lot of kitteh coin, now lynx, so I hope it follows other shitcoins like doge and bitcoin.

Lynx is a coin marred by the corruption. Crook coin and should be avoided, at any cost. I can hear the deprecatory tone of the bearers blaming the team in screwing up the launch and that team will be taking everything down in the coming days. The reason might be that no eminent people are on the team, only unknown fake sobriquets meaning nothing.

Just in case any of you here expect a refund from Altilly. If you don't have all their deposit confirmation emails, they give you nothing. That's a scam.

Its been revived in the form Lynx. I appreciate their mining algorithm that allows Proof of Work but have special rules to make it energy efficient. Bitcoin mining with energy usage as a form of security, is not scalable nor environmental. The ability for individuals to participate in maintaining the blockchain is truly decentralized as opposed to all those Bitcoin mining pools.

After the huge success of doge, is nobody from the devs tempted to revive kittehcoin from the grave?

THE STATE OF LYNX IN 2021
Overall we are doing pretty great! We have suffered a few setbacks from third party exchanges and multi-wallets recently which I will outline below but first I'd like to let you know where the project is at and how to get more involved! The core wallet has had a huge overhaul making it even more stable and efficient to run on low powered devices. There's a real world working business built on top of Lynx you may not be aware of. We even have a new exchange listing and a brand new method of collecting your mining rewards which is more fun and profitable than previous methods!

LYNX CAN MINE FROM A RASPBERRY PI
Lynx was specifically designed to be run entirely on a network of simple Raspberry Pi type low powered devices for very little profit. This concept is meant to turn the idea of mining for huge gains on its head so that the network is only supported by those interested in doing so. This forms a very stable base of nodes and keeps our network nice and healthy. Best of all, using our super convenient LynxCI "cryptocurrency installer" script your VPS node or Raspberry Pi could be set up, synced, and mining within 15 minutes! No joke, we have greatly streamlined the process to make Lynx the easiest and most affordable coin network to support! We have taken our potential impact on the environment very seriously since day one which is why low-powered devices that run for pennies a day can support the entire Lynx network.

LOGWARE DATA STORAGE LAYER
The creator of Lynx, Ben, has developed a working business model on top of the chain that makes it incredibly easy for clients to store data on the blockchain. It's known as Logware and it is an API service that provides customers ease of use, transparency, speed, and security of their data. As it relates to Lynx, a small amount of actual Lynx is required and burned (sent to an non-spendable address) per transaction created by the Logware system. The more kilobytes of data, the more transactions it is split up among. This creates a natural buy demand as more clients come on board, more data is stored, more transactions are made, and more Lynx is required to make the system operate! Burning these Lynx has a side benefit of slowly deflating the supply over time which also contributes to a more desirable supply/demand ratio in the long run.

This technology truly has unlimited potential it only requires a clever need for transparent immutable small-data storage. TIPSY-LYNX MINING
Speaking of bots, we have another very clever bot in the server named Tipsy (also my design) which holds so many important roles. Not only is it a working wallet which you can deposit, tip, and rain with like most crypto bots but it also features a high score system with levels and ranks, community activities, and just recently has been plugged into the latest wallet release in an effort to spur new mining activity. Our new TipsyLynx mining method, funded by Logware and community rains, pays out double the traditional mining rewards and allows you access to your funds immediately! It also has a built in lottery system to possibly win even MORE Lynx (up to just over a million) per block win. It is also the first convenience service in history that actually costs you less to use while bringing you more profit than mining alone! COINOMI DROPPED US
Now for the not so great news. We had paid quite a fee to be listed on the multi-wallet service Coinomi and that all seemed to be going swimmingly until one day they decided "screw all the little guys" and kicked us and many others off of their platform with very little notice. Fortunately because they are a BIP39 style wallet with a seed phrase, you can recover your potentially lost Lynx keys using Coinomi's own recovery tool. Seriously though, what bastards they are. We PAID to be listed! No refund.

ALTILLY WAS HACKED
Another bit of bad luck lately the largest exchange where we were listed, Altilly, was apparently "hacked" however that truly remains to be seen in my opinion. Unfortunately LYNX is listed on their "not saved" list of cryptos so the future of any funds held there is uncertain. I personally lost about 40 million Lynx myself on that takedown so I feel for anyone else who did too. Another hard lesson in not keeping your funds on a live exchange for too long!

WE ARE LISTED ON FREI EXCHANGE
But don't give up hope yet! We are now also listed on Frei Exchange with a LYNX/BTC market. While we do have steady buys daily with some big splashes once in a while, the average volume is a bit low due to most of our community being hit hard by the recent Altilly exchange hack but it is slowly increasing and we would like to make sure everyone knows where to buy so we can drive traffic there and get things kickstarted again. Frei is a solid little exchange that has been around for a good while with a good rep and no KYC or any mess to deal with. I've personally used them and have not really had any major issues yet and from what I hear they are very responsive to contacting them.

Coinomi is delisting Lynx.

Check the network stats.  Perhaps the highest block producing node participation.  More than BTC or ETH and all the rest.
2014 launch.  And base market use too Boot!  Coinomi listed, BlockDex functionality, and logware project, logo improvement and more.

Mining is still active but I see it as an elaborate attempt to distract ppl from real problems. The causative reason of development suspension is of course the lassitude of the team. They have aborted the changes proposed without much explanation. That is a cowards move nobody could expect. And they also siloed the guys who loved to be part of this coin from the rest of the community, this way accelerating their grief of being unloved.

You can mine it.  But it looks like 500+ nodes are mining and getting rewards.  THUS even the leaders are earning less than 2 blocks per 1000.  So LYNX is perhaps the most distributed POW or even POS network.

By the way I think 20 lat is a fine level to rebuy Lynx!

I don't know of another project like it.
1. Old 2015 POW distro.  Founder is well known SYS.
2. (We fixed Kittehcoin!) Updated to a hybrid, requires a little hash, but can't get 51% hacked.
3. Cheap.
4. Inflation is null. ZERO.  Okay 1 LYNX.  But spot the circulation supply and do the math.  
5. Up-to-date client.  Which is nice.
6. Starting to trade.
