Not sure what really happened but the project is still going recently they published a progress report in this month ''Mintlayer Node - May 2022 Progress Report''
Social media is also active at least make a tweet almost every day and a decent place for discussion is on telegram I see the community is more active there
I see MLT is listed on CoinMarketCap but no data available.

What's going on with the project? The community doesn't look happy at all...

I don't see any results of this sale on their twitter. All I see is that some people had a problem buying coins. What do you know about this or should this project be considered fraudulent?

If you successfully passed the KYC, you can see the pre-sale countdown on your dashboard in the launch.mintlayer.org platform.
When the countdown ends, three tickets will appear on your dashboard. No need to refresh the page to see them.

Don't waste time when you see them, click on the ticket you want to buy and then confirm that choice.

If you are faster than the others, you will see a success message and the ticket is booked for you. You have up to 4 days (96 hours) to pay in BTC to confirm your allocation.

If you clicked on a button but there is no allocation left for the ticket you selected, you can try to buy another smaller ticket like the 100$ one.

Beware that if you buy a smaller ticket, you would not be able to participate in the next round when you might have the chance to grab a larger allocation.

Once you finalized the purchase, you will see the updated balance in your dashboard. You will be able to claim your MLT tokens upon Token Generation Event.

The team is currently targeting the end of the first quarter of 2022 for the TGE, but there is not a definitive date. The date could vary according to market conditions, VCs suggestions, agreements with third parties such as auditors and launchpads, or development updates.

If you do not get an allocation in this round, you will have more chances. You can wait for the countdown for the next sale round that will be announced early next year.

I have a question about the pre-sale. I have seen that if someone who has done KYC has already given $900 allocation to buy MLT tokens but can you tell me about the price for each token?
I can't find that anywhere. Is that a guaranteed allocation?
When i have done KYC verification and pay $900 for some MLT tokens and when will i get my tokens? What kind of asset that will be used by MLT tokens? Ethereum, BSC, or something else?

No, the presale isn't over. On monday 22 the presale (called fair sale) on launchpool is happening. Only when it's finished (first week of december) the presale on launch.mintlayer.org starts. The KYC is required both for withdrawals of MLT from the launch platform and the whitelisting for the presale.

so if i stake MLT in the dedicated wallet, can i withdraw bitcoin in the mainnet?

That was confirmed for the early, because I just registered yesterday and complete all task, I only get 150 MLT max without reff.
I also did register for whitelist, it's about 24 hours after I complete filling additional required info, but the KYC verification is still pending. I hope, my wait won't take 1 week or longer.

Give complete technical information - which platform is hardware, operating system (including bit depth), and chronology of node installation (commands, at what stage and what happened). I will try to help you compile - everything worked out for me, not right away, tk. there are small "nuances"

I have a little trouble compiling the code myself. The Github readme helps, but a guide would really be helpful. Will the step-by-step guide be available in different languages? If yes, I would write an information post for the German subboard. I am sure that many other users from the German speaking board would be interested.

I read but not totally understand it. It seems the project is for Bitcoin and Lightning network only. Is it compatible with BSC or Avax?

Both EVM and WASM are Turing-complete, which means that the system can process whatever rule-set of data manipulation, opening up virtually infinite possibilities for developers to create smart contracts. Instead, Mintlayer uses the Bitcoin-like script-based approach: it is non-Turing complete and therefore limited by a determined set of rules that must be followed. This approach sacrifices some versatility in exchange for higher safety, sustainability, and speed of validation.
Generally, script-based smart contracts tend to produce less network pollution and execute faster than Turing-complete contracts, thus ensuring a more manageable environment for developers. On the contrary, complicated architectures on blockchains end up causing more issues than benefits: having endless possibilities might end up clogging servers, while at its core, a Turing-complete system is not even required by most blockchain applications.

It is one of the main reasons why Solidity smart contracts have shown a higher probability of breaking over time: among the historical failures, more notable ones are the DAO hack and Parity's multiple signature validation program. when I read the whitepaper, there is a bitcoin blockchain with mintlayer sidechains, I'm not sure about this, but I read up about MLS-02 reward also

and the point is, when they launched core wallet, that is possible their own the mintlayer blockchain.
