What a surprise that happened quickly after the announcement of the shutdown, before traders were able to withdraw their funds...

"AllCrypt.com is down for a bit

Well, due to some apparent exploit in wordpress, someone, somehow, got into the server tonight, installed some files, and managed to empty the goddamned BTC wallet. Best I can tell it was something with that worthless pile of shit software wordpress.

I'm fucking done. I run a site, spend thousands of hours of time, thousands of dollars of my OWN money to run it, decide to shut down, and somehow, through ways I cannot even figure the hell out, someone gets in, uploads files to the server, somehow finds the goddamned BTC wallet on the network, and it appears that they slammed it with withdraw requests. Of course, the wallet is locked - but it unlocks when a withdraw is legitimately made through the site. I THINK they made a real wd on the site, and then slammed the backdoor to get the other funds out.

We had 42 BTC in the wallet. 12 was the sites. 30 was users BTC. I'm fucking done with crypto. I'll post details when I sort this fucking mess out. Not that it will matter, because no one ever actually gives a shit when something like this happens. "

I'm sorry to see Allcrypt go. I've made what use of it that I could (given the sparse order lists), always wondering why it wasn't attracting more attention given the many innovative features it had.

If you can't work out a solid plan to re-enter the altcoin market with a big splash, may I make another suggestion: The Allcrypt team definitely has a lot of demonstrated talent that shouldn't go to waste! I'd recommend talking to some of the other bigger exchanges like Poloniex and Bittrex, to see if they'd be interested in some of the feature sets you've developed for Allcrypt. I think there should be some employment opportunity or at least some contracting opportunities to implement some of the ideas found only on Allcrypt to this point.

Best wishes!!,

@allcrypt - I think it would increase the acceptance of the exchange if the trade history actually displayed if it was a BUY or a SELL. Maybe even with colours so it's a bit more lively.

I like that exchange. Deposits/withdraw works very fast. Main problem is low volume, so not much trades here. But a lot of coins, even some which was delisted from anywhere Smiley

No was merely trying to keep it so that new topics were not being posted to a months old "we are opening an exchange" announcement thread, and instead to use the new one.

There's no fire to clear. A thief got caught and tried to smear us in retribution. We have nothing to hide. We are, I'd wager, the only exchange that speaks honestly to the community and it's users. I am NOT saying other exchanges are dishonest - far from it. What I am saying is you'll get nothing but the straight facts from us, even if they are harsh, not politically correct, or, god forbid, we write posts like normal human beings. Which means sometimes we are in a bad mood, sometimes we are tired of whining, and sometimes we blow off steam.

But you'll never get anything less than total honesty from us.

I'm sorry you've had such terrible experiences with other exchanges. Maybe one day you'll give us a shot. Smiley

But it's moot. We didn't moderate this thread so I can't close it.

Would rather everyone posted replies to the new one though. No point in posting in a months old announcement thread.

Oh, of course you'd try and 'close' this thread and create a new self moderated thread to clear all the fire.

All these new exchanges saying they're better than mt gox, when in actuality they're all going to end up doing the same thing to the end users.

I no longer trust any exchange...which completely sucks because it makes it that much harder to trade alts, and I can only do it through escrow on forums.

Aah. Just came across this. Was hoping he'd post here somewhere.

See, fox there happened to be the beneficiary of a small bug we had one night last week, where we accidentally had two daemon processes running on the same machine at the same time, and a few deposits that were made during that timeframe were duplicated in one instance of our failsafe checks (there are three levels).

Instead of reporting the issue like another honest user, he decided to try and withdraw it all. Of course the withdrawal failed, as the other failsafe checks realized he did not actually have that much.

Upon looking into the accounts that were affected and the behavior of the affected users, we noticed that fox had not logged into his account in over a month. He logged in, generated a PND address, and made a deposit, all within 2 minutes. Then, literally 17 seconds after the deposit confirmed, he attempted the withdrawal.

Same as 2 other users.

Sorry fox, not an "honest mistake". Anyone not using the site for a month, logging in and making a 100k PND deposit within minutes, who then saw a 300K deposit being credited would take a bit longer than 17 seconds to get his withdrawal address ready and hit that withdrawal page. We'd imagine there may be a few moments of "wow what just happened" before you run for the withdrawal page.

So, as per the terms and conditions that you implicitly agreed to by using the site, your account was suspended indefinitely. Because we take site security, and user's trying to take advantage of the system, extremely seriously.

On that note, going to close this thread (if I can?) and redirect everyone to the new/active thread:
