Hi, my wallet keeps giving me this error:

"Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."

I have the latest wallet installed (V0.8.561.0-unk-beta).

It keeps trying to syncronize saying 0 hours (green bar). And no new transactions show up.

What can I do to solve this?

P.S. Solved the sync issue (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1505.0) but it still gives me the warning and no coins...

P.S. Solved. Deleted the Blocks and Chainstate folders from %appdata% and now eveything is cool.

When you say "this coin is GPU resistant", you really mean to say "this coin is botnet friendly". Because, anyone who intends to invest in mining will invest in the higher cost/performance option. If a GPU makes better sense, they will buy that. With the heterogenous technology, they won't even have to chose.

This is the conclusion I came to.  I suspect FreeTrade would need to learn ins and outs of GPU processing to make a really solid MMC.  Find what a GPU can't do, then make that small portion a regular part of the hash/PoW.  Maybe make the threads(?) interdependent moreso.

I would love to learn GPU programming so I could speak with authority. One thing I have decided is that making something resistant to GPU/SHA256ers just makes it more susceptible to bot nets.

What is the proper trade off ?

Why GPU Miners Are Good For CPU coins
http://memorycoin.org/gpu-miner/

Your view on the differences between CPUs and GPUs is very simplistic. In essence, both are instruction processing units. "GPUs" are optimized to do vector processing better, while "CPUs" are optimized to do "logical" processing better.

There is no way to prevent GPUs from participating in the game by requiring "more main memory". For two reasons: high end graphics cards come with huge amounts of very fast RAM, that is used for large matrix operations AND its already some time since AMD has announced their heterogenous technology. I have no doubt that Intel will copy it, if they have not already. These days, 4GB of RAM is really low end..

So in a nutshell, I believe it is wrong to have this CPU vs GPU fight.

Thanks for this information. I didn't seem to notice about the comparisons between Memorycoin's and Bitcoin's/Litecoin's GPU advantages.

Now if you can make GPUs possibly 50% slower in the next coin. ( Cheesy )

First, I want to apologize for not reading the entire thread but I do intend on doing so, especially due to my wallet containing more coins as I mine them:

I felt compelled to vote, out of support for the coin and managed to vote the proper amount to 1 person/position... but:

1. can you deliver the candidates to me through the wallet or at least a notification that something is up for vote? I will open my wallet more often than this or other threads. Spam to my wallet asking me to vote will work as well as anything besides actually buying my vote. I was clueless as to why I voted beyond my impression of a contributors effort.

2. I'd like to see a standard form where candidates submit their resume's in a standard format - each candidate using the same platform

http://memorycoin.org/candidates/
The results are calculated continuously, every two hours, so you don't need to vote when there is an election, you should just vote when you change your mind about who you want to see in office.

3. can the duration of a term float based on the goals of the officer, example, joe is running for ceo and promises to deliver a feature by a certain date - which turns out be joe's term of office.

4. the ability of recall elections seems already available, if everybody casts 1 unit for NO OFFICER I suppose everyone is instantly fired?

I'm sure there's lots of good ideas, I just wanted to put some voting concerns out there.

Technically the duration of office is 2 hours . . . there are spoiler addresses . . if a spoiler address is elected, that effectively fires whoever is in office.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply. You've earned another vote if I cast the first one where you withdrew. Checking now.

per wallet?
it seems you don't even grasp the basics of what a wallet is. that's not possible.
even if it was - you'd make multiple wallets to manipulate the votes. doesn't change anything.

a 30 minute voting windows is also great for a decentralized product. what timezone do you propose?

you just troll around without offering good alternatives. if you don't like the idea of honoring people for dedicated work on a coin, why do you even bother with the only one out there which makes use of this concept?
what do you think where it's current value comes from? because it's a new idea and a promising concept, if the the jobs are done well! and i think they are (while there's still room to improve, but again, where are the better candidates?)

Looks like you shouldn't have opened your mouth.

Anyway, I gave no problem paying people for what they do or for their efforts. It's the flawed system and the conflict of interest that exist with the Dev and the created positions that I have a problem with. Unfortunately for me, I did not realize this until a couple weeks mining putting in my own effort, time and money.

Take a look at this address, the CEO's number one voter, M9rJudKWdiE4dQd2K6DD9bLtkviKwnhNZG.

M9rJudKWdiE4dQd2K6DD9bLtkviKwnhNZG looks like it received 38,644 coins from MVTEoEoXmYzFydRfg5uNJRewt9tZ329fAN On Christmas. Merry Christmas!

MVTEoEoXmYzFydRfg5uNJRewt9tZ329fAN Received the 38,644 coins in the 1st block. This address is also the same address used by FreeTrade when promoting the Memorycoin Foundation. Google the address and you will see posts of FreeTrade urging people to vote for the address during memorycoin 1.0. It's not hard to imagine who is in control of those coins. Any guesses?

Its this crap and then weighting the vote that gets me. Each position has earned close to 15k coins so far. If we are not there yet, very soon we be at a point were you will never be able to vote him out. As long as he sucked enough miners in there will be incentive for people to make the coin appreciate if they want their investments to flourish regardless of what the CEO, CMO, CTO etc. does, which could end up being nothing.

I'm getting ZERO accepted with my HD 6970 2GB card at 14~15 hpm. Seems like I'm never able to mine this damn coin, cpu and/or gpu...LMFAO!!!

I noticed that Reorder, the author of the GPU miner, has said there is a problem with the 6xxxx series cards.

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1784.msg21095#msg21095

I think he's working on it....

Would be great. Now I'm getting crazy numbers now when I execute it, 280~400 hpm with continuous rejects...LOL

I have a feeling it's software related and just need a miner optimized for HD 5000 and HD 6000 series.

Is there any info out there on the GPU mining of MMC?  I know reorder posted about it in another topic, but it seems that there are enough pools offering it now that the source is most likely released somewhere.

What other pools offer GPU mining?

I suggested they release the source for solo miner farms but only one pool is available. I'm getting all rejects with my GPU anyway.

my 270 is at A/R/T = 433/30/37

A = accepted
R = rejected
T = timeout?

Am I reading that right?  Is that good or too many rejects?

Normal

%86 accept
%6 reject
%8 timeout

At least your mining, I take half my speed just to mine....LOL

More likely either an architecture issue with the harware and/or software related. But, I'm leaning towards software, as the miner might be optimized for HD 7000's series and not the HD 5000's or HD 6000's. I would assume that a miner would work with the two older generation cards since they all share similar drivers and/or openGL.
