The second round has been finalized, with BQC, DGC, IFC, MNC, QRK, SBC, and ZET successfully completing process. While IXC and SRC were accepted, they didn't follow up with a fee payment, and were therefore removed.

I personally can fulfill this requirement, but would like to extend an invitation to the mining pools and developers for donations as well. This would be good exposure for a solid coin similar to Quark without the ridiculous 200+ million coin front loaded mine.

Introduction

ALTcointip is a Reddit user tip bot that allows cryptocurrency enthusiasts to introduce new users and grow their community through the magic of giving. By participating in ALTcointip, each cryptocurrency gets a chance to be exposed to Reddit community and gain additional supporters. Round One

Round one coin list has been solidified to BTC, LTC, PPC, NMC, XPM, and MEC. Round one list will remain unchanged until end of 2014.

Round Two Signups

Round two coin list is now being formed. This thread serves as an announcement for the signups as well as application for potential candidates. Round two coins will also be supported through the end of 2014. There is 6 available slots for round two.

Round Two Qualifications

To qualify for consideration, a cryptocurrency must:

* Be launched on or before August 2013
* Be supported by at least one well-known cryptocurrency exchange
* Have a market cap of at least $100,000, as determined by coinmarketcap.com
* Be open-source and support 64-bit Linux platform

A Note About Funding

In order to support more cryptocurrencies, ALTcointip will require an additional VPS (virtual private server) to host coin daemons. A typical 4GB VPS costs $80/month or $960/year, which means that I will have to raise money in order to expand hosting. I ask each applicant to raise/commit $100 worth of their cryptocurrency as the means of payment for hosting and supporting their cryptocoin.

While ALTcointip bot is a free and open-source project, hosting and supporting it isn't. If you (or your community) can't raise $100 but want to be able to tip Reddit users with your cryptocoin, I invite you to set up and run your own ALTcointip instance.
