What's going on with the project? The community doesn't look happy at all...

Not sure what really happened but the project is still going recently they published a progress report in this month ''Mintlayer Node - May 2022 Progress Report''
Social media is also active at least make a tweet almost every day and a decent place for discussion is on telegram I see the community is more active there
I see MLT is listed on CoinMarketCap but no data available.

What happened to Mintlayer is described in this article: https://www.albertodeluigi.com/2022/10/12/crypto-project-investors-money-lost-in-luxury-goods/

The telegram community passed from 40,000 users to less than 25,000. Currently I see mainly users from the group 4AM (a service paid to keep the chats active) doing copy-paste of prepared questions and answers.

San Marino removed RBB (the company that collected the money to develop Mintlayer) from the list of token issuers.

We rebranded (and upgraded) the project into Sequentia, here the telegram chat: https://t.me/sequentia_official

I don't see any results of this sale on their twitter. All I see is that some people had a problem buying coins. What do you know about this or should this project be considered fraudulent?
You can't describe the project as fraudulent just because you didn't find updates about the info you received by email. Please check you email inbox if you received the email from the official Mintlayer address. Also you can check other official channels[1][2] or report the email to support or via telegram group.
Honestly, i didn't receive this email and i will wait for a confirmation from other users as the manager seems to be inactive in this topic since a long period.

Mintlayer pre-sale. Soon the first round of pre-sale will open to the public.

If you successfully passed the KYC, you can see the pre-sale countdown on your dashboard in the launch.mintlayer.org platform.
When the countdown ends, three tickets will appear on your dashboard. No need to refresh the page to see them.

Don't waste time when you see them, click on the ticket you want to buy and then confirm that choice.

If you are faster than the others, you will see a success message and the ticket is booked for you. You have up to 4 days (96 hours) to pay in BTC to confirm your allocation.

If you clicked on a button but there is no allocation left for the ticket you selected, you can try to buy another smaller ticket like the 100$ one.

Beware that if you buy a smaller ticket, you would not be able to participate in the next round when you might have the chance to grab a larger allocation.

Once you finalized the purchase, you will see the updated balance in your dashboard. You will be able to claim your MLT tokens upon Token Generation Event.

The team is currently targeting the end of the first quarter of 2022 for the TGE, but there is not a definitive date. The date could vary according to market conditions, VCs suggestions, agreements with third parties such as auditors and launchpads, or development updates.

If you do not get an allocation in this round, you will have more chances. You can wait for the countdown for the next sale round that will be announced early next year.

Please beware of fake Telegram channels and impersonators!

No, the presale isn't over. On monday 22 the presale (called fair sale) on launchpool is happening. Only when it's finished (first week of december) the presale on launch.mintlayer.org starts. The KYC is required both for withdrawals of MLT from the launch platform and the whitelisting for the presale.
I have a question about the pre-sale. I have seen that if someone who has done KYC has already given $900 allocation to buy MLT tokens but can you tell me about the price for each token?
I can't find that anywhere. Is that a guaranteed allocation?
When i have done KYC verification and pay $900 for some MLT tokens and when will i get my tokens? What kind of asset that will be used by MLT tokens? Ethereum, BSC, or something else?
The price will be 0.1452$ per token according to this page https://launch.mintlayer.org/dashboard
For 900 USD you will get 6,198.347 MLT . But payments are only accepted in Bitcoin, onchain or through the Lightning Network.

I have carefully read https://www.mintlayer.org/mlt/ and am trying to understand a little bit how it works
so if i stake MLT in the dedicated wallet, can i withdraw bitcoin in the mainnet?

it looks a lot like the stake system, and I like that very much (i mean miamicoin and other citycoin)

staking on Mintlayer network allows you to earn fees paid in any token issued on Mintlayer. To earn Bitcoin on mainnet, you have to execute a DEX transaction between Mintlayer sidechain and BTC mainchain (atomic swap or lightning swap)

Is the presale of Mynthlayer already over! I click on the link shared above and it leads to where kyc should be done, is this process for receiving this airdrop they are giving or for the presale?
I want to know the details before going ahead with the verification process.

