Also, wanted to remind people of the BURST development crowdfund, since BURST was a totally fairly released coin, no IPO and no premine, the devs are working for free unless WE PAY them! So, keep that in mind! I have been paying them from my pocket and from asset funds for a while as much as I can, but these CFs certainly help!

Perhaps the CFs would be more attractive if smaller and more of them.

It's kind of depressing to see just a few percent filled, thinking what my contribution will change. Just an idea to have quite small sums with few blocks and creating new ones when the former is filled. The CFs would also be put more on the weekly agenda, like "Guys, 50 blocks left for this weeks DevFund, it's lacking 125K!"

Sounds good to me, but how about this for this one... I'll double anyone's donation until this fund ends, up to 2 million BURST. Wink

Hi! i want to try mining Burstcoin, but i have some trouble over here.

The problem is on plotting and mining. I tried generating the plots with DCCT and MDCCT but it's not working: when i put the command to generate the plot, it does nothing, just returns me the "usage" hints, like if i was launching the order without options or with something wrong on them, but as i know, everything is ok, here's the command i used:

Code:
./plot -k *MY PUBLIC KEY* -x 0 -d *THE PLOT DIR* -s 0 -n 1000000 -m 6000 -t 6

Also tried using -s 0 -n 260G -m 6G -t 6 with the same result, doesn't mind that input i give, always shows me the usage hints.

Then i tried using POCMINER and i generated the plot OK, but when i run the miner, i get this output:

Code:
david@Phenom-Kubuntu:/media/david/HDD320G/pocminer-master$ sh run_mine.sh
Added key: [MYPASSPHRASE] -> [MYKEY]

Any more news? I tweet about big as well as smaller developments in the BURST community  Smiley

Questions for the Team: Will BURST2.0 require an hard folk? Will you change the name of the coin to highlight the new features? Is the timetable of 4-6 weeks still reachable? We know that there will be several changes with BURST2.0 - will these be presented as one package or will there be several announcements? Will a whitepaper be included?

I'll issue an asset soon, but why should I reveal my real identity ? I'm someone quite established here, so I hope it won't be necessary.

Personally, I don't think you need to disclose your real identity - if you're a long known, trusted, member of the community that should be sufficient. Crow knows who I am personally, but the rest of the community doesn't, and I don't think they need to to be able to trust an asset based on my efforts. On the flip side, Lenore with his playground asset seemed legit, but he cut and run, ripping off the people who invested in his efforts. I think it should be a judgement call - has this person been a member of the community for a long time; do you trust them; do you believe they'll deliver what they promise? Real life identity being known would act as a deterrent to bad behavior, but reputation can fulfill the same role.

H.

Crypto is an unregulated area and much based on trust. It's allowed to buy accounts with great reputation in the community. To disclose your identity is, as I see it, a way to gain trust - but there can never be a rule that you have to. It's unregulated, unsecure but also a means to make money with way higher interest than in most other areas. What it come down to is risk assessment - and that is up to each member to do.

I've no reason not to trust Erkallys or haitch - nor crowetic, but I'd never put my life-savings into an asset or a coin. I'd invest in their assets if I find the risk analysis being on my side, but I could also invest in an asset with a member with much less credentials if the risk assessment is even better.

Identity, or reputation, is just one of many variables to take into account when investing.

It's gotta play to my favor that haitch and I (and some of the other core members) have hosted an asset almost as long as the coin has been alive, along with a pool, and now two, without a hitch, and never missed a payment. Right? heh.

Also, wanted to remind people of the BURST development crowdfund, since BURST was a totally fairly released coin, no IPO and no premine, the devs are working for free unless WE PAY them! [[ANN]] New BURST asset – BURSTaker – The first BURST staking asset by crowetic!

This asset is going to be based on staking wallets owned by crowetic and company. At first it will be based off the wallets that crowetic owns, then it will be added to slowly but surely, and possibly modified.

