Does having more computer memory help to mine this coin faster? is this why this is called memorycoin?

Yes, 1GB is a minimum memory requirement. The current best CPU miner benefits a lot from additional memory - 1GB per core is optimal.

Do AES-NI really increases performance? I have read that these additional instructions are only useful for AES algorithms, but even the bitcoin algorithm is a different one (SHA-256), and, of course, the scrypt bases coins or other cpu-only coins such as quark use another different algorithms, but no one at all is using AES.

So, the question is whether the increase in performance is due to the fact of having AES-NI or maybe it is because of using much more ram (if available) optimizing this way the calculations?

It really does - this coin pow is designed to use those instructions.

Anyone have a guide or pointers on how to cloud mine this using this pool http://mmcpool.com/en using Digital Ocean and the yvg1900 miner? thanks!

Target OK
Error: boost::bad_any_cast: failed conversion using boost::any_cast

Any idea what can be wrong?

Maybe botnet friendly, except for huge memory use and the fact that yvg1900 will smoke you out and sue you if you use his builds on a botnet without permissions ;l)

Looks like memorycoin is again botnet friendly really hard to get mmc this last 4h

Edit:

Yes, that's right! I am so glad they optimized the CPU miner for MMC, now almost puts the GPU miner to shame.
Granted I am using 54 servers, but I find it quite profitable. About 30-40HPM per server.

Here are my miner stats:

Calculator here:

Cheers! I hope to see more CPU miners join the game. This is truly unique coin and not a clone.

Probably the performance boost is only for newer CPUs. I've been running the core2 build of this miner for about 4 hours on my Q9650. Not a single share accepted and the hashrate is lower than the default miner has.

"At the moment I believe that there is no point running yam M7j on non-AES-NI configs - I expect it may be slower even than original miner, because of non-AES-NI codepath did not get enough attention from me. Probably for next versions."

I was just reading through another thread about the pool at 1GH.com, and it sounds like the pool owner is actually bragging about having over 50% of the network?

Pool-locked (without creative host redirection), closed source miner + over 50% of the network.  What the fuck?  No wonder the value of this coin has taken a nosedive over the past week or so.

Why should anyone trust this guy?

I wish I had sold all of my MMC two weeks ago and bought a double amount of them now. But you never know.

yvg1900 has made huge optimizations to the CPU miners - upto 400% on the latest processors, putting CPUs back on an equal footing with GPUs - more here

Yeah, the new CPU miner is better than GPU mining. I'm getting a 320% performance boost with my i7 3770k. Infact, my 3770k is outperforming my 7950 GPU, while using around 33% of the power. Amazing.

11hpm --> 33hpm.

that'll do nicely, thank you!

Before you ask, it's a 286 with a badass watercooling system overclocked to like, 89273764Ghz and has a laser on it. Yo!

Though I would much rather the dev's request a donation to download the app, rather than it being hardcoded. Seems like ransomware to me. Still, as long as I keep getting MMC's i'll leave my desktop switched on.

oh yeah, to add, bter.com suck donkey balls. I sent 1x mmc to test all was working, blockchain says 500+ confirmations and [email protected] doesn't reply. so, time to vote for cryptsy as for whatever can be said about them, they get my vote waaay more than bter.com

I remembered i have some memorycoins today from back in october, but when after i import my wallet.dat i just get unconfirmed coins after sync, am I missing something?

Edit: having looked at block 1 of memorycoin 2.0, I can see the address the coins were sent from(bter) contained the coins, despite having received them on the beta/1.0 chain on 18/10/2013. Guess my transaction happened after you took your snapshot. Sad

Top 100 richest mmc addresses in real time: http://agran.net/mmc_getbalance.php?top=100

Yet another informational and good site from you. Great job!

Glad to see the charity address in the top 50!

It's an unspendable address witch was filled at the beginning when there was no vote.
