You don’t have to run a node in order to use Lyra network.
Simply install CLI wallet and start exploring it by making transfers or even creating your own tokens:

@OP, seems that your project needs awareness among crypto users. How soon are you going to launch your platform with this partnership with Shopify? Or are you just waiting to fully test your network with shopify? This is a big partnership if this will go smoothly. With large number of users, this partnership alone will give you good exposure in the market. If merchants will utilize your platform, focusing your market in shopify alone will make your project a hit. As one of online shoppers, it is good to see coupons or loyalty rewards in terms of cryptocurrency. And remember, ecommerce is really flourishing, not only because we are in pandemic but the convenience it brings to its consumers worldwide. So good luck to this project and I hope seeing lyra token to be successful with this journey.

Lyra testnet is up now, we are actively testing the blockchain and planning to launch the mainnet alpha as soon as it is stable. LoyalShopper for Shopify app is in active development and testing, and the first version will be available soon for public testing for merchants and users with Lyra testnet and Shopify test stores. We are moving forward fast. And yes - the project needs awareness among crypto users - we are open for any suggestions!

With regards to awareness- you can start maybe social media promotion as many people are hooked in social media. This is really good opportunity for you to have massive campaign in social media as many people are stuck in their homes and they have all the time to browse the net. Also, if you have the funds to run signature campaign here in the forum, that would be great. And it may help you in attracting potential users and trusting your platform if it is handled by reputable manager here.

Brief update on Lyra development -

We are all set with the minimum feature set for Lyra mainnet alpha (the main coding is complete), but there is still extensive testing and debugging ahead.

We are releasing the current code to the testnet, while working on migrating the Shopify app code to the latest .NET MVC Core version (it used to be .NET framework ), so the entire Lyra code base is going to be 100% based on .NET core - open source, multi OS, high performance and scalability. Read this for more details about the difference between .NET framework and .NET core technologies:

https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/difference-between-net-framework-and-net-core/

Once the migration is done, Loyal Shopper test app (running on testnet and connected to Shopify demo store) will be available for public demo, testing, and debugging. Also, we will be releasing the mobile wallets for Android and iOS soon.

Stay tuned, and please help us with the testing and debugging - your help is much wanted!

LYRA’s Delegated Proof-of-Stake

Several successful attempts have been made to eliminate proof-of-work and fully replace it with proof-of-stake. Several “high-ranking” crypto projects (EOS, Tezos, Lisk, BitShares, Nano, Ark) have implemented a delegated proof-of-stake (DPOS), or based their consensus mechanism on DPOS principles (Cardano). In DPOS all participants can vote for a few nodes by delegating their coin balances to the nodes they trust. The more votes (the greater stake balance) the node receives, the higher its position and the possibility of being elected as an authorizing node.

It is preferable that the voting currency has a finite supply and be fairly distributed among the network participants. Lyra tokens will be used as the voting token. Account holders can vote for an authorizer by their account balance. Each voting account is linked to a particular authorizer. The dividends come from transaction fees which the authorizer earns by participation in the authorization process. This way, all users are motivated to vote as they participate in Lyra rewards sharing, i. e. account holders become stakeholders of the Lyra system.

In traditional centralized payment systems such as Visa or PayPal, the earnings are received by the corporation that owns the network, and some part is distributed to shareholders. In LYRA, all the earnings are shared directly between the authorizers and voting account holders, with no corporate bureaucracy in the middle.

Here is how LYRA calculates transaction fees and performs fee disbursement to authorizer nodes and voters:

https://github.com/LYRA-Block-Lattice/LYRA-Docs/blob/master/Fees-Disbursement-Mechanism.md

This is the major coding in work (besides bugs found during the testing) before we freeze the code for the mainnet

Although we initially decided to postpone any work on privacy to the future phases of the project, there are (and always were) questions about privacy, so we decided to move forward in this direction.
As a first step towards privacy transactions, I put together a paper proposing the high level design of privacy transactions on block lattice.
As the next step, we plan to implement a proof of concept based on this proposal. Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions!

Additional information about Lyra practical applications and implementation plan:
https://docs.lyra.live/practical-applications

Practical Applications
Unlike most blockchain projects, Lyra has a concrete implementation plan with practical applications that have their place in today's market.

Phase 1: Closed loop payment systems, integrated with point of sale software and hardware, without centralized payment processor in the middle.
Phase 2: Crypto payment acceptance at point of sale, without centralized payment processor in the middle.
Phase 3: Additional applications based on the market demand.

Phase 1: LoyalShopper: a closed loop system based on blockchain
Almost all merchants use (or would like to use) some kind of closed loop payment systems in a form of Loyalty Reward Points, Gift Cards, Store Credits, or Discount Promotional Coupons. Lyra offers an alternative to traditional closed loop systems, a solution based on blockchain.

What is LoyalShopper?
https://docs.lyra.live/faq/what-is-loyalshopper

Why would customers use blockchain-based LoyalShopper app over centralized server architectures?
https://docs.lyra.live/faq/why-would-customers-use-blockchain-based-loyalshopper-app-over-centralized-server-architectures

Phase 2: Crypto Payment Acceptance
Cryptocurrencies become more and more popular. It’s just a matter of time when they arrive into payment processing mainstream. The merchants and their software providers should be ready.

Lyra will allow crypto payment processing with low fees and instant authorizations and settlements.

How Lyra payments work
Lyra processes crypto payments similar to how PayPal processes payments online with a linked bank account: a customer (buyer) deposits funds to a Lyra account, then these funds can be instantly transferred to another customer (merchant). If cryptocurrency supports instant transactions, then the entire process of deposit and payment can be combined into one instant transaction (similar to PayPal payment with linked credit card).

More clarifications on Lyra tokens: http://lyra.live/#lyrtokens

LYR TOKENS
Lyra “native” tokens (Lyra.LYR, or simply LYR) will be used by the network for authorizer nodes voting and paying a fee for certain types of transactions. LYR tokens will be distributed through the upcoming faucet, airdrop, and bounties.
In the future, Lyra users and third party developers might need to purchase LYR tokens from the market in order to run their applications.

LYR is not a real money, it’s not even cryptocurrency per se – we just have to have it to kick off Lyra network to enable DPoS, jump start network activities, and incentivize network and application development. While it will retain its voting and governance power, it might be eventually supplemented by real fiat and crypto currencies (their Lyra surrogates, actually) as a payment method for some transaction types.

LYRA must enter the market and create a real business as soon as possible, otherwise it will become one of thousands of useless crypto that do not have any practical application and will never gain any real value. Unique LYRA design features such as high scalability, multi token support, instant authorizations and settlements, zero fee basic transactions, and super light clients enable various use cases that would be difficult, expensive, or impossible to implement on traditional blockchain networks.
