At this point, is it even worth solo mining anymore with a below average laptop gpu setup? Or has that ship sailed, and pool mining is where it's at?

upgraded to a Vardiff Stratum pool with blockfinder rewards.

How do I add a node? Is it a line that I put in the .conf file? I have the newest client, but I am still not syncing even after I downloaded the block chain and created the .conf file. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance
