-[ANN]- Some info and upates  Grin

Just wanted to give another update, since I've gotten approval from the developer to release him as the new core dev, and I would like to list the other devs and core team members, and what is currently going on as far as I can without disrupting what we have going on that must remain secret for the moment. So, here goes...

**also@altsheets - about my new private cloud, that is in a temp location on one of my slowest  hosts, I'm going to be moving it shortly and it should function a lot better. For now though, it will have to be dealt with at the slow speeds. I should have it up on the new host within the next day or so. Thanks! I haven't checked to find your modifications, but if you put them there, thank you!

So, here's the list of the current team, and what is going on that I can release information on. There is a lot more going on that I cannot talk about quite yet, as we have a very specific release structure in mind and don't want to cause panic buys and things of that nature... here goes...

Core developer / main developer - DCCT - As you all know, DCCT has been with us since the very beginning of the coin, and has done some amazing things for BURST, including one of the best miners ever. He is now helping us by becoming the official core dev, main developer for BURST.

AT development - fuse (fusecavator, would like to be known as 'fuse') and vbcs - These two are truly awesome. Fuse came to us with some great pointers, and has already implemented the changes he suggested to the code, and will be put into the next release of BURST wallet. vbcs as you all know has been around since day one as well, and since the CF I started for him was a success, has made him very happy, and he agreed to work with BURST continually as part of the team, we are very happy to have him as he is a fantastic dev. Fuse, though new, is also a fantastic dev and we've grown already tremendously fond of him, we know that these two will make wonderful things together! We're truly honored to have them!

Graphics - clepto.design - I have found a designer that is a personal friend of mine, and started him a company which I will be posting a temporary page for soon on clepto.design. We've decided he will be a tremendous help with graphics. We thank him for what he has done so far that people will see shortly, and we know he will be a great asset in the future!

Wallet development / GUI - daWallet - daWallet has already proven himself to be a massively beneficial member to the BURST team, and has been extremely valuable and trustworthy. he has made BURST MUCH easier to use with his Windows GUI, and continually releases updates. He is also currently working on ANDROID DEVELOPMENT!

Mobile / Droid - daWallet / Kleinstein / kartojal - We haven't seen Klein or Kart around in a minute, but we do believe they are not gone, and we do know that daWallet has a small team under him that will also be doing mobile dev and android stuff.

GPU miner dev / GPU implementations / core assistance - luxe - luxe has proven himself to be extremely valuable with GPU miner release and much more, he is also currently helping dcct with core dev. We are extremely proud to have him on our team. We think he will continue to prove himself a fantastic dev and great asset to the team!

Infrastructure / VMWare / Development of foundations - haitch and crowetic - haitch is a great infrastructure dev who is also a good friend of mine, we both work together to continually make the core of the infrastructure that runs many BURST services better, and will continue to do so. Haitch is a better code reader than I am, but I'm getting there. I'm also working on DNS and domain info for BURST, and SSL and soforth, with haitch. We'll continually make things better from the ground up!

Miner development - luxe and Blago - I've already explained luxe, so now I will explain Blago. Blago has been around for quite some  time and has proven himself not only the most awesome of miner devs, but also, the most Russian! heh. We love blago and are very pleased to have him as part of our team! Thank you blago!

there are more, random devs, who we haven't seen in a while, but we believe will still be part of the team... cryo, googs, catbref, and cheester to name a few. But this is the active team above. Thanks!

We also have a lawyer, a CPA, and a marketing master which we will remain nameless for the moment. As well as much more. Stay tuned!

I have also started another CF for the payment of our wonderful team, please donate what you can and keep the core of BURST strong and growing! Thanks!

A quickie:

Where can I find the best text/documentation explaining CIYAM's AT in laymen's terms? I thought I'd cover crowdfunding, which has a great community, at my Twitter and need to go into AT - and I found it quite hard given the space of Twitter or quoting CIYAM (and the latter it far from laymen's terms; http://www.ciyam.org/at/ Wink ).

Since CF would be the main target to explain, I'm looking to only have a few introductory AT tweets (later it can be a topic on it own).

Thanks! Smiley

EDIT
Btw,i've got 184 followers in a few days -thanks for the support and I really do think people are interesting with the newbie perspective the tweets has.

Also, some followers/DMs are interesting on a different level - I PMed you, crowe, about that since you got nothing to do Wink Wink

IF there is funding (AND you are NOT planning to upgrade BURST to a newer NXT which would provide that anyways)
- then I could build a service that provides exactly that: Select personal transactions from all transactions.
But it means ... work time.

Such a feature would certainly be valuable.

[Windows Client]

new version Burst Client for Windows v0.2.3

Win Client update due to Blago's great improvements of his miner.

+ Updated Blago's miner to version 1.160407 (100% performance improvement!)
+ added HowTo Crowdfund with Burst
+ Design improvements for Crowdfund & Lottery

Info: If you're using the portable version, you need to make sure you have "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013" installed to use Blago's miner.

or

Great work, devs! The new version works like a dream.

*EDIT*

The sourceforge version is half the size of the other, and the setup file did not work. The other one worked, though.

For a moment it worked now - so I could see that it had stored my edits, cool system - just not very stable, seemingly?

YOU daWallet and Turn0ff had copied my old manual to other places. I suggest you update them.

Can you see your own trade history in the asset exchange within Haitch's (web) wallet?
...
... When I go to the Asset Exchange, I see Sell Orders, Buy Orders and Trade History as well as the ability to buy/sell. On other exchanges I can normally press a button to sort out my trades from those of everyone else, but I cannot see a section for my previous trades here. It would be very convenient to see my own trade history for comparing previous prices and such.
... Your asset exchanges transactions is one thing that the wallet doesn't show - either in a local version or the online one.
H.
And the reason is the underlying NXT version. Is that NXT 1.2.3?

Since nrs-v1-3-0 there is this function:
Quote
getTrades now accepts an optional account parameter, in addition to asset, to
allow retrieving trade history for a specific account, for either all assets or
a specific asset only.

IF there is funding (AND you are NOT planning to upgrade BURST to a newer NXT which would provide that anyways)
- then I could build a service that provides exactly that: Select personal transactions from all transactions.
But it means ... work time.

Anything that shows in the local wallet will show in the web-wallet.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not quite sure what you mean. When I go to the Asset Exchange, I see Sell Orders, Buy Orders and Trade History as well as the ability to buy/sell. On other exchanges I can normally press a button to sort out my trades from those of everyone else, but I cannot see a section for my previous trades here. I should have explained better - the online wallet shows the same things as the local wallet, it does not extend it. Your asset exchanges transactions is one thing that the wallet doesn't show - either in a local version or the online one.

General Information / updates -

We're working on a few things on the pool right now, such as hopefully being able to make the modifications that allow for cloning and distribution of the pool.

The issue we've got currently, is that the original pool coder, catbref, is not able to be found... Thus the code itself, isn't available, making things difficult...

We will likely have a new pool written from the ground up (again) unless we can get a hold of cat, so that's where we're at with that... We are fully aware that we have too much hashpower comparatively, and we're working on it.

As soon as we've figured a way to modify the code, and/or modify what we've got enough to move it and change things aside from basic config, haitch will be runnning a clone copy right off the bat, so that we can split the hashpower a bit. Then we will also be giving out copies to anyone who'd like to run a pool.

----------------

Also @altsheets - Thank you for the contribution on the crowdfunding how-to. I will likely send you another donation here shortly.

----------------

Something else... I will likely be starting at least 1 more asset here soon, and many more in the future. I will also be starting another CF for BURST development team.

----------------

Updates done to the code as of now...

We have made some core modifications to speed up sync, as well as a few modifications to the AT code as general improvements. There is currently quite a bit of BURST development going on, including the development by daWallet for the android platform stuff. Just wanted to give a bit of an idea of what is going on so that the community doesn't think that I'm just mentioning things to artificially increase the price. In fact, the opposite is true, I would vastly prefer the price to go lower, so that I can continue to buy. haha. jk. But seriously...

----------------

Anyway, there are some general ideas of what we're doing, but there is a lot more too, that currently I will not discuss, but things that are very exciting to us, and I truly can't wait until I CAN make those announcements. For now, stay on the lookout for my new CFs and my new assets that I will be putting up shortly.

---------------

We are also fully aware of the front end issues we've got right now, including the charts on the blockex, and dates being off there. We will be working on that shortly. Also, the main website, and OP modifications. I'll do some of the OP modifications today, and the main website will be fully updated soon.

Thank you for your continued support, and here's to a fantastic and profitable year for everyone in the BURST and other good coin communities!

is there a way to mine with a win32 OS? is it even worth it?

In theory the Win Client supports it. It will automatically use the good old plotting and mining tools from the first day.
You can do it, but blago and jminer have faster reading speeds. If you are not reading more than 15 TB, it should be okay.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/burstwindowswallet/

You can also use the original tools directly of course...

Thanks a lot!

But why then my "Deploy AT" is failing?
Suddenly my AT ... got accepted.

I had changed the "Name", but that was all.
What are the rules for what can be input as a "Name" for a crowdfunding?

If I recall @vbcs correctly, no spaces, no "non-standard" chars (probably ASCII or some other "simple" coding)

*Sigh*

This whole thing really URGENTLY needed a manual - right?

I have added that constraint to my crowdfunding manual now. See (9).

Plus, I remind of my postings April 7th and 5th - that page itself could be improved a lot. Right now it only works for the initiated, or the very very persistent.

New question:
Quote
"minActivation": "700000000",
(Just speculation) does the 2 weeks only start running when the first pledge > 7 BURST has been done?

Thanks!

Yes

I have also added that to my crowdfunding manual now. See "N.B." below (10).

I have. For a moment it even seemed to work.

Then only "No connection to server. Trying to reconnect."

Can you see my edits?

Does it work equally well in all browsers?  Where is the manual how to use it? Has your node crashed? Have you simply switched it off?  Does it need you restarting it?

Thanks for the promotion Xavier, but I'm not the developer of Burst.

H.

Yup, I know, but the OP only informs about retired devs ...  Huh

Which devs are you calling 'retired'?

kleinstein didn't connect since months.
But what I mean is that I don't really understand who is developping the coin. Is it those people with the "development" comment. In this case, "core development" would be more explicit.

On my PC it runs for an hour or two and then it silently exits giving no errors.

Edit: Solo mode, Win 7 64x

1. Set in config  "UseLog" : true,
2. Run miner ~1 min.
3. Close miner by pressing key "q".
4. Edit yours last log in folder "Logs" - delete/change ALL passphrases in strings "Sender:   Sent to server: POST /burst?requestType=submitNonce&secretPhrase= ......"
5 .PM log to me

I ran it all night on win 10 while plotting and didnt have any issues! It would be nice to have someone explain each setting. I am sure I could get more out of my computer if I knew what to tweek.

for tweak - use parameter "CacheSize" : 100000
every thread read 100000 nonces, after calc deadlines, read againe another 100000 nonces

Check your ram use whilst running the miner, win 7 has a memory leak. Vista 64, win 8 or 10 work without issue.