Initial Asset – The initial release of the asset will be based on DMD staking and VIRAL staking wallets held by crowetic. The asset will pay out 80% of the staking done by these wallets in BURST, thus supporting BURST price.
The asset will start based on 8,144 DMD coins crowetic currently owns in a normal DMD wallet. The asset will also start staking with 3000 DMD in a DMD Legendary 10 wallet (double stake rate) once the last few issues with the new DMD wallet have been worked out, and the Legendary addresses start working as they should.
---
This asset will continue for an indefinite amount of time, though can be added or removed power at crowetic’s discretion, as long as the community is given at least 1 month (30 days) notice prior to either removal or addition of power to the asset, giving the asset time to adjust to the announcement of said removal or addition. At this time only additions are planned, (but things always change and the asset owner is not going to say that there will never be a removal or transfer of staking power from one coin to another.)
---
There are many more stake coins that will potentially be added to this asset, and crowetic is in discussion with multiple people planning an even larger addition of staking coins in the near future, and potentially even mining of some other coins as well, though this asset will likely stay more focused towards staking, and the mining could be given to BURSTeam or ByteEnt assets instead.
---
There will potentially be the option for asset holders to ask for payout in the staked coin instead of BURST, but that at first would have to be a deal worked out directly between the holder and crowetic, unless there are modifications to the coins that would allow for automation of this process in the future.
---
The other 20% of the staked coins will be held in their staked coin form, to be power addition for the next round of staking.
---
The coins in the Legendary wallet will be stuck at 3000 until 15000 at which time the legendary will be boosted to its 15000 form, and will no longer get 50% stake rate, it will be slightly lower, but the addition of the coin would make the actual payouts higher.
---
Each month, the staked coins will be announced their total amounts, and then sold and BURST purchased, unless the people holding the asset would like to work out payment in the staked coins instead of BURST, but those people would need to contact crowetic before payouts are done. The staked amounts will be announced about 5 days before payouts are done each month.
---
There is a grace period of 5-7 days each month for payouts to be done. Though they will be attempted each 1st of the month along with ByteEnt and BURSTeam asset payouts. As usual, the day you hold the asset is the day you get paid for it, so it doesn’t matter if you purchased the day before, or held for a whole month, you hold, you get paid.
---
After a period of time running in this fashion, the asset will restructure a bit, and will change from 80/20 to 75/10/15 with the 15% being used for BURST development, then later on 5% of that will be sent to a BURST BURN address, to effectively make the existing BURST more valuable. No set timeframe is given for this, but ample announcements will be made in preparation.
---
ASSET RELEASE DETAIL
---
The asset will be setup shortly, and released after setup is complete. You can expect the release announcement to come within the next day or so, and as soon as the release happens, that day is the day the staked coins will be added up for the payouts.
Release will be 50% of the asset at first, with 20% going to crowetic for hosting the assets and providing the services of payouts. This money will be used to further BURST team and projects related, as all of crowetic’s coin is used.
Stay tuned, asset release will be made very shortly!

H.

Don't forget, INCOME was a member of the community for quite a while, but he turned around and scammed everybody, who had invested in his asset(s). Therefore a little security won't hurt, but right now the best solution is revealing your identity. If you doesn't feel safe about everyone knowning who you are, you could get a trusted third part (Preferable one with known identity) to verify your identity. While not being the perfect solution, it is the best one I can think of. You remain somewhat anonymous, while making your investors feel safe about investing in your asset.
When all the annoying things about security is out of the way, a little more competition within the asset market doesn't hurt. Wink

That's the thing, it really doesn't matter how long you've been in the community, many people have come in long standing members, then disappeared with funds. not saying you would do that, but it HAS happened.

That's the only thing I warn against when people invest in new assets.

I too, am going to be announcing a new asset very soon.

-Everyone already knows we're planning to be the FIRST COIN MINABLE ON ANDROID PHONES, which I plan to promote the hell out of and make reach the general public, and I have a specific plan in mind for that as well.
...

Hi crowetic,

do you mean something like this?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kangaderoo.neoneonminer&hl=en

The new version supports M7M (Magi / XMG)

Greets
Vin

No, I mean something that actually makes sense. Something that is actually able to make a real amount of coin, and not burn up your phone. But you know, to each their own. lol.

edit - No offense at all meant by this, but mining anything like traditional PoW on a phone just reeks of bad idea to me. This is simply my opinion.

