Looking forward to creating a Mintlayer Wallet.  I will create my wallet immediately.  Will there be a mobile app?  I guess there will be good developments as a result of the testnet.  5 days left for testnet.  I'm looking forward to November 10th.
they prepare for launching core wallet immediately, that possible will create light, web, and mobile application. I'm not sure, but when possible just do fork it from electrum wallet on Github to learn it.

what will be the foundation of tokens in Mintlayer? Will they be issued on a bitcoin separate sidechains or will they work on the actual Mintlayer sidechain? Can you please specify this as I haven't really understood how this os going to work.

when I read the whitepaper, there is a bitcoin blockchain with mintlayer sidechains, I'm not sure about this, but I read up about MLS-02 reward also

and the point is, when they launched core wallet, that is possible their own the mintlayer blockchain.

Extremely happy to get some free MLT tokens at joining.
I'd like to know whether the KYC checking process has begun or is it scheduled for some time later? I've already applied for the same because of the benefits that we are getting to buy MLT tokens cheaper. I'm somewhat confused that even after being whitelisted, why can't I purchase the tokens and it still asks me to register for the whitelist? As well, will MLT wallet be a custodial one?
I got it also, 50 MLT just joined telegram. it could be more (100 MLT) if add a Twitter account and retweet the post.

Less than five days for the testnet boys! Time to get excited!  Cool

I'm really curious and I'm going to try out the test network a little bit on November 10th. Can't wait to create my first NFT on Mintlayer.
That's a great news!  Cheesy I hope people will share their testnet adresses here or on telegram to be able to send and receive those testnet tokens. And maybe someone will even offer you to buy your first NFT against some tokens  Tongue

Why they would be issued on a separate sidechain and not on the "actual Mintlayer" one? You mean there will be a specific sidechain for the tokens? I didn't understand that.

Regarding mintlayer net whether it will be compliant with RSK? i meant a blockchain that can be used by changing its RPC to connect into the network. We know that if this will make people easy to use mintlayer main net instead of using different algo that may make people feel a bit complicated to adapt with a new mainnet that has different mechanism.

it won't be "compliant" with RSK, because it's a new sidechain. If it's anchored to Bitcoin it can't have other mechanisms looking at RSK. But EVM contracts written in Solidity can be easility ported to Mintlayer as contracts (written in Ink!) in the WASM environment of the programmable pools. This also apply to smart contracts related to SOV for example, which allows to re-create the SOV ecosystem on Mintlayer.

There's also another question about how much MLT will be allocated for SOV stakers?
The detailed SIP is here:  https://github.com/erubboli/SIPS/blob/main/SIP-0033.md

I just go a newsletter from sovryn announcing the Mynthlayer sale on the sovryn dex by Monday, the sip was approved eventually,  good news to all who are eagerly waiting to get their hands on Mynthlayer project, it is happening soon so get your rbtc ready for those who are familiar with the sovryn dex.
im just reading a message from sovryn's admin it says that if the vote will be postponed until end of this month. I didn't know which true statement. It makes me a bit confusing about that
actually, the token "Mynt" is a different token, different project, different sale. It has nothing to do with Mintlayer. The Mintlayer SIP still needs to be approved by Bitocracy.

MLT token won't be custodial, it's trustless and open source. A first webwallet interface will be released soon with testnet. You registered for the white list, then you will have the opportunity to buy tokens when the sale opens (in a few weeks, check your email for further updates or stay update on socials)

Tnx, I'm trying to dive dipper into Mintlayer tech and have learned that  users have the option to "create a transfer, opting in for peer-to-peer batching". Does it mean that if he/she makes the asset  transfer the pertaining transaction will be batched into a single coinjoin trx created with other Mintlayer users? If  that's the case then  the resulting coinjoin transaction will bring the privacy to the table, if I'm not wrong.

yes exactly, that functionality is not yet implemented in the testnet launched the 10th of november (which has just a few basic functions like receive, transfer, create a new token etc.), and it won't even be ready with the mainnet expected in Q1 2022 (the entire development roadmap actually covers 3 years, including lightning network and confidential transactions), but we already have implemented BLS signature on Substrate specifically to aggregate transactions. Here you can find a few info about that: https://www.mintlayer.org/news/2021-05-17-why-mintlayer-adopts-bls-signature/

The idea is to develop a coinjoin functionality in the Bitcoin/Mintlayer wallet like Wasabi does, with the important difference that transactions coinjoined are much - much! - lower in size! That means that users have convenience in batching/coinjoining their transactions together, 'cause they will save money! : )
This will prodive an incentive for everybody to mix coins and - in the end - it will really foster the privacy of the network

The countdown to testnet launch begins: TEN!
The #Mintlayer testnet will be released on the November 10, 2021!

The release of the testnet will be the start of the direct involvement of you, our community members, fans, & everybody in the #Cryptocurrency scene with Mintlayer!

I am very excited to participate in your signature campaign.
I see your excitement......but haven't seen your application...yet. Cheesy
Since we are here we still have a few open slots

Yes, i saw that "while slots are still open" but i read the rules and conditions to participate, i think i am not right for that category, there are many senior accounts who are better than me and they are also not selected. so I didn't apply to join

I have joined your "Earn MLT for free" Airdrop program. and found a token offering for Presale at a price of 0.1452$ per token with vesting type 5.
After reading your token distribution, Token Vesting type 5 is token allocation for Company Reserve with a very long locking period. Can it be changed to vesting type 1, 2 or 3?
And what is the price of MLT tokens for each type of sale ( Pre Seed Sale, Seed Sale, Fair Launch and IDO)?

I have had some issues trying to set the password when registering in the portal. At last I have found one that appeared in green and I have saved it, but only after a lot of attempts and because I knew it would eventually work; other users may give up faster. Could you please have it checked and, maybe, change the parameters in order to accept a larger range of passwords?

The sidechain announces its testnet on the 10th of November 2021. It enables tokenization, staking, lending, and DEXs for native BTC.

Mintlayer is a bit unique, with a platform that everyone is likely to use in the future. Asset tokenization is very much used today, and into the future. Mintlayer is here to be the solution to that.

I've been also browsing Mintlayer.org during the past few days and i can say that i had a good experience. I have two questions :

- I can see that the project is still looking to hire devs and designers. Does this mean that the team is not yet completed and that the project has to find those profiles in order to achieve goals for the next roadmap stages (including the mainnet launch which is expected to happen in Q1 2022)? And why not hiring those profiles from bitcointalk? Note that there is no mention about those open positions in this ANN thread .

I'm mentioning about this is open position in above, to inform people who came to this thread
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.58206120
I think these questions have already been answered by the mintlayer team. This is what he said in response to the question, which by now they should be complete enough to put mintlayer in success.

We still have space for more developers to join the team, we have the core team that we need to build Mintlayer but have room for some talented engineers to come and help. We're not actively looking but we are open to hiring if the right person comes along

- About Marketing, are there plans to extend the promotion outside bitcointalk? Like creating descriptive contents or hiring ambassadors from differnt locals .

I've been browsing Mintlayer.org a lot in the last few days and I have to say that the user experience is simply very good. The website is fast and runs extremely smooth. A very big thumbs up. I have experienced this quite differently with many other projects.

The Google speed test confirms my experience:

Are there already plans to translate the website into different languages? This could help to reach a larger audience.

Note: In this context, the Bitcointalk forum could certainly be helpful. There are many capable translators here who can translate the website into various languages.
