I have a block explorer up for MemoryCoin. It can be found here:

http://www.chainbrowser.com/memorycoin/

Have a few more cosmetic things to add, but thought it would be useful for now.

Does the search address function works ?
i can't get it working or there is something wrong?
thank you.

try without space as last character

~1.12% - ProtoShares Holders
ProtoShares owners as at Block 32000 will receive a distribution at a rate of 1 MMC for each 10PTS. With around 1 Million PTS issued, there will be 100,000MMC distributed in this way, and PTS owners will cumulatively have a 1% stake in MemoryCoin at launch.  You can import your balance by using your ProtoShares wallet with MemoryCoin. It is recommend that you transfer your balance to a fresh MemoryCoin wallet after import.

Does the memorycoin client download the PTS blockchain in order to do this? Hoping that someone can please explain how this works. Thanks Smiley
Before release he gathered all the values of all the PTS addresses(public keys) at block 32000. These were then all honored in the genesis block of MMC. So basically you have the private key to those public keys listed in the MMC genesis block. Just import the keys from your PTS stash, and ta da MMC gives your coins.

So in short, here the mistakes with this coin

1. PREMINE
2. Difficulty to high
3. Block Time vs. Reward
4. No pools or proper implementation of miner.

in other words; the coin was 100 times better if the block time was faster, there was a slow raising reward system, proper distribution for protoshare holders (POS?), no premine for the developers.

THIS COIN IS MADE ONLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE DEVELOPERS WALLET!!
1. No premine. Old users of the memorycoin v1 were honored, and protoshares holders. Nothing was actually mined.
2-3. If it was too low you would be complaining that the botnets were taking over the coin.
4. Soon

Vires in Numeris
So :

First there is a 7.3% premine.
Then, 5% more go to the 5 Memorycoin officers.
(1% each. Every officer get 2.8 coin/block, just by being officer)

That's a lot of coins who are not mined by the network/people.
Do they actually get 2.8 MMC every time a block is found?
Isn't it taken out of the premine?

Also, something about this whole system seems shady.
There was a vote, but only people holding previous memory coins could vote?
Also two of the people got two positions... so they get twice the number of coins for doing nothing?

With people valueing these coins at .02 or .03 BTC each, these folks get 200,000 MMC each, with a value of 4000-6000 BTC....

Wait what?

Premine

~6.2% - MemoryCoin Beta
All balances from the original MemoryCoin as at block 8820 are transferred into the new blockchain at Block 1. MemoryCoin 2.0 has 10 million coins so there is a significant dilution. This dilution does not apply to MCF supporters. You can import your balance by using your old wallet with the new blockchain.

Is this right? -
I save my current wallet, drop my old MemoryCoin wallet into the folder with the current blockchain, and start the coin again. Then what, how do I combine the two wallets?

Actually I'm not clear exactly what % goes to the officers.  I think it's only 1%.... 1/5th of a block reward every 20 blocks...

No...Unless I misunderstood what you said. There is only 7.3% pre-mine but it goes to owners of either the original MemoryCoin 1.0, or at a 10 PTS to 1 MMC ratio for ProtoShares.

There is a total premine of ~7.3% distributed over a wide range of addresses, comprised of two parts,

Yep what you have quoted above is the premine.  Then additionally 6% of all new minted coin goes to the the 6 officers, 1% each.  I think that's what bidji is saying, which is what I understood to be the case too.

oh...didn't know about the additional pre-mine.

Yeah that realisation is the last straw for me.  I've been holding off mining until block reward went up and diff algo was sorted, but this really is pointless now.  Too much coin already out there, too difficult to mine new coin.  When/if it hits an exchange the price will be pretty low I think.
