Regarding getting on another block explorer, coinplorer had the info I wanted. So, now imo FRK doesn't really *need* another explorer, if that's still gonna happen though I'd be okay donating .05 to get on blockexperts.

the more block explorers the merrier Smiley If yall can raise the funds that would be awesome. I'm currently paying for 5 nodes every month.

crowdfund it on www.startjoin.com
go over and join up
projects don;t need to be startcoin based, although funding is in btc, startcoin and or cash

so for new nodes, proof of stake development, etc

gets Franko in the eye of other crypto investors and general public

plus pitch yourself right, which is a very honest developer, great solid coin, great branding etc, an out there developer with a real name! who does a lot (all true)

get funding, just deliver the project, and give a few cheap goodies out, some franko stickers for being hero donator for £50 donation etc

please do this, can answer a lot of dreams in my opinion for this great coin

btw, what will proof of stake involve? as far as wallets etc. does it mean interest on coins?

That is a really solid idea, thanks!

And stake is kinda like interest but not really.

hi Franko fans,

i was just getting a new explorer setup for Tekcoin and i found these guys http://blockexperts.com/ seems pretty nice and like a very fair price at .1 btc for a year.

The collective is coming!

That is actually pretty fair! I think someone else recommended them also. I wonder where their servers are located.

cryptobe.com is an affordable block explorer, been around a while. Last I checked it was .15 btc

You would have to ask him directly.    "Due to the volatility of crypto I have not listed any prices, contact me and I'll get back to you asap."  on http://iquidus.co.nz/

I am 99% sure it would be cheaper than the 1 BTC you are pooling together for CryptoID, so I figured I would chime in with the suggestion.  Otherwise his code is open source if someone wanted to provision a free AWS server and set it up themselves.

Yea it looks like it. ive got a handful of servers im already maintaining so it would be nice to see it somewhere else also haha.

I would recommend first talking to Luke Williams (https://twitter.com/iquidus) for a more cost-effective block explorer & hosting of it.   You can see a live version of his code on the Jumbucks explorer (http://explorer.getjumbucks.com/) & the source code here: https://github.com/iquidus/explorer

I've hired him for some work in the past and can vouch for him

That block explorer is pretty decent, do you know what he'd charge for a year of hosting?

I have a working testnet but no one really asked about it, and the current stake options would completely centralize the coin.

Yeah, it would. Honestly though, with FRK's market cap as low as it is, there's only going to be consolidation of the coin anyway, it's only a matter of time before it's profitable for some market maker to take advantage of your work. I'm not one of those though so it'll happen when it happens.

I don't see much wrong with a PoS/PoW system like Peercoin, so long as PoW rewards are kept long term. It's kooky, while decentralization is the fairest way to live, it's human tendency to centralize by grasping onto our surroundings. We've got a long ways to go.

I posted in the CryptoID thread asking how much they need for a year of hosting, we'll see. It cost about 1BTC to host DGC.

I also sent you an email to sign up for Slack, I haven't used it often, I'm more of an IRC person. I'm squatting the #franko channel right now. Join #digitalcoin if you wish, we also have a Slack thingy set up at noobie.io if you'd like to join, pm me your email and I'll send it to the admin for the invite.

I'll vouch 0.21 btc so we only need 0.2 left if we can find a third. The more blockexplorers the better. I'm about to set up a secondary block explorer in amsterdam later today. That way we can have 4 located all over the world.

Also I dont mind the idea of stake. The monetary policy on FRK right now is incredibly long term. Long term like somewhere around 1024 years in the first mining phase. The good thing is 1024 is a HUGE number, and we could half that by adding stake and still probably achieve my original dream. We can hold a vote.

Now that ive got entrance built I could build a voting platform where people can use their coinage as a vote Cheesy

Is anyone else interested in donating BTC to get Franko on the CryptoID block explorer? We need .41 BTC.

Also, Franko should consider getting hosted on this block explorer: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/

Their bitcointalk thread is here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/chainzcryptoidinfo-alternative-blockchain-explorers-571254

It's required to pay for hosting, but apparently not that expensive. I'd be willing to donate .2 BTC to the cause. Would like to get a deeper look into FRK Smiley

awesome! If you want to help pay for it, Idont see why we cant do it. Sounds like a good idea. Keep me updated. Also join the collective slack chat if you havnt already.

I see adding PoS to this coin was considered once, any verdict?

Hmm... difficulty is 86.

Yea its been bouncing around lately, there are a couple of multipools that keep hitting it and forking each others blocks. Kinda funny really.
