I've asked this many times, how much NAV does the team own? Is it impossible to answer it?
I am sure they can answer that easy but it is not relevant.
Here is why:
- There was no premine
- Their holdings are either bought or mined in the PoW phase
I like to compare it like this. If you joined the development team tomorrow, would you have to sell your NAV Coins to fund the project, work for the project and spend time on the project? While others sit behind their computer asking for updates..
Also, this has nothing to do with the community fund. The community fund is not for the Core team. It is a fund for everyone wanting to contribute to NAV Coin.
Actually thats not quite technically true.....
What was the deal that happened when Soopy and shahim (the original devs) "left" ? And Craig took over? If I recall correctly there was a LOT of coins that were NOT claimed and there was talk of burning them but that was like 18 months ago maybe. That was going to go towards a dev fund...... Perhaps someone could clear that up? I certainly don't expect the devs to work for free and Have given them many donations over the years that are worth tens of thousands of dollars today but yeah I would like to know how much they hold but more importantly what happened to the coins that went from Summercoin to nav and then Nav v1 to Nav V2?
Thank you! still waiting for the answer...
I joined NavCoin team in December 2016/January 2017 (can't remember exactly when) owning a personal bag of NAV from which I did not sell a single coin since then. I prefer to not disclose the exact amount, but you would need to click and scroll down on the rich list to find me...
Craig has compensated me with a variable salary since I started, changing the amount depending on the different projects I assumed and the fiat value of NAV. I've sold and traded part of the coins which I got as salary, which was never higher than 10k NAV per month. Also received donations from the community
AFAIK the Nav Foundation fund was over when I joined and was used to pay marketing campaigns (press releases) and server costs. Craig assumed all the costs from its personal money. Craig took over cause Soopy simply disappeared and abandoned Nav - without Craig the project would have died. There was no deal. Period.
Thanks for the clarification. You have to understand that the whole Soopy going awol was not (Is not?) common knowledge but as always transparency is always best. If you recall going back a while I was the first person to say that maybe soppy should "step down" and let Craig take the reins as he was performing miracles at a time when development was v. e. r. y. slow. if not non existent at times as soppy was working on multiple coins at that time and not an ideal situation.
With regard to your personal compensation, that is absolutely fine in my eyes. (and thanks BTW) your honesty is certainly appreciated.
The question of the "dead coins" is however still valid. Maybe they are just that, but they do need to be accounted for before people start citing no premine and no ICO etc. as the numbers are publicly available in this thread.
Thanks again for your insight. It is really appreciated and I learned something I didn't know.