Cool that early adopters get an additional 25 MLT. Appreciated!  Smiley
That was confirmed for the early, because I just registered yesterday and complete all task, I only get 150 MLT max without reff.
I also did register for whitelist, it's about 24 hours after I complete filling additional required info, but the KYC verification is still pending. I hope, my wait won't take 1 week or longer.
150MLT is still a pretty large amount, and you're quite lucky because thanks to the new pay rates I only got 50MLT(with referrer) at the end  Tongue
Mintlayer seems to be a victim of its own success actually

Quote
And the enthusiasm seems to be spreading. The growth curve looks seems to be exponential. But the Mintlayer token supply is finite. Consequently, the airdrop rewards for all activities will be revised as follows:

15 MLT for joining Telegram
10 MLT for joining Twitter
15 MLT for retweeting our post
10 MLT for signing up with a referral code
5 MLT for any invited users who signup with your referral code

These new reward levels will be applied to the launch.mintlayer.org platform very soon, only to new users. If you have already an account, your balance doesn't change.

I had to set a new password and had a quick chat with the customer service. Worked perfectly! Anyone who can't log in should take a quick look at their email inbox.

I did last minutes ago, I Live to Chat with customer service, Ankit Kumar on https://launch.mintlayer.org, because I can't log in also.
I have successfully received the link into my email and created a new password, and now can log in into the website. Seems like I got additional MLT to be 175 MLT now.

Hey ! What problems did you encounter? Give complete technical information - which platform is hardware, operating system (including bit depth), and chronology of node installation (commands, at what stage and what happened). I will try to help you compile - everything worked out for me, not right away, tk. there are small "nuances"

Found help on Telegram. Thanks anyway!  Smiley

By the way: The Mintlayer Launch Platform is back online!

I have a little trouble compiling the code myself. The Github readme helps, but a guide would really be helpful. Will the step-by-step guide be available in different languages? If yes, I would write an information post for the German subboard. I am sure that many other users from the German speaking board would be interested.

I got it also, 50 MLT just joined telegram. it could be more (100 MLT) if add a Twitter account and retweet the post.
Is it still opened to join today?

I got a link from Telegram but it was expired or the link was moved to a new one. I guess the campaign already ended. If it is still opened, please help me because I want to join it.

No the website is currently under maintenance but when it will be operational again you should be able to grab some MLT tokens again like that :

The project looks to be very great with more than $5.2M was secured in Seed phase and many big backers and partners.

I read but not totally understand it. It seems the project is for Bitcoin and Lightning network only. Is it compatible with BSC or Avax?

No it's not the same protocol but I've read on the telegram channel that "there will be tools for creating pegged versions of BSC tokens"
Unlike BSC and Avax, Mintlayer will use a non-Turing complete language.

Quote
Both EVM and WASM are Turing-complete, which means that the system can process whatever rule-set of data manipulation, opening up virtually infinite possibilities for developers to create smart contracts. Instead, Mintlayer uses the Bitcoin-like script-based approach: it is non-Turing complete and therefore limited by a determined set of rules that must be followed. This approach sacrifices some versatility in exchange for higher safety, sustainability, and speed of validation.
Generally, script-based smart contracts tend to produce less network pollution and execute faster than Turing-complete contracts, thus ensuring a more manageable environment for developers. On the contrary, complicated architectures on blockchains end up causing more issues than benefits: having endless possibilities might end up clogging servers, while at its core, a Turing-complete system is not even required by most blockchain applications.
[...]
It is one of the main reasons why Solidity smart contracts have shown a higher probability of breaking over time: among the historical failures, more notable ones are the DAO hack and Parity's multiple signature validation program. On the other hand, the possibilities provided by a script-based system are sufficient and proportionate to the purpose of Mintlayer’s DeFi and DEX functionalities, without incurring the risks of Turing completeness. By combining several simple scripts, it is possible to produce highly advanced contracts.

First of all, great community call boys! And congrats on launching the Mintlayer testnet! Keep up the good work.  Smiley

Is there any update on the testnet step-by-step guide? Is there already a schedule when the guide will be published?

Quote
Are you ready!? The Mintlayer testnet is officially launched! Soon, we will have a comprehensive step-by-step guide for installing and running a node. You can get an early start today if you are comfortable working with GitHub and compiling code yourself.

when I read the whitepaper, there is a bitcoin blockchain with mintlayer sidechains, I'm not sure about this, but I read up about MLS-02 reward also

and the point is, when they launched core wallet, that is possible their own the mintlayer blockchain.

thank you
very interesting, so it would be like Lightning Network or like RSK https://www.rsk.co/
I don't understand much technically, but I understand that they work related to bitcoin but on parallel blockchain, tell me if I'm wrong

given the success of Lightning Network, I think MintLayer will have similar success
