Where is the Source Code!! Miners dont run strange shit without vetting it let along give it control of their miners!!  Cheesy

So again.. where is there source code!

Hi Zedicus,

I understand where you're coming from but, to be honest, this isn't an open source app. It's something we've put a lot of time and effort into and we don't just want to post all our code for everyone to be able to copy and clone left, right and center.

All the app does is feeds all your miner's stats to our website, and also sends signals FROM the website to your miners to tell them which pool it should be mining, instructions to throttle up or down etc. You can see everything in CGMiner as it happens so you know where it's mining at any point in time.

If you're really worried you could always use some kind of monitoring tool like http://www.charlesproxy.com/documentation/additional/http-monitor/ until you feel confident that the app isn't doing anything shady.

I know security is a big issue these days but this app is really something we feel could be a lot of use to a lot of people - we're in it for the long run so really wouldn't want to do anything dishonest that would jeopardize the future of the site.

I know you understand where im coming from because its almost "etiquette" for this kind of app /service to include git link!!

The reason for that is so that we dont have to take your word that the app does only what its supposed to!

Clearly you dont think security should be at the forefront of a mining operation. Clearly you havent thought it through or maybe you have other reasons for not providing the source code.

Hopefully you are not the IRS gathering emails and mining info and sending it back to their servers or should i say the server that picks who gets audited next!

or Hopefully "you" are not controlling our miner remotely from any device.. a lil "one for me and one for you" bit..

or Hopefully your not ... ( oh wait.. thats right we are supposed to take your word and close our eyes and jump? )  Shocked

Hey Guys,
Cool site. I just signed up. Still waiting on the confirmation email. I'm glad you decided to bring fail coin back from the dead. It's too FAIL to fail :O)

-Xero

Sorry we had some issues with e-mails being blocked - they should be sorted now but for those who didn't receive their activation email I've manually activated all the accounts.

EDIT: I'm not sure it's back from the dead yet - but we can try! Smiley

No CudaMiner support? Huh

Not yet, if there's enough demand for it we can look at implementing that.

There is an announcement on the site that they had and resolved outgoing email issues.

I actually started using site (logged and configured pool) even without using confirmation email.  There should also be an option to resend email in the account settings somewhere.

This actually looks really good!

Rofl at the post above re the 2 miners image! Just proves that we don't always see what others see when we create graphics!!!

Seriously though, it does look as if a lot of effort gone into this - will be digging deeper.

Hehe, yes, a LOT of effort has gone into it! We've been using it internally for a couple of weeks now and we find it really useful. Hopefully we can get some users giving it a try and get the community involved a little more Smiley

Will take a look into this and let you know. Thanks.

Hello

Just wanted to make everyone aware of a new service we have launched in beta mode: MinePit https://www.minep.it.

What is MinePit

What MinePit (currently) offers is essentially 2-fold.

1. A client application that allows you to monitor and remotely control your miners from any web enabled device with a browser.
2. A collection of mining pools that can be mined with or without using the client software

Some things you can do after enabling the client software on your local network:
- Control your miners from your bed, on a mobile phone, tablet or laptop
- Control the intensity of your miners from the web based control panel
- Control what pools your miner is mining
- Monitor stats such as hash rate, temperature, accepted/rejected shares and more...

Some things you will be able to do soon:
- Pool autoswitching based on various rules
- Scheduled mining rules
- Auto trade mined coins with customizable selling rules
- And more to come...

Installing the app is quick and easy. After creating an account at MinePit you will be able to download the app, and after a quick edit of a config file you should be up and running.

If you're just looking to mine, we have various pools on offer and will be constantly adding more. We aim to offer a good variety of coins and will be happy to take on board feedback from any users. Additionally only one account is needed (your main MinePit account) and then to start mining a new pool is just a couple of clicks away. We currently support Scrypt and Scrypt-N coins but will look to add support for more algorithms if necessary.

Benefits of mining at MinePit
- Only one account needed to access all our pools (no need to keep registering for each coin)
- Custom interface (not your standard MPOS websites)
- Auto payouts every 3 minutes
- Max 1.5% fee (promo codes will be available at various times)
- High end, scalable server infrastructure
- DDOS protection
- Auto worker creation (no need to keep creating workers for each pool/miner)
- Integrated IRC chatroom to talk with your fellow miners

Current Pools
LTC - LiteCoin
VTC - VertCoin
DOGE - DogeCoin
FTC - FeatherCoin
MEOW - KittehCoin
POT - PotCoin
KDC - KlondikeCoin
FLAP - FlappyCoin
FAIL - FailCoin

If you feel like giving it a go then hop on over to https://www.minep.it and sign up.

We'll be taking feedback here in this thread and in the on-site chat room.

Let us know what you think!

P.S. To aid the launch we are offering 0% fees for the first 50 users, for life.

Thanks...
MinePit Team
