So as promised here is the new working Qt, I have downloaded and tested it on my VM and works like a charm. But if you have any further issues do let us know and we'll get right on it. Smiley

http://netcoinfoundation.org/NetCoin_v2.1.0.zip

I haven't updated the installer yet but I will be doing that at some point today. Untill then you'll have to use this.

Enjoy! Any thoughts or suggestions for us then please let us know and we'll look into them.

sweet! You're reliable. Crashing-error doesn't occure anymore. Downloading chain now. If you don't hear back from me you can assume everything is fine. Thanks for getting it fixed. Netcoin, go! Wink

Thanks, that's great to hear! Smiley

Let's hope we don't hear from you again then... No wait! XD

You're welcome, I'll let WHO know you're pleased, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear that. There is still much work to do and we're working non stop to get it all done. Not that the work ever ends lol

We can't wait to start exploring more areas to be honest and there is a lot going on behind the scenes as always, so keep your eye out for the future updates we have coming. Indeed, go go Netcoin!

Where could I find source code of this updated version of Netcoin?

I found:  https://github.com/netcoinfoundation/netcoin  Smiley

Yes that is the updated version, you'll notice the last push was only a few hours ago.

Which reminds me I should update the releases section there too for the new Qt, you a bit of a coder then I take it?

I have some great news for you XP fans! Who cracked it tonight, about 20 minutes ago, it is 3am here in the UK and so I have to hit the sack, I will build the new Qt first thing in the morning and have it up on the info site! As soon as I do I'll come back here and let you know!

But thank the gods for that, now to crack the rest of the little niggles XD

See you tomorrow guys, I'll be up bright and early to get that done for you! I would do it now but I need to re-build Qt creator... Long story XD

good to know it is worked on. thanks.

currently messing around with VM myself. Maybe can borrow a 64-bit-system from a friend. I am sure though i am not the only one waiting/hoping for an xp-compatible version. So, thanks for your efforts to get it fixed. Will be appreciated.

Yeah WHO is on the case now, he's got he VM fired up and looking at it as we speak, soooo fingers crossed that part will be fixed up soon. We will be having an update to fix all the other little niggles too. Moving to POS was quite the deal XD

But have no fear, we'll get it all straightened out as soon as we can. You're very welcome

@Hippie Tech

Yeah thanks for that, I did give it a go last night but it didn't help unfortunately, my suspicion is that for some reason it crashes on the first checkpoint, I have no idea why at this time, though in the debug logs it ends with date=

@V500

Yeah it turned out Big J's laptop that ran xp was just too far gone, so I did install xp on a VM and I also did try another coin and as you say it worked fine. So there is some problem with Netcoin there, we'll continue to work on a fix... As I said to hippie tech I believe it is getting stuck on the checkpoints for some unknown reason, so what I am trying as a temp measure is to upload the blocks and then download them to the VM to see it that will work.

By all means if you have a windows7 system you can try the same but if not just give me a bit more time and I will let you know how it goes. What you told me about the old chain makes me think even more that it will work... I actually did upload last night but seems the files got corrupted along the way so I am reuploading now. I have a pretty poor internet connection so that could be why.

I'll keep trying till I get some kind of work around though.

Thanks for your patience Smiley

EDIT: Bad news I'm afraid, in the end I made a shared folder, I moved the blocks from the windows 7 machine put them on the VM and it got in sync, yet still it crashes, going to play around some more with it though, I've not given up yet, also I have let WHO know so I'm sure he'll look into it a lot deeper than I can. One way or another we will get it fixed.

the old wallet was working on xp and so are all the other wallets. Just netcoin making trouble.

Wallet starts and connects to nodes. Downloads a few blocks and then crashes (max 3minutes after launch) and giving out an unexpected error. Not related to clock.

Maybe noteworthy: If i have the old blockchain in place which was downloaded with the old wallet it connects to nodes and doesn't crash, but also doesn't download blocks.

It crashes the very moment it downloads blocks.

Cranking up virtual memory also didn't solve the issue.

@Hippie Tech

Hey bud thanks for the suggestions, What do you mean by pagefile?

Also guys do you have other wallets working on your xp machines?

It is also called virtual memory or the scratch disc. eg. free SSD/HDD space is used as if it were system ram.

Also, some games/apps will benefit if you move it to a seperate partition or drive. At least some older ones did. heh..

XP's settings are identical.

Right it seems Big J's xp machine is just too far past repair, so I am going to make an xp VM and have a go myself. It will take me some time to get it up and running, if you have any luck before then do let us know. Wish me luck XD

@V500

Can't for the life of me think why, it has not been supported for some time now XD But yes we're trying a few things out but not having much luck at the moment, can you tell me, do you see any errors when you start the wallet? Do you see something like this?

"check time and date if clock is wrong, linkcoin will not work properly"

This was the error the other team member received and it was not even possible for him to change the timezone location, it was stuck on london lol... We're still trying though...

wallet crashing on launch in xp ... tried different machines. Wallet crashing after downloading a few blocks. What to do?

Try setting the pagefile to a min/max of 4096 mb and/or run it "as Administrator". Wink
