ANNOUNCEMENT It is with great pleasure we announce the immediate release of
Mincoin Core v0.13.0.
This is a mandatory upgrade which includes security enhancements and several new features.
The network will undergo a protocol upgrade for
BIP66,
BIP65 and the CSV softfork (
BIP68,
BIP112 and
BIP113) with this release.
The protocol upgrade will take quite a while to lock-in and become active.
Therefore, we have lots of time for promotion and bounties.
We hope you enjoy this new release as much as we enjoyed making it.
And for the final good news, our testnet is already fully functional with the new protocol and has also been upgraded to support SegWit.
Feel free to test all of your NextGen applications on the testnet and don't hesitate to ask for some tMNC.
The
Release Notes are comprehensive as there were many changes between the upstream 0.8 branch and our rebase to v0.13.0.

With this release, dust is 0.00002730 MNC.
New Feature -
Hierarchical Deterministic Wallets.
The best way to upgrade is with a fresh installation.
Most users will want to do this to take advantage of the HD Wallet feature.
If you have a second computer then it should be simple to start with an empty data directory, install Mincoin Core v0.13.0 and then transfer your mincoins from the old wallet into the new wallet using your other machine.
Always shutdown Mincoin and make a backup of your data directory before upgrading.
On Windows, the data directory is in %APPDATA%\Mincoin.
On macOS, the data directory is in ~/Library/Application Support/Mincoin
On Linux, the data directory is in ~/.mincoin
This new wallet is going to rebuild the blocks ondisk in a new format and so it will look like a full sync from genesis on the first startup.
We have built a linear
bootstrap.dat to help speed up the process.
Tutorials and other automation including deployment routines will come in time.
Be advised to upgrade as soon as possible.
One of the easiest ways to deal with moving out of an old wallet and into a HD Wallet will be to temporarily deposit your coins somewhere else and then withdraw them into the new wallet after the full sync has completed.
Look for us on the
Mincoin Discord Server to receive technical support.
SURPRISE We now support ARM architecture (both
32-bit and
64-bit).
This means you can easily use your Raspberry Pi to run a Mincoin node.
Best Regards,
-The Mincoin Core Development Team
