I have done everything I can possibly do on the pool to avoid orphans. Not sure the reason behind it but I will need to talk to the coin dev when he is back.
I will continue to look into it.

There's probably just a bunch of people solo mining. I'm solo mining and I've found a few blocks that are confirmed in my wallet.
