Can anyone explain the block difference between what the QT read and what the pools read?

QT is about 200 blocks behind

Block 41,236 vs Block 41,431

both counts taken at the same time

NVM - It caught up now. Back to normal. Did nothing but leave it open beyond the sync period.

Hi can you please add multipool.in to your list of pools?  0% PPLNS.  Thanks.

It is not the dev's job to create all the services around a coin like some of the other alts.  This creates a more centralized coin, which is not the intended purpose.

Says who? It's up to the developer and ultimately the community to decide how services will be rolled out.  I understand where you are coming from, however,  if you think Mega is strong enough to just grow organically, I'd strongly disagree. This coin needs developer input and updates.

Says a normal free market that is decentralized. UNOCS & Friends is in the business of centralization to make money, rather than develop a coin, they develop services for a copy coin.

I do not have to be a soothsayer to tell you that UNOCS will reach a point where it becomes open to all currencies and the original coins themselves will become meaningless.

The only thing you guys are trying to implement is centralization and control.

In any normal market business & economics will tell you that a good product will breed third party services, and not vice versa. As you are already aware there are numerous existing third-party exchanges, gambling websites, web stores, etc which provide services and the need for self-made services is not a major priority.

Sup alien can you give any help on the source for MEC so i can update ?

The update was mainly a change to the gui and was not a fork update so you will be just fine running the older version until he has time to release the updated source.  Your block explorer and pool should remain in sync with the block chain.  I can confirm that your block explorer is on the correct block.

Thanks

Thanks. I needed that peptalk!

Well the price should jump then..
Remember the days when it was 500 per block  Cheesy

One can only hope! Need to get more real world services for the coin.

Yea, we definitely need more services. I'm sure Kimoto is working on a few things, but it would be nice to see him online more than a few minutes a week.
I'm trying to not lose my faith in MEC.

Ya initially that is what I did but when blockchain was almost done that is when the error appeared.. so like I said I let it create a new address.. download chain.. then once that was up to date.. closed it down.. replaced with my original wallet.dat and re-opened.. and all seems good now..

I do like that you have made a different looking wallet program than all the others.. on another note..one other thing I wish someone would change.. is stop having every friggin wallet be "wallet.dat".. is there no one that can code a different wallet name to help distinguish them from others.. like "megacoinwallet.dat" as an example.. just something that if you want to set yourself apart even more.. all wallets named the same is a pet-peeve of mine.. but on whole.. I like the new wallet look for sure Smiley

I am on windows 8 64 bit and since I upgraded to new 0.8.994  (cool looking and different wallet - finally one that doesn't look like every other one).. I get errors and it crashes and closes.  I removed all appdata but wallet so it could re-download chain but it just gives me a "System error: CDB(): can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974"  I believe there is a problem.  All other wallets I own work fine.. so it's not me.. anyone else have this happen or have a fix?

[Update]
I removed my wallet.dat from the appdata and let it create a new address and download blockchain again.. then moved my wallet.dat back to replace one it created after the whole blockchain was reloaded.. and now it "seems" to be working again with my original wallet address...I shall keep eye on it.. just to let you know in case this happens to anyone else.. at least its not crashing any more.. this could be some kind of upgrade problem when installing and uninstalling newer versions of megacoin wallet software on Win8(64).

That sounds weird, I have never had any issues with it. When in doubt, backup the wallet.DAT and re-install everything. That usually seems to work for any coin.