Given that other android miners exist: Make sure that we in the promotion of Burst android mining do not claim to be the first minable coin, but instead highlight its usefulness compared to others, with feats such as profitability, (phone) sustainability, eco-friendliness and such.  Smiley

Margin - frilledshark - frilled has thus far proven himself as a trustworthy asset seller, but I don't believe he has publicly announced his real name/info. Use your own mind here and invest wisely. I myself hold a large amount of this asset, but that is my choice I am by no means endorsing it unless frilled names and locates himself to the public.

Vector - (name escaping me at the moment, some help please??) - Thus far Vector has proven itself a solid asset, but once again the owner of it has not given himself a public real name/location yet. I also hold some of this asset but I suggest you do your own research here as well. So far so good as far as I'm concerned.[/size]

I'm also behind Vector
I would like to continue to stay anonymous, while my assets still are a hobby beside my normal life. If the assets ever become something bigger, I might share more information about me (Can't promise anything). I will continue to stay open about every move and listen to the community, incase they want to have an impact on any of the assets.
Edit: Btw, does anybody know who BURST-EEWX-K3D3-ZWNM-3SDPX is?

Okay great, well, so far you've been true to your word, and I can respect that, I'm a large holder of your assets, keep doing what you're doing and I'll make sure to continue to back you.

Would be cool with catch words for BURST, and with BURST vertically written just as a promo pic.

Not seeing the pic you're trying to show here, can you try again? (Click the 'share' button, then click 'share link' and you'll get a link you can share. Wink)

I think we need to make a list of all of the KNOWN GOOD ASSETS on BURST, and remove any of the ones that are NOT! I'm frankly very tired of people like Lenore and the like coming in and making assets then ditching out. That stops NOW. No more of the good people of the BURST community shall be ripped off by low life people like this.

MY SUGGESTIONS...

1. ONLY buy assets that are released from TRUSTED and NON-ANONYMOUS people.

2. If an anonymous person decides to start an asset, DENY DENY DENY.

3. Be very diligent with your asset investments, and know the main asset seller.

I know these points are almost the same things, but the fact is, that's the main point. Just know who is releasing the asset, know their real information, and never trust an anonymous asset seller. Even the ones who SEEM very legit. So far almost every asset that has been released by an anonymous member of the community has run away with the money made from the assets. Just BE CAREFUL, we're empowering people to do their own investing, and this comes along with the KNOW YOUR INVESTMENT bylaws, we can empower you, but you must also empower yourselves!

Thank you!... I will now list the known good assets and who runs them...
ByteEMini - riskyfire - trusted member of the community and very helpful, makes BURST how to videos and is overall a really great guy.

ByteEnt - crowetic and ByteEnterprises team (haitch, irontiga, etc...) - 1800253871016293364 - Longest running and most trusted asset on BURST chain, has been running for almost as long as BURST itself, and has even changed names and NEVER missed a payout. Never has, and never will.

BURSTeam - (same group as above, with more emphasis on haitch) - 14092376023955917604 - Clone of ByteEnt asset launched by haitch's clone pool and crowetic mining. Once again a very highly trusted and core group of BURST that has been dedicated to the coin since the very beginning. haitch is one of the most honest and trustworthy people I have ever met and has ALWAYS been a truly extremely valuable member of the BURST community. Buy with confidence! This asset is also currently trading at about half the price of ByteEnt, and has a really nice amount of power in it. Good prices since it is still fairly new!

Vector - frilledshark - Thus far Vector has proven itself a solid asset, but once again the owner of it has not given himself a public real name/location yet. I also hold some of this asset but I suggest you do your own research here as well. So far so good as far as I'm concerned.

FEEL FREE TO QUOTE/ADD MORE TO THIS LIST, AND I'LL PUT THE KNOWN TRUSTED ASSETS ON THE OP AND THE NEW BURST SITE IN DEVELOPMENT. THANKS!
