Nav is a big and old coin, still not appreciated by the community and, in my opinion, much but underestimated. Its beauty and its uniqueness, with its uses, will sooner or later be seen by all, and then NAV coins will rise in price, and old owners will be happy.

Nav looks very good today, nice price movement, hope we will see uptrend soon. We have many positive news here and market will respond to this sooner or later.

Recently noticed this coin, looking at OP and the website, can't tell - did NAV have an ICO when it first came out? Huh

Hello and welcome!

The short answer is no. I just answered this on reddit, have a look Smiley

sorry i am just getting in to cryptos and i came across this... what is navPI?

Nav Coin is a Proof of Stake cryptocurrency. This means you mine Nav Coins by staking. This does not require any fancy equipment or expensive hardware but can be done on a device as light as a raspberry pi. The NavPi is just the name for a Raspberry Pi 3 device running the Nav Coin software for mining. You can buy the NavPi, a raspberry Pi with pre-installed software from the Nav Coin store (http://store.navcoin.org/), or build one yourself Smiley

Hi Nav, This coin needs to be on a few Chinese Exchanges. Polo and Bittrex  traders clearly
don't appreciate the amazing tech this coin has.
And the Pink and Purple gradient got to go. Pls use shades of Blue, or shades of Green.
We all know that Pink and Purple are not colors most guys would like. Nothing is wrong with these 2 colors IMHO, just that many guys won't wear pink or purple.

I use gyft.com to spend my cryptocurrencies.  I convert my navcoins to bitcoins and then buy a "gYft" giftcard with the bitcoins.  With a gyft giftcard I can buy giftcards from dozens of retailers, including Amazon, Ebay, Macys and Walmart.  Sure, the process is not as fast as a debit card, but it works and, on occasions, I convert somewhere between $500-$1500 worth of navcoins to buy giftcards on gyft.com without a problem.

was this idea discussed before ?

(Mockup)

Was looking again into TenX and i think that a Crypto Debit card would be a great incentive to buy, hold and spend NAV.

Could bring a lot of new holders to the project, and also great service for everyday's purchases.

Happy to discuss about what you guys think .

Idea : There could be an update in the future where there is a new tab on the NAV wallet.
In this new "Send to NAV card" tab, one could "top up" his NAV visa card and start using it, similar to TenX.

Nav debit card is a good idea, but this payment system need to accept many crypto-currencies, not only Nav coin. If this system will be competitive for example with Tenx then it will be successful.

I think NAV has a lot going for it.

However, I think the graphic design of NAV looks dated and somewhat dorky.  To me it looks behind the times, but not in a hip retro way like Digibyte's logo.  I personally wouldn't wear anything with the NAV logo I can only imagine how uncool it must appear to teenagers.

In my opinion the whole presentation of the coin needs a top-down reworking by a top designer.

Don't agree at all, personally love the simplicity and colour scheme, i think it is future proof and great.

NAV is using very modern graphics, relevant today in front end development. ( startup style ), Purple / Pink / Gradient...

Would actually love to wear a Nav t-shirt and think that, Cool tech oriented people would do too.

Yes you need wallet open to stake.
You earn 5% per year. Slightly more if you account for compounding.
Does that mean there is no maximum limit to the number of Nav coins that can exist? Is there any way to burn the coins?

You can always burn coins if you want by sending them to an address nobody can access. That is true for all cryptos.

The 5% is the maximum if all coins staked. So burned coins or offline wallets would not stake. In reality inflation is maybe half of that 5%

Even so, I believe there is no theoretical upper limit, but even with maximum staking of 5% every year, it would take 10 years from now before we reach 100m coins, and then another 10 for 200m total.

In practice, about double the time for the same amount of total coins

So if you stake there is no inflation for you. You will make 5% annually while supply only grows with 3%. This means there is actually deflation for you as a staker. Staking gets rewarded with coins and secures the network!
